Kante is awesome but he will struggle with vs Pogba and Fellaini combo physicality. Given that Cahill will have his hands full with ZLatan physicality

I like that Fabregas being another creative outlet will reduce the attention on Hazard but I just don't know where to fit in from the start that wont compromise midfield solidity? And I doubt this is the game to change tactics from 343

I get your point though. Corners could potentially be deadly especially with that Blind's delivery so I agree that we need some height and strength in there.

Even though I've been advocating for Fabregas to play before, I dont think he should start. Play Matic. Mou is coming with Fellaini and Pogba you need some extra steel in the middle also.

I don't think Willian is back from compassionate leave.

I would prefer to play Fab in this kind of game. Fab is a roaming playmaker and will be able to move around creating triangles all over the pitch.

Kante either sitting to recycle possesion from deep if the middle is choked or playing box-to-box if transitions on the wing are not possible.

We need a playmaker in that middle quite badly. Matic is supposed to be the playmaker out of that pair but the guy no dey ever show for pass, and his passing ability doesn't inspire that much confidence in me.

Obvs Jose is a bonafide Chelsea legend and will get some applause...but I didn't think there would be true Chelsea fans anywhere who would be neutral in this game

I personally hate manyoo by default anyway, so as usual I want us to smash them this weekend. But a victory would be so much sweeter with Jose at the helm partly for the debacle of last season that was largely of his own making, but mostly because...well “When he decided to go to a direct competitor then love stories are over”

No. I cannot as well. Jose will definitely try to use Valencia and Young to pin Moses and Marcos. In the middle of the park, I am guessing he will also try to use Fellaini to watch Kante's forward runs. It's easier for them at SB because the pitch is smaller.

This is where I believe Hazard and Pedro are key to tilting the game. Assuming Moses and Marcos are successfully pinned, Hazard and Pedro will have to double as wing outlets and forwards so we don't isolate Costa. If they bring their A game, then it will be a busy day for United. I set-up will open up space in the middle.

Defensively, I don't see them doing much damage. Kante can hold Herrera and Fellaini on his own. Matic on Pogba and our wing backs on their overlapping wingers. Jose will not attack us with full backs. Not at SB.

This is how I see it unfolding. I hope for 3pts.

I expect Diego to pick up a card in this game though. His tussle with Bailly will likely be a key factor in determining the outcome of the game as both are clearly agberos by nature.

My only concern in the game is Matic. I suspect that Jose will go for the early goal and then look to shut up shop. Either way, we would need a real dynamic presence in the middle of the Park and I don't think Matic is dynamic(or creative enough) to be cause mayhem there. I think that Matic should be encouraged to just sit for us in this game like he used to do 2 years ago and let Kante do the running. Alternatively we play Fabregas to control the tempo from deep safe in the knowledge that he has 5 defenders behind him.

And United – less than three days after facing Fenerbahce – are unlikely to have the same appetite and energy to press as they displayed at Anfield. It all points to a slightly more open game. We hope. Surely.

You are right. SAF used to sit back and wait for counter against teams he thought were better, like Arsenal. And we've also seen him go all out against the same Arsenal and destroy them 8-2. That's a manager who has a plan A and B.

The only tactic he knows is Park the bus. That's his plan A. He has no plan B. I've seen us Park this season against City, Liverpool and even against small teams like Feyenoord and Watford. The few times dis season we ve left our own half and dominated the game and created few chances was against small teams and that was bcoz those teams sat back and allowed us time on the ball.

To be honest, wen ve u ever seen Mourinho go out and play attacking, entertaining football against a major rival?? Everything he knows na just boring Park the bus type of football.
