The important point to note is that, in a 4-3-3, Pedro and Hazard address never in those positions to start with. This is why it is tactical and the primary reason Hazard can receive the ball. Forget the mistake.

Tactics are implemented to 1. Create your own chances, 2. Cause your opposition to make mistakes and 3. Be in a position to capitalize on a mistake by your opponent.

What else is tactical brilliance?

I have always insisted that this team is good enough to challenge for the title, ergo this team is good enough to beat 15 other teams in this league by default any given Sunday.

I'm not hear to debate theories of what tactical brilliance is. I'm only pointing out what happened. Regardless of hazards position on the pitch, if those defenders had defended well, that goal doesn't happen..it wasn't even a forced error, thus I cannot in good conscience ascribe that to Conte.

Anyway the difference in quality between Chelsea and the top 4 other teams isn't that great, which is where sound tactics comes into play. Twice we've faced those guys, twice we were destroyed. I cannot see anything in our play against the people I expect to beat to suggest that we can avoid a repeat performamce against the teams we are competing with for a top 4 place.

I hope this is clear to you, even if it isn't to some of the less discerning posters on this thread

The mistake came about from the defenders second guessing the intentions of Hazard running through the channels. Hazard had been able to do that because Marcos is providing width on the left. Marcos is able to provide that width quickly because his starting position is from the middle of the pitch and not from full back position. All this is happening because Conte is implementing a 3-4-3.

You seem to have a short memory and maybe different expectations to me. This is exactly how we started this season...until we jammed multiple trailers back to back.

For me I expect a minimum of a top 4 finish from this squad, so I expect to win games like this by default. The difference between you and me, is that I expect tactical excellence.

LVG achieved a top 4 finish and won a trophy in maligned tenure. Pellegrini won the league and never finished outside the top 4...yet...

I am watching on Sky and the commentators only mention poor defending for the goal. They don't mention we are not playing well.

The tactical set-up is ambitious and very effective. The midfield is flooded with options - defensively and offensively. And the evidence of that is in the ball possession 65% and creating a number of changes already; whilst at the same time, limiting the to only one cross in chances created.

Leicester had the lowest average possession in the league last season anyway so let's not act brand new.

Obviously now we're leading , but bar that Hazard chance we've not created a single clear cut chance.

Anybody can pass the ball around when your opponents sit back in their half and let you play the way Leicester are doing...I mean even Cahill is looking decent.

Please don't try and make it look like I want the team to fail. I don't. But I am not impressed with Conte's tactics. End of.
