raumdeuter: Its not something you want to watch with a minor because of the language
I think in episode 5, he yabbed Wenger
"Bleep you Arsene, All you do is complain complain everytime referee referee"
In their tactic room where they sit to discuss tactics, I see Kompany and Aguero in front all have a permanent seat. I think it was in episode 1 where Kompany went into the cooling chamber 130 degree below zero and later Mendy went into the heating chamber in their recovery
Omo that city sports centre is next level o.
Good God.
I don't get Aguero and David Silva- the clearly don't speak English, but Pep is only ever really shown speaking English.
raumdeuter: In the 2 of the 3 past season when he played with Costa
2015/16 4 league goals 4 assists. As one of the 2 real goals outlet as you put it. Thats less goals and assists than Costa
Hazard assisting 4 goals last season wasnt due to Morata it was just in his nature like it was for 2 seasons before Morata joined
15/16 was a season where the club underperformed and was epitomized by the fact that we had not 1, but two managers leave the club by the end of that season.
raumdeuter: Of those 3 seasons Hazard played with Costa one of the best strikers in the world, SO the quality of striker excuse goes out
In those 3 seasons fabregas and Willian who play with the same set of players have more assists despite playing deeper and getting benched a lot this further tells us the problem is Hazard
Hazard and Costa have been the only 2 real goal threats in the last 3 seasons.
So of course, his assist numbers will be down while his goal scoring numbers will be up.
Last season, Hazard was Chelsea top scorer in all competitions with 16 goals. That explains how dire the situation was at the club. If there's no other goal threat who is hazard supposed to crrate for?
raumdeuter: Over a season these tough and easy chances even themselves out and if we have a player like Hazard over the past 3 seasons playing with different strikers have 4, 5 and 4 assists then it shows the problem isnt the strikers but Hazard himself
maybe if hazard was playing with a finished striker like Aguero instead of ediots like demba ba, old man Etoo, and Morata maybe his numbers would be better
raumdeuter: The chances created too differ in quality. A chance served for a goal line tap in and a pass given to the back of a striker isnt the same
but if the ball that goes to the back of the striker is converted, the supplying player gets the credit for an assist...despite the pass being terrible.
E.g Kane against Panama - RLC assist.
if you're not discriminating assists based on quality, why are you discriminating chances created based on quality?
raumdeuter: The part that was touching to me was when he was telling the team to win for David. When D.Silva had to travel to be with his premature baby.
If you watch episode 6 and how scared he was of Liverpool even before the game
no spoil am for me na?
I'm starting episode 2 on the train home in 30 minutes
Unlimited22: But the scenarios above aren't exactly the same. A shot taken by a striker, and his conversion rate is entirely up to himself. A chance is created for a teammate who still has to SCORE the goal for it to count as an assist.
See the chance that Salah squandered on Monday and compare it to his second "assist"
eph12: Roberson Arnold Gomez and Dijk in LFC defence tonight. I know a coach that would have been moaning instead of getting his team to play football.
flesh and blood did not reveal this to you.
Robertson and Gomez came straight from Championship and League 1 respectively.
Heywhizzy: so playing 3 at the back was because of Mendy, you don't know guardiola, if he was benched you would have said worse
He wants to kill him, it's mere banter you're using as defense.. Is that enough to say he ain't positionally aware, Marcelo is not positionally aware, Dani alvez, Carvajal, Alonso too, what does it take away from them
Pep Guardiola said he wants to Kill Mendy because instead of playing left back, he was playing as a centre forward
thats exactly what pep said.
If his own manager is calling him out in the press for his poor position, what excuse are you making again?
Heywhizzy: you need IQ to understand the role being given, how many did Moses and zappacosta successfully provide under conte.
Every wing back in an attacking squad is always most times cut out of position, placing it as a major criticism is bias.. something that's common with Marcelo, Alba, best left backs, you can't be using that to discredit him
You edge Alonso on goal threat, yet support a criticism of getting into more forward positions in which Alonso gets his goals from, Haba
Mendy was dribbled against Arsenal like every other player but kept getting dribbled is a big lie abeg
My point is, it's too early to make those major conclusive criticism just to disprove a point
The commentators actually said that if City continued to play like that in Europe, they would be found out.
The manager himself came out to say he want to KILL Mendy for staying up too much, in a game where Mendy had two assists.
The next time we saw Mendy, he was playing in front of 3 defenders instead of two.
If I'm lying, then shey Pep too is lying abi?
Alonso obviously has greater goal threat than Mendy- he doesn't even have to enter the box to score. He has long shots in his locker, He has nodding in his locker, he can place the ball accurately like a number 9, and he scores freekicks.
Heywhizzy: not like I'm in support of someone rating Mendy that highly but all you wrote here is trash.. how did you come into such conclusions like he has no technical ability, no positional awareness and average football IQ.. using nice football terms doesn't actually mean you know football.. Someone that can pick out attackers in the box smartly is who you call all pace and power, has average football IQ, well-done Sir, I too know.. Running into the box once or twice having a comfortable win has now become lack of positional awareness, I duff my hat for you
Mendy that kept getting dribbled against arsenal.
it's no coincidence that next match, Pep changed to 3 at the back.
and yes Mendy lacks positional awareness.
Guardiola was saying only just after the Arsenal game about how he wanted to Kill Mendy because he was acting too much like a centre forward.
and that was in a game where he got two assists.
I think that we're giving too much credit to Mendy and Alonso in terms of pull outs.
Pep like Conte plays a system and instructs the wingbacks to cross the ball into a particular area. He has also instructed his players to make specific runs to those areas.
Mendy was injured most of last season and Sane was the one providing the width for Mancity and many of his assists were cutbacks and crosses into the same areas Mendy has been putting the ball this season.
I'm not saying they're both not good going forward...I'm only pointing out how both are playing in an automated system.
Imo Alonso edges out Mendy because of his added goal threat. That guy is a striker playing at left back for real.
afrodoc2: Since that one started commenting on this thread he has not made a single reasonable or sensible comment. Makes me realize that the people that were carrying last in school when we dey top the class did not all die.
