Politics / Re: We Don’t Have Problem With Igbo, But Yoruba Pretending As Lagosians — Indigenes by Nikes(m): 11:25am On Sep 11 |
I was on my way to work this morning when I saw posters of young Igbo men contesting councilorship positions here in Jos. I just smiled. If I had the chance I'll vote for them. If anything the Igbos have only contributed largely to the growth and development of the state. In one of the local governments here they drag population with the indigenes but not once has there been any social or political crisis between them. I think those fighting them in lagos are simply battling their own personal insecurities. Cos how can you sell land to somebody and then go out in public and cry fowl, that that person has stolen your land? 3 Likes |

My Uncle's wife bought new yam today somewhere here In Plateau close to Jos. 6 big tubers for N1,200! As in One thousand, two hundred. I was shocked like this. Definitely giving her money to buy when she goes there next week. Make person breathe small abeg. And That's not to say that Tinubu has anything to do with it. The community just happen to have abundant supply from their farms |

Leemzyy:You'd have to be really young to not know this 😃. It's a universal charger( or so we call it). It has 2 pins to which you'd connect your phone's battery terminal. Once connected a red light will appear. When plugged into a socket the red light will go disco alternating between red, blue and green. When your battery gets full the light goes green. Shikenan. Battery Don full. But it takes longer than normal sha. Like a 2 hour charge duration can take 6 hours with this charger. Chai...Those days sha😄 |
Crime / Re: Simon Ekpa Claims Responsibility For Killing Of Four Police Officers In Imo by Nikes(m): 2:52pm On Jul 31 |
goodnessme1:This is a sensible submission right here. This Ekpa guy is the worst thing to happen to the Biafran struggle. I remember countering one useless guy here on nairaland who was praising this evil guy's actions and the guy abused me. I then told him that may the fate of all those who fell victim to Ekpa's antics visit him and his family. The guy never responded. They claim to be fighting for their people but are still the ones putting their fellow brothers and sisters in untold hardship. Meanwhile the people they claim to be fighting against are in a far away region of the country living their lives without glitches. I don talk tire . Nothing concern me again. Thank God I do leave Owerri |

Politics / Re: Happening Now: Heavy Gunshots In Owerri by Nikes(m): 2:39pm On Jul 31 |
Maysdevices:Something smells fishy but at the end of the day, yes, igbo people are behind this. It's simple. The east has been a bit unstable in recent years. APC want to use that as leverage to prevent the people from coming out to protest. They contact the Ndigbo on their payroll to do something. Their Ndigbo people contact hoodlums to do their thing. Shikenan. Now tomorrow go reach but people go fear to commot 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Umar Zulum: Borno Governor's Son Denies Killing Someone In India by Nikes(m): 8:41am On Jul 19 |
D3rd:Are you aware that the children of lots of wealthy northerners never schooled In Nigeria? The guy I mentioned did all his schooling in Egypt, only came back home during the holidays. We got to meet during his undergrad and like most I thought he was uneducated until I got to know him better. I worked at a private school dominated by Muslims from Northern and western extraction. I'm talking about 99.9%. These kids couldn't string a correct sentence to save their lives. But most of them could read and write Arabic. One of the boys even taught me a little back then. Most of those kids spoke languages and I'd tell you it takes some level of intelligence and dedication to learn a new language. One thing I'll never do is judge a person's intelligence or level of education by his ability to speak English. |
Politics / Re: Umar Zulum: Borno Governor's Son Denies Killing Someone In India by Nikes(m): 9:57pm On Jul 18 |
D3rd:How does proficiency in the English language correlate with intelligence abeg? Cos if it does then everyone in the UK is intelligent. I know a guy from a Kano royal family who finds it hard to string an English sentence. Yet with all my English I can't compete with this guy at all. He speaks Hausa which is his native tongue, Arabic, Russian and English. He's most fluent in Arabic. Has an Msc from the University of Cairo. So abeg tell me how English take be measure of one's intelligence 2 Likes |

Crime / Re: Death Penalty: Supreme Court Discharges Soldier After 12 Years In Prison by Nikes(m): 9:13am On Jun 29 |
I don't support violence on civilians in any way but to be honest soldiers also face situations with civilians that if not acted upon promptly might lead to the end of their life. During endsars a soldiers I know got killed by civilians because he tried to be civil with them. They snatched his gun and shot him dead. Another soldier had to act promptly during a mild crisis in a community in imo state. Boys were all charged up and the soldiers came to settle them down. In the process one of the boys who thought he was immortal started walking towards one of the soldiers menacingly. Baba offed him right there. He faced disciplinary actions sha but at the end of the day he did what was necessary to preserve his life. The matters sha dey complicated. May God help us 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Hardship In Nigeria: How These People Are Surviving? (pix) by Nikes(m): 3:52pm On Jun 27 |
AntiChristian:You said Islam doesn't support begging but why do Islamic leaders turn a blind eye to this act? Infact some perpetuate this act of begging. There's a mosque I usually pass by in bauchi. In the morning these boys gathers there with their plates ànd all, all geared up for the day. An elderly man addresses them before they set out. I just shake my head. Would it be difficult for a Muslim, who's ready to give a Christian man the whole world just so he can convert to his religion, to take these kids off these streets? Enroll them in a trade school, have them use their God given talents for something. It's really pathetic to be honest. At a traffic stop I once saw a boy begging. Next to him was another with a bunch of facemasks in his hands selling. Just pathetic to be honest 1 Like |

I wish all Nigerians would unite in one voice and protest against the injustices of this government. U see that unity? E go hard for us. Endsars gave me hope before but it didn't take long before o realised that the north shall always remain what it is. I remember one argument we had with a guy in nysc camp then. Na my guy but na small thing remain I for punch am for ear. The north only cares when they're subjected to isolated persecution. But you see anything like bad government wey affect everybody? Politics / Re: Last Words Of DC. Andrew Essien While Facing Reps Committee by Nikes(m): 10:47am On Jun 26 |
His underlying medical condition may have been triggered by the prospect of facing the committee panel. Omo I remember when I took up a Job sometime ago. This person stressed the hell out of me until I started having serious heart burn for no reason. The day I dropped that job and returned the balance I slept like a baby and bade my goodbyes to BP spikes. |
Food / Re: How I Used My Home-Made Cassava Flour To Make Paw-Paw Pie, Buns And Chin Chin by Nikes(m): 4:02am On Jun 20 |
RevenuesBoost: Youŕe right. Even though cassava is produced in the south south and south east more than any other region, its range of functionality over there is very limited. I lived in the East for some years and I remember the strange look on market women's faces each time I tell them I'm looking for cassava flour. The few who know will ask what I want to do with it. Telling them I want to make swallow with it will only draw looks of surprise. Very few people know about it. However in the north and Middle belt it is a very popular meal. Northerners use cassava flour or Alibo as its popularly known a lot for pastries and other things. They even use cassava to make Akara popularly known as 'kosain rogo'. The meal is popular amongst market women and children. 1 Like |

perdollar:Growing up where I did there were more low ranking 'senior' soldiers from the northern extraction than any other region. This has nothing to do with tribe or religion. My Pop's coursemate, a fulani man, was still a corporal when my father became a Master Warrant Officer. There are many factors here. Soldiers can be demoted as a disciplinary measure, some may not be able to scale the minimum course requirements for promotion, some may have personal beef with their commanding officer, some may belong to corps that hardly see the light of promotion in due time( same in the US military where the marines are always lagging behind In terms of promotion), e.t.c. like I said I has nothing to do with tribe. That's just how the military is. |
