Today, Anambra has one of the least poverty rates in the country. Top 3 in education. If Peter Obi can turn Nigeria like that as he did Anambra I'll.rather take that. |

ImperialYoruba: Obi's opportunity to face Tinubu is coming.
On this outing though, Tinubu wanted to make a statement and show that Obi is not prime asset for the office of Presidency. He has achieved that goal and Shettima has shown us that the VP of Tinubu is more brilliant and an asset far above Presidential candidate Obi.
Admit defeat. But get your candidate polished for public speaking. When he debates Tinubu international media will be there. All that charade with kneeling and gallivanting up and down stage will not count towards points in the debate. Get him thoroughly polished and ready, he is coming into the bullpen to face the Titan of Nigerian politics. and you also try to get Tinubu health in order by that time ok |

casualobserver: ist of all Obi wont win, secondly i am sure she has acquired American citizenship, so she is ineligible for any political post in Nigeria. Thirdly why is she even qualified for minister of education, what does she know about the education system?
Has she been a teacher or owned a school? has she ever managed anything, any organisation? she writes novels...so fucking what? how does that qualify her to direct the affairs of our education sector? you people dont think right!!! the ones that have held posts howfa? Mtcheeew. If you don't give her opportunity how will she prove it? When does akunyili came and did well as minister under Obasenjor how many posts did she hold in Nigeria before them? People like you are part n parcel of our problems. Denying her opportunity simply because you don't like her tribe...if she was Yoruba u know for talk. |

Privatepart00: When a union goes for industrial action (strike) FG ought to pay them for 3 months starting from the day it commenced then if on the 4th month they haven’t suspended or worked partially, “no work , no pay policy” will be introduced. FG chaired by Minister of Labour stopped the salary without following due process. Federal institute of Science and technology is on strike since last year which PRODA falls under but their staffs get paid every 25th of the month without working. Till date they are still getting paid .
They should withdraw salary money from the bank it was placed on fixed deposits and pay staffs . The main strike will start if salary of 6months isn’t paid. Other unions ain’t forfeiting their salary , incase you think they forfeited it. hmmm wow then the govt should hear them |
Education › Re: SSANU, NASU, NAAT and FG’s Negotiation Committee to Meet on Friday by Niklaus398: 2:46pm On Aug 19, 2022 |
Privatepart00: NAAT comprises of technologists that overseas practical courses . ASUU can’t conduct practicals in various universities because they do not what to do . They are more of theoretical work . Lecturers teach the theory while technologists demonstrates the practical aspect for students to understand better.
NASU comprises junior staff and other non academic staffs , without them no light, no water in campus , lecture venues, hostel , offices will be locked . When NASU shakes in their respective university you will understand how far .
All four unions NAAT, ASUU, NASU , SSANU must work together for any university to function properly. Those salary will be paid , FG can prolong it to 9months if they like . Their business Hmmm wow. I understand now. But I feel ASUU should have pity call off their strike for students sake. Forgo like 2 months salary. |

sinkhole: SSANU can not be part of ASUU, because Bursars and Registrars are part of SSANU and those are not academic positions at all, but perhaps, some of them could be part of ASUU, e.g., University Librarian and VC. Oh ok thanks for the explanation. It seems they might suspend it not end it. |

sinkhole: But, there is one thing that is confusing me Is it that the other unions that agreed to FG proposals also agreed to forfeit 3 to 4 months salaries? I don't know about that. But maybe they agreed to forfeit that. I want to know something, what good is the Ssanu, Naat and the rest? Why is it that if they're on strike students aren't really interested or overly affected unlike ASUU?. Shouldn't Ssanu be part of ASUU? |
Education › Re: SSANU, NASU, NAAT and FG’s Negotiation Committee to Meet on Friday by Niklaus398: 7:17pm On Aug 18, 2022 |
JJuanMiguel: The belief and guarantee that they would always get paid during or after every strike is an incentive for ASUU to always go on annual long vacations in the name of strikes.
We are all fighting against this evil government. The students have lost and are losing time, which is not recoverable, I'm sure ASUU won't mind losing a few months salary. Afterall, we are in this together and FG is the villain. well said. |
Education › Re: SSANU, NASU, NAAT and FG’s Negotiation Committee to Meet on Friday by Niklaus398: 7:16pm On Aug 18, 2022 |
sinkhole: The whole thing is complicated! If the witheld salaries are not paid, then ASUU will say that whatever was left undone after the strike will never be completed and that they will just start afresh with a new session! The implication of this may be, for instance, if you just finished your first semester without result, before the strike, then after resumption, your results will never be released and you will then move to second semester or even start a new session and when you finally graduate, your GPA will not cumulate to the minimum for graduation and you will be forced to spend extra year again! In summary, every Nigerian Federal University students will automatically defer a session let ASUU be considerate atleast. The govt has acceded to all their demands they could let this one go or say the govt should pay them 2 months of the 5...that will be better |

If I were to be Tinubu, I'll put pressure on this government to settle ASUU strike because assuredly it will hit him badly if it get to next year. Imagine 3 million students with PVCs angered by the strike vote against apc.. though there's more students with PVC but lets put it at 3M ... The govt and Tinubu is really though. I guess they're depending on rigging where go fail them. They will learn the hard way. Last lass, Tinubu fans will blame buhari for not doing well when apc does lose come 2023 |
