Lol, I have been saying that long term stuff is shyte. We cannot continue to do long term projects else, we would be satisfied with top 4 finishes and no trophies every damn year because we are building for the future. Fire, sack, hire and even rehire. That’s the template that guarantees trophies.

This appointment is not bad because it is an interim stuff, and, I believe we are aiming to get another manager by the end of the season. I guess he will be a football director (indirectly) starting from summer next year, that’s absolutely fine an arrangement.

I guess the issue is around how to fair value players. Is there a standardized methodology for valuation of players? Otherwise, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. If there is no widely accepted methodology, the club just need to find a counter party that agrees with its valuation and instead of this party paying for the player, they swap.

I wouldn’t know accounting firms’ take on this, but it would be good if reference is made to say transfermkt’s database for the base valuation of every player.
