I can't stand anyone defending Amorim currently. Moyes went to Everton who were relegation contenders and in 8 games won 4, draw 2 and lost 2. Think about it for a second. Proof of funds is usually a bank letter or investment certificates or evidence showing you personally have the funds for a transaction. Our guy went to a bank for a guarantee which even if accepted, would have been a debt from QNB with the club repaying the debt.

Any bank can provide a guarantee for a billion dollar transaction as long as the billion dollar assets being funded would be considered collateral if the guarantee is used.

At worse, baba suppose even provide PoF with his family name given the family is worth hundreds of billions. He went to get a guarantee from a bank.

A bank guarantee is not a direct source of funds. You can’t take a bank guarantee to a multi billion dollar transaction table at the New York stock exchange. Plus the guarantee would have been a loan from the Bank of Qatar. That guy is a joker.

Individual net worth is not useless as that’s where the money to spend will come from. Mansour’s family is also rich, but it would be difficult for him to ask his Popsy and aunties to direct their funds at City. His individual capacity of 20bn was key to ensuring he could spend whatever, whenever and however he wants. Plus sports/football is one of his major investments.

What’s annoying is that we got him before mid season. There was a lot of expectations, and even if things won’t go well this season, at least try to experiment and stop sticking to something that is not working.

I don’t see anything special happening next season, as we don’t have the funds to do another overhaul in the summer. We just had one recently. Plus if we go all out for him, and he fails, then we would be in a much deeper shit.

I believe that is their plan, flush everyone out gradually and build whatever they want.
So the 1st phase is to show everyone how horrible they are. Tweaking the system to keep the players is out of the question.
