Yyeske:The massacre was the reason why Biafrans fought like lions. They believed the FG was out to exterminate them. |
edoyad:I dey here brah! Nor vex this doesnt cut it for me. When you are dealing with a government that is big on propaganda and light on action you have to dig deep. The reuters article I posted quoted GE Execs. Bros who is Thisday quoting? |
Of course we know God no dey sleep. Col Taiwo, the beast who organised the massacre who is pictured here was gruesomely shot to pieces in the 1976 coup attempt by Dimka's men in his home state and was buried by his mother. Murtala his boss who approved the killings was shot by the same coup plotters.

gaddafe:You are lying and doing a very weak job. Show a little proof and spare me the jokes |
SuperS1Panther:How does this post prove that your assertion is a dirty weak lie |
SlayerSupreme:Nigeria is already paying. People are killed like chickens every day and life is cheap. It is also a poverty stricken country with little or no infrastructure. Ghana small as it is has more respect than Nigeria |
Aquariann:This is rather weak propaganda. Nigeria is a bloodthirsty monster that is paying for its sins. Show us where Biafran troops committed atrocities. No be matter of "my uncle for village tell me say..." |
SuperS1Panther:Biafran soldiers NEVER committed any atrocities. Liars go to hellfire |
HungerBAD:The PDP he founded was good until Obasanjo and Co seized it |
Nigeria missed it when Obasanjo won PDP ticket instead of Ekwueme in 1999. |
See Oshoko o. Why is he ethnicising the matter? I guess Fayose is affirming that Tinubu is the leader of the Yorubas. Interesting. |
We all welcome the persistent appeal by Femi Aribisala and some other well-meaning Yoruba for meaningful understanding and co-operation between the Yoruba and Ndi-Igbo. They insist and we agree that it is such relationship that can put this country on the path of redemption. To put it bluntly, without Yoruba/Igbo cooperation this country cannot stand. But the problem is really with the Yoruba NOT Ndi-Igbo who from the beginning had stood out to uphold the Lugardian creation called Nigeria even if created on wrong and weak foundation. We do not need to overstretch this point; the nationalist struggle by Nnamdi Azikiwe and the Zikists in the 1930s to independence in 1960 is familiar with all for us; equally the obstacle by Awolowo (Yoruba) Sir Ahmadu Bello (Fulani) to the evolution of this country as a nation are well known . In this triangular relationship it has been the Yoruba who held the ace between the struggles for a United Nigeria espoused by Ndi-Igbo on the one hand the opposition against the achievement of that goal by the Fulani on the other. Whether by design or by accident the stand of Yoruba in this struggle has consistently impinged on the political development of this country. This is not meant to be an indictment of the Yoruba but a call for them to appreciate their key role in the development of this country, without which the country will inevitably and ultimately disintegrate. There is no doubt about it. Maybe it is appropriate to explain further. The Yoruba’s intrigues and alliances with the Fulani have been the problem of Nigeria. We can go a little back into history to explain: 1. In the nineteenth (19th) century it was the revolt of the Are Ona Kakanfo (Generalissmo) Afonja, with the help of Fulani immigrant and Islamic Scholar, Salihu Janta(aka Alimi) that wrenched off Ilorin from the Yoruba Characteristically the treacherous Alimi assassinated Afonja in 1824 and installed his (Alimi’s) son Abdusalami as the Emir of Ilorin. By 1895 the Yoruba felt that they had had enough and revolted burning the Emirs Palace while assassinating him; but the harm has been done, the British Colonial Administration had taken over and reinstated the Fulani Colonization of Ilorin. 2. At the eve of Independence another Are Ona Kankanfo in the person of Chief S.L Akintola betrayed the Yoruba people in collaboration with Fulani Sokoto Caliphate. That betrayal brought about the colonization of the West by the Fulani and the Civil war. 3. In spite of himself, Chief Awolowo collaborated with the Fulani ostensibly to fight Ndi-Igbo. The bait was the control of the finances of the country, while the Fulani schemed to and truly consolidated their conquest of the Yoruba. 4. M.K.O. Abiola, another Are Ona Kakanfo behaved true to type and paid appropriate price. The Fulani collaborators who encouraged him even to attempt the demystification of Awolowo at a convenient time just removed him from the scene, and dug deeper in their grip on the West. 5. The current Yoruba generalissimo Alhaji Bola Tinubu the other day was boasting that he literally plucked out Buhari from retirement to use him remove President Jonathan. I believe that if he has been sober enough to seriously appraise Buhari’s administration so far he would have discovered that he has in fact sold Yoruba like his counterparts of old. The Fulani have continued to consolidate their conquest of the West. They now control the seaport, and the jetties, appropriate 80% of oil wells in the south, are building gigantic industries in Lagos and other parts of the West, ousted the Yoruba from Banks and insurance establishments, etc. Tinubu gloats over the fact that he controls some “key ministries” but this is an illusion. Meanwhile Buhari’s Fulani have seized the entire security outfits in the country including the Police, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Immigration, Military Intelligence, EFCC, etc. How many Yoruba are in the reckoning? The truth is that with Tinubu’s behavior as Are Ona Kakanfo the conquest of the West by the Fulani has been completed and Sir. Ahmadu Bello’s boasting of dipping the Koran in the sea will appear to have been accomplished from the Western end of Nigeria. The only problem in the Fulani’s quest for the total conquest of Nigeria is thwarted in the Eastern flank of the country. They have made several attempts in the past and have continued to do so, but they cannot succeed. Yes the cost of the resistance has been high but the Easterners cannot accept to be enslaved and Islamized. The only option open to this country and acceptable to the East is restructuring of the country with attendant devolution of powers as recommended by the 2014 National Conference. The Fulani do not want this implemented because their eyes are set on conquest. The Yoruba agree with the East and the rest of the country (other than the Fulani) that restructuring is the only solution to the country’s problem. But they need to be aggressive about it. If today the Yoruba throw in the weight forcefully behind this national desire, the reform will come up tomorrow. The ball is therefore in the court of the Yoruba. They should escape from Afonja/Akintola/Abiola/Tinubu… syndrome and join hands with the East to redeem the country. Maybe we can remind them of the slogan they popularized in the 1960s: YORUBA RONU." |
obailala:No be fraction na more than half. My point is simple bros GEJ shall forever be the MAN because its forever on record that he started the 2NB. Shikena |
obailala:So you have agreed that GEJ set funds aside for 2NB and that there is an international airport in Enugu. I am satisfied |
obailala:1. SHUO! He put more than 50% of the FG's share of the funding for the project. Is that not money set aside to ensure consummation of the project? Abi you dont understand the nature of the 2NB? Read up- "According to the NSIA, the Nigerian government has so far disbursed N18.3 billion of her N30 billion commitment to the project" 2. Is there or is there not a functional international airport with cargo facilities? Na wa to you o! "First cargo plane lands at Enugu Airport ON August 24, 2016 6:30 AM ENUGU—The first cargo plane yesterday landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. The landing of the Ethiopian Airline Boeing 757 cargo plane was witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd and other dignitaries including Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi." |
sarrki:Oga you are biased. Jona kept money aside for the second niger bridge. Google am Start with this- http://m.guardian.ng/news/nigeria/fg-disburses-n18-3b-counterpart-funds-for-second-niger-bridge/ |
mrvitalis:Which govt was the first to embrace innoson vehicles? Is Enugu airport an international airport or not? On second niger bridge go and do your research. Go and find out what NSCIA is. Start here - http://venturesafrica.com/nigerias-sovereign-wealth-releases-fund-for-726m-niger-bridge/ http://m.guardian.ng/news/nigeria/fg-disburses-n18-3b-counterpart-funds-for-second-niger-bridge/ |
mrvitalis:For one thing he gave SE industries a good deal of support by encouraging the likes of Innoson to key into his automotive industry policies. Even gave consent to Airforce to service our planes. Imagine the boost to the capacity of the industry Made sure Enugu Airport was gazetted as international and is now equipped for cargo. Sotay we can now export vegetables Second Niger Bridge funds he set aside can build the bridge if this government is interested in applying them A few others I cant recall now |
sarrki:Na so my guy no shaking. So far the man himself does not invoke ethnic/religious divisions people will support him |
Igboid:Ndi Igbo don wise up. You are so on point. |
I loveJonathan but this road issue always makes me very angry with him when I remember it. Not that he didnt do some things right for SE but this sticks out like a sore thumb |
rlauncher:We have provided our counterpart funding to China for the building of our standard gauge Lagos -Kano railway. Meanwhile, General Electric is investing two point two billion USD in a concession to revamp, provide rolling stock, and manage the existing lines, including the Port Harcourt-Maiduguri Line. The Lagos-Calabar railway will also be on stream soon. https://www.naij.com/990686-well-deal-militants-recession-9-takeaways-buharis-independence-day-speech.html |
I keep on saying GEJ was a blessing in disguise. He has demystified a lot in this country including the business racket that the SW has made of restructuring since Awolowo famously declared "forget the past" and went to serve in Gowon's illegal military unitary regime. Tinubu who was the loudest voice for restructuring for decades saw it on a platter of gold offered by Jonathan but rejected it outright for a shot at being Vice President. Despite his lackeys inciting tribalism and calls for oduduwa republic throughout the Jonathan years. Today APC is in power and the SW faction that should be pushing the agenda is totally silent. We are smarter now... |
edoyad:I hope for his sake he's just pretending not to understand |

8. On railways We have provided our counterpart funding to China for the building of our standard gauge Lagos -Kano railway. On October 1, PMB said General Electric was set to invest USD2.2 Billion in Nigeria but it turns out it was actually USD150 million. Why must Buhari misinform Nigerians in our independence day speech? Why tell lies that people can easily verify? Has any other president of Nigeria told us as many lies as this one? Why must this man keep disgracing us everywhere? http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN1231LX U.S. industrial firm General Electric (GE.N) plans to invest around $150 million in Nigeria by 2017, a senior executive said on Monday. "There are development projects where we are investing," Jay Ireland, chief executive of General Electric in Africa told the FT Africa Summit in London. GE would also invest in oil and gas industry projects. Growth in Nigeria - an OPEC member whose economy, the largest in Africa, is in recession for the first time in more than 20 years due to low oil prices - has been stunted for decades by a lack of investment in its road and rail network. Ireland said the Nigeria investment was part of a plan to spend $2 billion in Africa in coming years. But the $150 million Nigerian investment falls short of the sum Nigeria's government has said GE would invest. President Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday in a speech marking Nigeria's independence day, said GE was "investing $2.2 billion in a concession to revamp, provide rolling stock, and manage" some of the country's railway lines.
