Ph sir. Why?
Was thinking it was abroad because it is abroad such things happen. There are some monies spent by a man that most times if the wife knows, there will be trouble. Monies sent to relatives and monies sent to childhood friends(males and females) who could have fallen on bad times and whom the wife does not really like.

It happens. Women that are full house wives are closer to the school, they do get inflated bills from the school.

At times if you try to pay directly to the school bank account, the school usually refund the excess to the women. If the school does not agree they will threaten the school and convince the husband that the children should be withdrawn to other schools.
Women who do this know their husbands financial capabilities and women are the ones who shop for schools for the children
Maybe the kids are in primary school or in a less structured secondary school. For a man that pays the wife a monthly salary of 150k, if the kids are in secondary, i expect such secondary to be a structured secondary school with all the online access of bills payment or transfer or draft.

This story is very generic and refers to no one in particular, take it to heart at your own risk cos I won't bother responding to criticism.
It is not an advise!

So you want to marry a woman that is not poor? What is your definition of a poor woman?

I think one should not marry a lazy woman, with the wrong attitude about money. This include making of money and management of money.
Avoid women and people with an entitlement mentality.

Avoid selfish people.

A lady once got in touch with me on Nairaland, she is a full time house wife. She wanted to invest N10 millon. I always ask people the source of their funds
The woman said her husband placed her on a monthly salary of 150k every month, she inflated house expenses and the children school fees. Which she claimed she uses in settling her parents and siblings expenses.

I now told her to first of all discuss with her husband, because my wife always seek my advice whenever she wants to invest.

But this woman said she could not tell her husband, she said if the husband should know that she has that type of fund, the husband might reduce her salary, reduce house upkeep allowance, start paying the school fees himself and scrutinize all expenses.

Apart from that she said her husband was currently broke, he needed a loan of N5 million from his bank that will fetch him a profit of N2 million.

I sha advised her to buy money market funds, but whenever I remember that encounter it makes me to fear and respect some women.

Madam don't be offended if you are reading this, I didn't put your name. We are only sharing experience.
Hmmmmm. Interesting. How can a man not know the school fees of his children?. That means the man does not go through their academic report at the end of the term. I believe this happens only if the man cannot read and write.

Why do guys get married to people they don't trust?

I have my wifes bank app on my phone, she has mine on hers, I can move money between both accounts as I please, she can also do the same. She has access to my ATMs, has my pins and I also have access to hers.

Our "joint" account is in mutual funds. We both have the login details and can fund/withdraw independently.

God forbid if any of us dies tomorrow, the other has total control over any money left behind.
Where are you presently based?.

BGL has made restitutions to those who invested in the fund in question. That is the essence of investing in SEC regulated investments
Is BGL still in operation as in buying and selling stocks for clients?.

I certainly owe my kid a better citizenship but they are too young to move on their own and moving madam away is risky......
A guy i know moved his wife and young kids to Canada and remained here working. After a time, the separation became unbearable for the kids as the kids kept on crying everyday to see him. He had to leave Naija to go and join them. You know in abroad that it is everybody minding his/her business. No family members and friends coming to visit.

FamilyRe: What's The Rationale Behind Same Sex Schools by NL1960: 1:07pm On Apr 23, 2020
Mizwisdom:
1. It levels the playing field for girls in the public school system.
Data gathered from the U.S. Census Bureau and NCES shows that 54% of students in the average classroom are boys. If you take grades 1-12 by themselves, that figure is still 51% to 49% for the girls. That means there are more opportunities for boys to take over the learning experience since they are in the majority. Their contributions are usually rewarded because teachers believe that action encourages their participation.
When Jefferson Leadership Academies created entirely single-gender classes in 1999, girls did immediately better in science and math.

2. Having a classroom with both genders can create distractions.
Although the distractions of a mixed-gender classroom usually begin in the upper grade levels, there can be issues in grades 1-4 in the United States as well. Children can talk about the “crushes” they have on each other, test out the idea of a “relationship,” and focus more on the social elements found in the classroom instead of their educational processes.
Since boys can be impulsive more often than girls, the goal of creating a single-gender classroom is to create an environment that meets individualistic needs while still encouraging socialization. By eliminating the distractions that exist to learning, it becomes easier to retain the knowledge that teachers offer.

3. It can produce specific benefits consistently.
Research on single-gender classrooms consistently shows that girls who receive opportunities to learn STEM-based principles away from boys have significantly higher grades than those who are in a coeducational environment. Math and science among girls are much stronger with this advantage in particular. Although some of the other subjects do not receive the same boost in scores, the weakest areas in education for women today become stronger when there is an opportunity at separation.
That means a school could counter a poor performance in STEM-related categories by creating gender-specific classrooms in this area while still emphasizing co-education in the other fields.

4. This structure can reinforce the traditional roles of gender in society.
Even when we promote gender equality in society, there are specific ways that women are better than men and vice-versa. Instead of trying to normalize these differences by dragging individual strengths toward weaknesses, the single-gender classroom environment can help students implement their best attributes in ways that are equitable, healthy, and cooperative. Although this advantage may not apply to the most assertive girls or passive boys in a school, there are still ways to help each child learn to recognize what they are good at doing – and then encourage them to keep practicing that skill.

5. It removes the unnatural structures that are in the coeducational environment.
There are core gender differences that lead to different biological development in boys and girls. The former typically learns mathematics faster, while the latter picks up language concepts and reading with a greater intensity. That doesn’t make one method right and the other wrong. It just means that instead of equalizing the learning processes in this situation, teachers can use the same-gender structure to promote the most robust curriculum possible to increase knowledge at the correct time of a student’s development.
When boys are held back from math or girls asked to stop their language development, then it becomes a challenge for that student to reach their full potential. Single-gender classrooms make it easier to avoid that problem.

6. There is less bullying that happens in the single-gender classroom.
Although there are classrooms where aggressive boys and girls can trigger bullying behaviors in themselves and others, this issue is significantly reduced in the single-gender classroom. There are more opportunities for boys in this environment to pursue music and the arts because there are fewer issues with intimidation. Girls experience this advantage by having more opportunities in mathematics and science. Since there are fewer options to feel scared or embarrassed in front of the opposite sex, there are more chances to enjoy self-exploration and product better grades because of it.

7. There can be fewer issues with reproductive health problems.
By then age of 18, over half of teenagers in the United States say that they have had at least one sexual encounter. It usually occurs with someone who is a serious boyfriend or girlfriend, but it can be a casual friend, an acquaintance, or even a stranger in some situations. This statistic is consistent in religious schools as well. When students are placed in single-gender classrooms, the risk for STIs and STDs won’t disappear, but it can be significantly reduced. It eliminates the impulsiveness that distractions cause in the classroom, reduces sexually-fueled aggression, and encourages students to focus more on their intimate relationships outside of the classroom.

8. Students still have an opportunity to participate in after-school activities.
High schools that promote single-gender classrooms still provide sports, creative endeavors like art and band, and other after-school activities just as a coeducational environment provides. Although there are some changes that can be spotted (like a lack of cheerleaders), students receive the same options to be active in whatever pursuits are of interest to them. There are multiple ways to pursue character development opportunities and mixed-gender classrooms are only one of those options.

9. It eliminates the double standard that exists for girls.
Coeducational opportunities typically hold girls to different aesthetic standards than boys, even when the dress code is simple or casual. Many of the regulations that are in place involve apparel that girls typically wear to school. Instead of teaching kids about equality, they create single-gender perspectives through the implementation of different policies and procedures that involve student appearance.
As NEA Today pointed out in 2018, many school districts use dress codes that have gendered language. “Girls must not show cleavage or wear spaghetti straps,” is just one example. The reason for this issue is the “distraction” that this could cause the boys. It is a form of victim-blaming that disappears if a single-gender classroom policy is in place. To make matters even worse, it can be almost impossible to find clothing that meets the expected standards of gender-based dress code
You nailed it.

I attended a mixed boarding school. In my class of 35 students, there were only 7 girls. Just imagine the ratio and the attendant 'fight to finish' among the boys to win any girl with the attendant distraction on the girls. Imagine five or more boys toasting a girl at the same time. cheesy

Assuming you open a savings account at 4% per annum last year January and this year the same bank is now offering savings account at 3.6% per annum, will it affect the account you opened earlier?
Yes. Interest is accrued everyday at current rate. It is only if it is a term(fixed) deposit that it will not affect it because a term or fixed deposit is a contract while a savings account is not a contract.

:Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja
Graceland High School, PH
Jesuit Memorial College, PH
Ambassadors College,Ota

These are the most academically consistent schools in the country right now. They all seem to be christian-oriented.

I'd also mention Nigerian Turkish Intl Schools (Abuja and Ogun) but they aren't christian oriented.
Loyola Jesuit Abuja and Jesuit Memorial PH have already done their common entrances and they do not have second batch. The pass rate is always very high in the common entrance. So no room for second batch as the common entrance acceptance rate by parents of those that pass is very high. The OP started late in his search.

Thank you. She is a girl and I prefer full boarding either mixed or single sex. Good missionary Schools in the Lagos-Ogun axis will be nice. Ondo state will be fantastic. Do you know about the Babcock university high school in Ogun state?
I do not know about them. It should be a good school being that it is owned by Babcock University. I rate Babcock university highly. The schools i considered for my daughter then were:

(1) Loyoya Jesuit, Abuja (mixed and boarding)
(2) Holy Child College, SW Ikoyi, Lagos (Girls only and boarding)
(2) Louisville Girls High school, Ijebu Itele, Ogun state (Girls only and boarding)

I finally settled for Holy Child College as Loyola Jesuit was a bit on the high side for me. No complaints so far and she is now in JSS 3.

Btw, Jesuit Memorial PH is equally good but they have conducted their common entrance. If you are interested in them, you can find out from them if they have second batch.

Thanks a lot. It's for this 2020/2021. My consideration is not limited to Christian schools but schools some good academic and moral track record. I live in PH and I know most schools here are just business enterprises where all that is required is to pay their fees and you're enrolled. I want Schools with some level of academic competitiveness and not just money as mode of enrollment.
Iam not familiar with missionary schools in PH. Most high level missionary schools are presently doing their common entrances. You might still get a chance for second batch for some of them. Iam only familiar with missionary schools in the Lagos and Ogun states axis. The academic and moral discipline is quite high. In addition, you might need to specify your preferences for people to better help you. Things like:

(a) Is the child a boy or a girl
(b) Single sex school(i.e. boys or girls only) or mixed
(c) Full Boarding or Day or a mix of the two
(d) preferred location

Hello, am searching for secondary school for my daughter and someone recommended Babcock university High School. Does anyone know about the school or other schools, christian based preferably. I also have Deeper Life High School and Faith Academ on the list. I reside in Port Harcourt. Some experienced advise will really be appreciated.
Try Jesuit Memorial, PH. It is the Abuja Loyola Jesuit school in PH. If the admission is for 2020/2021 session, you are already late as the common entrance has already been done. Admission into that school and that of Loyola Jesuit, Abuja is very competitive.

Btw, is your consideration only for christian based secondary schools in PH?.

I don’t know how much quarter plot land will cost in your area just make inquiries. As for building projects I advice anyone do not contract out buy all your materials yourself and get labor pay per day and supervise them all through thank me later coz you will save a lot

I disagree. It doesn't follow with the Onitsha style of housing business. Having it four storey is the way to go about it. Space management, elegance of the finished structure would be more appealing than when it's mere bungalow apartments.

Checkout architectural designs of such multistorey apartments online, and you'll like what you see

Four storey building with 16 flats will be quite a challenge to manage in this country with all the tenants issues. You might not be that lucky to get 16 good tenants. I will go with @Legendguru option.

Oando made a mistake by being too optimistic. The company bought the asset of Conoco Phillips at about $1.4 billion when COP was living Nigeria. They bought the asset when crude oil was selling at around $100 per barrel, not quite long after the purchase by Oando.

The issue between Saudi, OPEC and Shale Oil producers, this imbroglio made the price of crude oil to go down to as low as $20 per barrel due to price war between OPEC cartel and Shale Oil guys in North America.

This disruption, adversely affected the projection of Oando. Oando made a record loss after tax of over N220 billion in corporate Nigeria around 2017.

That was how people were pressuring my Chairman to build a property for his company at Apapa instead of letting. He refused. When we started loosing business because of the chaotic and terrible Apapa traffic, we had to run away from there to go and rent an office in a cool area where prospective clients had no issues coming to.
