At the beginning of this part, everyone celebrated your PPR gist. We would like to read your landing gist before this part ends. Please update us.
Topsmamen:
1. Common-Law Application: I think the major highlight of part 8 is @Sandydav's PPR here. Definitely a page 1 material.

2. Applying as self-employed: Information on applying as self-employed exists on PPR stories by njbybrthnly, shyee and bigfido and on some other posts/comments.

3. Gift Deeds: A gift deed sample can be found here. More details on gift deeds shared by @cochtrane here.

4. Child Custody: here

It will end in sweet praise for us all.

Yes. Include a link to that guy's story/case where he had paid RPR fee for himself and wife, but his wife was already PR and in Canada so his money was refunded by CIC subsequently. Sorry if my facts aren't all correct, but it's something along these lines. I don't know what page either. But it's in at least 2 places in this part. One was where he raised the issue, second was where he updated that his money was refunded.
ladymarshall:
In few more pages, we'll be moving to part 9. We're getting close to 500+

The new page one should be updated with latest information on ECA especially the new processing timelines;
Information on applying as self-employed should be added.

Any other vital info?

If you leave POF in your savings account, whatever bank it's with will help you reduce it sef with sundry charges so, that's also no interest savings.
realone2012:
Please guyz. who knows any non-interest investment/savings that one can do with the POF, and whose letter will be accepted as evidence of POF.

Your brother or sister in law here refers to you as PA claiming 15 points because your spouses brother or sister is a PR or citizen, not points for a siblings spouse who is PR or citizen.

Your sibling has to be a PR for you or your spouse (if any) to claim points.
Okay. So I take this to mean I can only claim points from a spouse's sibling and not from a sibling's spouse.

Thank you

Hmmm. LadyStencil. Actually, an applicant cannot claim points from his/her sibling’s spouse who has a brother or sister living in Canada or is a Canadian PR.

i.e. my brother’s wife (sister-in-law) has a sister in Canada. I cannot claim points from my sister-in-law’s sister. If my wife has a sister who is a PR, then I can claim points from my sister-in-law.

Applicants can claim points from their spouse’s sibling in Canada. I hope I have been able to convince you and not to confuse you that ......family is everything grin
Oh wow. Confusion has entered me. So I read that I can claim points from a sister in law who is a PR. I'm not going for sister in laws sibling. Just sister in law.

Stencil:
The question on the CRS tool is this:

Do you or your spouse or common law partner (if they will come with you to Canada) have at least one brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident?
Note: to answer yes, the brother or sister must be:

18 years old or older
related to you or your partner by blood, marriage, common-law partnership or adoption
have a parent in common with you or your partner
A brother or sister is related to you by:

blood (biological)
adoption
marriage (step-brother or step-sister)

If you answer yes to this, you will get the sibling points.

See? There is hope after all! smiley
Thank you. I think if I am reading it correctly, then my sister in law (a PR) can give me points.

Please what documents will be required to show the relationship, apart from the wedding certificate that shows she is married to my brother?

Maybe birth certificate of me and my brother to show we are siblings?

I suspect the person is referring to his/her siblings spouse having a brother or sister who is a Canadian PR or citizen. If the above is correct then you cannot claim points in this instance.
For clarity, I mean my brother's wife is a permanent resident (my brother does not yet have his PR). So can I claim points through her? Will this mean we are related by marriage and have a common parent?

I'm depressed
Same here o. The score of today removed all calm from my system.

Please who knows if siblings in law that are permanent resident can give one points?
