I enjoy tha NIV more, because it comes with clear understanding. minks: Studying the word of God is always refreshing and spiritually nourishing but studying a version that is hard to understand can make you not to enjoy the experience of studying the Bible.
I love the King James Bible but recently I found that I'm starting to like newer versions like The New International Version (NIV) and the English Standard Version (ESV).
So, what version do you enjoy studying? Share with us and maybe we could discover new versions of God's word that will aid our knowledge of God. |

Politics › Re: Osisioma Flyover'll Be Ready This Year, Gov Ikpeazu Assures Abians by nnenna311: 3:45pm On May 29, 2020 |
Metrix147: The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has sent a message of goodwill to the good people of Abia State on the fifth anniversary of his emergence as Governor of the State.
This is even as the governor insists that his vision is intact and journey on course.
In a release signed and made available to ABN TV by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, Ikpeazu while enumerating some milestones recorded in the provision of infrastructure in Aba expressed his resolve to do more, announcing that Osisioma flyover will be completed and commissioned this year.
"In Aba, our efforts at rebuilding broken infrastructure remains on course. We have rebuilt the first phase of Eziukwu Road, making it possible for our people to connect Eziukwu Road to Okigwe Road, something that has been impossible for several years. Work is ongoing at the adjoining Ojike and Milverton Roads, and they shall be ready in a short while. It is important to note that the Eziukwu Road project is designed to run all the way to Cemetery Road through the Market there. Our plan is to ensure that the entire stretch of Eziukwu Road is rebuilt to first-class standards.
"Work on Osusu Road has reached advanced stages and we make a commitment to complete it. I am also happy to announce to you that few days ago, we completed the first stage of the work on the Obikabia - Obikabia Road Project. Today, it is possible to drive smoothly from Obikabia Junction in Obingwa LGA all way down to Umuene Junction in Isiala Ngwa South LGA. This completed segment is over 30km and makes it easy to connect to the Enugu PH highway around Umuikaa Junction straight from the Ogbor Hill area. This road has opened up several rural and farming communities. The second phase of the project which will connect Umuene to Umuikaa Junction and Umuene to Obikabia or the Isiala Ngwa Junction will commence shortly.
"The Contractor that will handle the Okpu Umuobo- Mgboko Road has been mobilized with funds and he is expected to mobilize to the site shortly.
"Our flyover project, the Osisioma Interchange is fully on course and will be completed and commissioned this year for the use of our people" the statement read.

Sammy07: Okay, Let start from my last visit.
Disbursement of funds for construction of some states roads, kwara state is among and the road is completed, kwara state government is coming to open the road tomorrow.
Airports renovation He paid pensions I think to those pensioners that were not able to collect pensions.
Npower (at least I saw some people that benefit from this)
Increament of NYSC money
East west road in south south
Lagos deep port
Lagos ogun ibadan rail way
2nd Niger Bridge
Hydro electric power in the North (I think he did 2 or so)
He bought some fighter jets to counter insurgency
Rehabilitation and Expansion of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
. Reconstruction of Apapa — TinCan — Mile 2 — Oshodi- Oworonshoki expressway
Dualisation of Oyo-Ogbomosho road
Rehabilitation of Lagos-Otta-Abeokuta Road
Rehabilitation of Ikorodu-Sagamu Road Rehabilitation of outstanding sections of Sagamu-Ore Expressway
E plenty sha, this are the ones I could remember please don't mention East- West road the road is NOT motorable, am sure of the Delta and Rivers end of it. In fact Nkpolu Port Harcourt end is cut off. As for power and Education it's a total failure! Never had light two hours in a day for something this government promised to fix within six months in power. The truth is that the APC did not even know/understand the enormity of what Nigeria/governance is like, not until they got there and are overwhelmed. Go check all the 2015 promises, ranging from nothing like subsidy, we will employ 3million, defeat bokoharam, fix power in 6 months etc, NON of these had happened after 5 years. |

Sparkle777: Most of y'all hating on this man about the hotel dnt truly know the full story. The owner was a pdp youth leader who severally have been warned to shut down the place by ncdc but he continued partying and when ncdc kept coming there,he brought out his gun and shot at them. I mean who does this, he also was a threat to his community, always brash and too loud, the community celebrated the demolition. Even the land was confiscated, a primary sch wil be built there. keep shut for a story you knew nothing about! Osaro is NOT the owner of the hotel, rather the hotel manager called him when wike task force came who are people he knows and NOT ncdc official as you allude here. Where are you from? Who told you people are happy? |

[Did you read the part that says parents were buying things so that their children will be voted? And you call that 'a millennium idea'? This would have been good if the pulpils were allowed to campaign on their own without interference from parents which is as good as ' godfatherism, vote buying etc which is our pronlem today! It starts from here and you all are supporting this early evil that will grow to hunt you tomorrow.
quote author=Oluwahelpme post=87262254]We are in computer age. And those against this 'Kids politics' are still living in the 'stone age'. Our kids need to be exposed early enough to Nigeria politics. These kids will learn how to vote their leaders, and understand early enough the consequences of voting bad leaders to power. I wish all primary and secondary schools in Nigeria can emulate this innovation.
|

[Every thing is wrong in this arrangement, as parents we shouldn't encourage this, so as a parent if you don't have money to print posters and buy stuff for the school, your child may not be voted, because other parents had used money for campaigns. This is wrong in all remifications!

[You mean you see nothing wrong with a parent buying water dispeners for classes for them to vote their children or you didnt read that part? What do you now call vote buying in todays elerions? [Shaking my head for all of us].if this is done without any form of manipulations, just the pupils doing their oral campaigns within the school but definitely not the way it is reported here!
quote author=Munzy14 post=87260774] What is wrong?
You see my problem with most Nigerians, if politics in Nigeria started from this young age, we would av been in a better place now.. At this stage they can be guided and conformed to a liberal ideology of sportsmanship that exists between winner and loser.
Catch them young is the term.
I don't see anything wrong with this.
|

Ishilove: This is a rather painful exercise. I first read about his demise on a now deleted thread in this section, but i dismissed it as a joke done in bad taste, so you cannot imagine how flabbergasted I was when i got the tragic confirmation here- https://www.nairaland.com/5204257/kennedy-onoriode-ovabore-dies-after
I knew Hungerbad as Kenneth Marshal, not Kennedy Ovabore, but what is in a name?
He had his faults but he is human, just as the rest of us. Indegenous to Sapele, Delta state, he was a generous person who helped people a lot, and at one time was afraid of opening his mails because of the flood of financial requests always waiting for him.
Well, God knows best. Surely, God knows best. He will be fondly remembered by those whose life he touched.
I never imagined that I, of all people, will be the one to announce your death on Nairaland, Ken. Too bad.
Sleep well, soldier. Rest in peace, I really enjoyed you stay here. My respect! |

I can relate with her story, weeks ago had the same experience with aero coming from Lagos to Port-Harcourt, air-conditioning was not working, and with this deafening noise inside, had to stay on air for like 30mins just for them to say we are having technical issues. They landed us back to Lagos, repaired it and made us board the same aircraft and it went up again and triggered this horrible alarm. In all we landed in Port-Harcourt with so much discomfort and shouts of Hallelujah! |

Our attention has been drawn to the above incident which took place Emekuku on the 3rd of March, 2018 at the burial of Ezinne Mbata, mother of Mr Alex Mbata.
The reports had it that our respected clergy was insulted and harassed by agents of Chief Uche Nwosu, in-law and Chief of Staff to the Imo state governor while delivering a speech on the state of Imo.
We condemn in entirety the reported assault on our reverred priest and disassociate our party, the All Progressive Congress,APC from their action.
APC is a law-abiding party that believes in rule of law, respect for the clergy and Church and cannot be part of this sacrilege.
Signed: Chief Sam Godstime, Chairman APC Frontiers thought some people said it did not happen. Anyway until you suspend them from your APC, I doubt IMO people will forgive them. History may repeat itself. Lol |
