POLITICIANS ARE CASH MULES USED BY FOREIGNERS AS MERCENARY AT HOME

We are witnessing how African leaders use their country's land, resources, infrastructure as collateral for Odious Loans which both lenders and borrowers know are impossible to pay back. Humans are in a mental siege between wars and corruption of indifferent men who devise all kinds of ways to stay in Power to distract us, by any means necessary.

Lenders do not give loans unless it will be used to create jobs, materials, goods and services in their own countries. Even when International lenders like IMF or World Bank is involved, exorbitant fees to foreign accountants, lawyers not to mention kickbacks paralyzed poor countries because the money is laundered back into foreign banks. When caught and confiscated for foreign violations, it is paid back to those that would launder it again.

Men have sacrificed fellow men for dead kings to serve them after life. They have castrated slaves to watch over their wives. People have gathered to watch lynching of human beings. There is no limit men would not go to justify their gory uncivilized ambitions. Some of the victims have been blessed and consoled that they will reap rewards in heaven. No power can repress determined people from one generation to another forever. Violence beget violence.

Africans remember Patrice Lumumba humiliation and public execution in the hands of his own people remotely controlled by outside Power. Powerful countries do not get their hands dirty directly anymore in Third World politics, they participate by proxy achieving the same goal and in some cases worse than in the days of colonialism. Who can change the governments of Russia, China, America, Korea, India, Israel, Germany etc for their bad leaders?

Everyone with a million or more wants to know how far it would go overseas. The way you worked hard for your millions in Nigeria is the way they work overseas.

You blame leaders you praised and elected into Government since the 50s, 60s and 70s for everything but yourselves. Many of you the only time you are happy is when your kin that do not care about you is in power.

The 10 million naira you saved for years to Japa can establish business in Nigeria where you can employ others and live in relative comfort. But you want to sell your land, house, truck, lorry or tankers that made you millions to buy tickets.

Oponu, ask how much is 10 million naira in dollars and how poor people with 10k in dollars survive in America in a year.

Let us be sincere with ourselves. People who are at the bottom of the ladder in our country will continue to do anything to get money in order to become relevant.

We may not be able to cure the society of criminal activities completely but if our Youths have better alternatives in their villages, cities and states, many of them would think twice before crossing the sea, desert, prostitution, dare death penalty and glorify themselves as nuisance in other people's land.

Those who think they have nothing further to lose would do anything they feel elevate their status back home. No matter who they go through outside, they think is better than their status at home.

I do not care if a thief, a rogue, a looter or a drug mogul investigates and jail those like him. Send fire to fight fire.

We have two problems:

1. Nigeria has money problems because we don't make enough in comparison with our huge Population. Simply put; Nigeria is poor.

2. Majority of the money we make is stolen and we don't spend the little remaining wisely.

When General Gowon said money was not Nigeria's problem but how to spend it. He could have been right if he was referring to money as the last in the Yoruba Values System. Usually, we want to make enough money for basic needs, savings for emergencies, school, retirement or old age. Paying for necessities like food, rent and other monthly bills first. What is left is discretionary income to blow. Nigeria, without discretionary income, blew off its basic needs.

However, Gowon was referring to the avalanche of Oil money that lured the Nigerian Market, into the most liberal market in the world. It was based on the euphoria of foreign income that gave us a false sense of security that we could import any junk we want including pins, pencils, used goods, and garbage from the high seas. Sadly, Nigerians laundered money recklessly outside as if they have discretionary income.
