Education / Re: What Can I Do With Industrial Mathematics Degree In Nigeria by noblesam(m): 11:11am On Oct 21, 2021
Hi , i see this an old post . but for the purpose of people who are in same situation
First degree is just a starting point ...
They key thing is to have a very good grade.
Be intentional about which field you want to find your self -
For you it could be Banking , IT, Sales, Supply Chain , Financial Market etc.
Seek to penetrate any of these via entry level, internship or even contract employment.
Work to get a PG Dip , MSc or professional certifications in identified field
Also learn on the job , personal study and ask questions , take up roles even if not rewarding in the immediate
Beleive me , when it will start paying off , you will be smiling all the way.

Personally i read one of the most rejected course in Nigeria - Zoology
But today i am a Supply Chain Pro
I now have PGD and MSc in Supply Chain Management and belong to local and international professional bodies
My experience is awesome and job interviews i get is really impressive
Thank God i did not rush back to school immediately to do a MSc in a field i did not like....

As a mathematician you can even find yourself doing sales at early stage
With some experience , you can do an MBA , or with some other added requirement.
belong to professional bodies
Next you are on you route to been a commercial business manager that has the capacity to becoming an MD of a company.

mrkels:
Someone should give a honest answer to this question

Your CV does the Magic! at least to be invited for interviews! As you grow older after leaving skool, your CV should thread a proffessioanl path having in the the right skills and experience. Ensure that your CV satisfies to a reasonable extent attributes the employer is lloking for. DO NOT APPLY FOR ALL JOBS.

Keneking: Now premier league has concluded, you are now dawned with reality. Anyway, since you are being provided shelter and salary of 15k, then you are technically earning 20k if fully monetised. Is this job a Gate Director? Or Cleaning Manager in an office? Did you really negotiate at all or you just shook your head (like a gizzard) after the offer was made? Besides, who do you usually call as i read that you normally buy recharge card. Are you married? Are you educated to SSCE or repentant yahoo-yahoo boy? Pls may we know your socio-economic class? That is second class or third class.

Long and short, it is better to stay home as that money and room can tempt you to pregnate a girl. grin

OH my Gosh! who is this dude! cant you give your advice like a gentle man. Fuking funny!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Need Serious Advice;15000 Job, Shd I Take It by noblesam(m): 11:07am On Jun 22, 2012
My sincere opinion is that if you will not need to be transporting yourself to work and the work does not eat into your weekends, you may take the job. However for the experience alone. Also so that your idleness does not land you in a mess. Also always have it at the back of your mind that you ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A JOB. Because by all standard that pay can serve as ones' Transport allowance on a monthly basis. Hope you now understand the pix i am painting?
