How I spend my bribe money - Peter Obi

http://saharareporters.com/2009/02/18/robinhood-how-i-spend-my-bribe-money-gov-obi-pm-news

Unbelievable !!!

This self-admitted, certified Anambra thief, Obi, and his running mate, international thief, Atiku, want Nigerians to trust them with our national treasury?

That will never happen.

These two thieves, Obi and Atiku belong in jail and if they are in China would have been executed by now, and cannot come back from the grave to insult our intelligence, that they want to be trusted with our Commonwealth.

Wailers may be in sane, but Nigerians are NOT insane!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Osyabj. But let me ask, did you actually read the content of the post? or you are basing your argument on just news title?
Unless you are paid to do this, isn't it obvious to everyone that, with this man's level of honesty, there is something different about him? If like myself you genuinely want the progress of this country, you should know that Peter Obi is the best among politicians in his league, who we can bet on at this time.

Sometimes I wonder if all these short clips are true and why would someone who spoke such about a political party still become a member?

I am glad you called it what it is, "short clips". Try see the full video, he never mentioned PDP and was not his intention to attack any particular political party. Whenever he makes reference to the past in his public speeches, he tries to make a rather diplomatic criticism of past leaders, in a non partisan way which often appear to Nigerians as him indicting a set of politicians including himself. But the fact remains, he is the best we can get at this time in Nigeria and he actually needs a political party to bring that much needed true change in this country. Unless you are suggesting he contests for a post as an independent, alienating himself from both pdp and apc cos apc is no different (if not worse). He obviously can't win election in this funny country by doing it alone

Politics / Peter Obi Never Demolished Mosques In Anambra, Northern Police Chiefs Says by noblestan: 7:17pm On Nov 06, 2018
• Call for Support for Obi’s Nomination

Three former Commissioners of Police (CPs) in Anambra State during the tenure of Mr. Peter Obi as governor of the state have exonerated him from the allegations that he demolished mosques and sacked non-indigenes, particularly northerners from the state.

These allegations are being propagated by the opposition against him on social media.

Speaking on at different occasions on the subject-matter, they were unanimous in rating Obi as a fair, humane and detribalised Nigerian, “whose passion as governor was for the good of all within his jurisdiction.”

Dismissing the news of demolition of mosques as a lie and propaganda obviously planted by the opposition to discredit the Atiku/Obi presidential ticket, they called on all well-meaning Nigerians, including Northern youths, to disregard the news as fake, urging them to always try as much as possible to verify report before believing them.

The former CPs in Anambra State, Gwary Usman, Alhaji Amusa Bello and Philemon Leha, who later retired in higher ranks, expressed concern over the spate of fake news, especially on social media, targeted at impugning the integrity of credible Nigerians, incidentally, the three ex-police officers are northerners who served during Obi’s eight years as governor.

Alhaji Amusa Bello, who was the CP in Anambra State from 2006 to 2010, described the allegation as laughable and a figment of the author’s imagination.

He also advised rumour mongers and purveyors of falsehood to desist from such acts, and support whoever God anointed to showcase what modern politics, leadership and management should represent.

Bello observed that it was unthinkable for anyone to associate Obi with violence or rascality as he never demolished any Mosque nor asked anyone, aside from criminals and kidnappers, to leave the state.

According to him, “I call on those behind this rumour to desist from that and look for fact. They should stop this ‘pull-him-down syndrome’ that will never take them anywhere good. Obi has a lot of credentials and several attributes that favour him in his aspiration. He dresses simple among others. Let them look for fact. He has emerged vice presidential candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; it’s God that ordained him. Let them support him.”

Similarly, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Philemon Leha, asserted that the Obi he worked with could not have and did not demolish Mosques nor asked non-indigenes to leave the state.

Visibly upset by the spurious allegation against Obi, he said: “I am from the North and I know what I am saying. Northerners are among the people building the economy of Anambra State and in what circumstances could a governor have sacked them? Numbering millions, they are practically everywhere in the state, including Awka, Amansea, Onitsha, Nnewi and many other towns and communities. Let Nigerians be assured that the allegation is a lie.”

Usman, who is a retired AIG, described the allegation as “false and wicked.” According to him, “It is not true. The allegation is false. I was in the state as CP and I was better placed to know the truth. Throughout the time I was in the state, nothing like that ever happened.”

Surprised at the gullibility of the people, he submitted that “Peter Obi is a gentleman. I can vouch for him. He is a detribalised citizen. I can tell you authoritatively that even if I wake up from slumber, I will tell you that Obi did not and can never hate any Northerner. I am surprised that our people are being deceived.”

Obiano actually tried to misrepresent facts in this regard. Towards last year's governorship election in Anambra state, Peter Obi personally cleared the air on the accusations from gov obiano's camp in a comprehensive document which he swore to it's veracity at the supreme Court. I read the hard copy documents myself. Obiano, other than social media propaganda by his team, never bothered to personally respond to the questions raised by CLO. Please, see the following links;

I don't understand some of the arguments here, especially those positing that Peter Obi exonorated the present govt of any wrong doing in the management of the economy. First of all, this less than one minute video was obviously edited and released to suit a particular narrative. Same with the one released few days ago where he said "school feeding program is a joke". Anyone that watched beyond that few seconds video will see why he said it was a joke.
On this particular video, I watched the original interview when it aired on channels tv over a year ago, and the man was obviously trying not to point acsussing finger at any particular person or persons which necessited him to say "everyone of us", indicting himself as well. It is on record that he eventually saved Anambra's share of the money. He also stated on this interview and on many others that yes there was global recession but the present govt didn't manage it well, rather compounded the problem. I don't hold brief for PDP or APC because as far as I am concerned, they are the same but since I knew Peter Obi, he has continued to impress me. Ofcourse, he is not 100 percent perfect, but if majority of the politicians in Nigeria can be like him, we will surely make headway in this country

be careful, don't be reckless in your desperation to twist words and deceive people using a platform like this either ignorantly or for personal gains best known to you, the reverend father in question is a revered man anointed by God, he is not like these popular pastors. don't bring a curse on yourself and later be running helter-skelter asking God why.

having said that, there is nothing incriminating in the audio conversation, the governor was simply asking Ifeanyi uba to use his resources to support him he specifically said he is not asking for money. what the governor meant when he said "boxing" was for the capital oil boss to throw his hat into the ring fully and campaign for him as he did for Jonathan and not being on the sidelines and saying he is working underground for him. I don't know if the capital oil boss launched a campaign of calumny against peter obi or not because i don't have that much interest in politics but i knew peter obi was not a governorship aspirant in that election common sense denotes the campaign of calumny if any should be directed towards the other aspirant. an automatic ticket is not a new word in Nigerian politics and there is nothing illegal about it. andy uba was even heard talking about the good welfare of his people. Anambra state is lucky to have these set of men in power.

Please, I raised an open ended question with the hopes that we will have a civil discussion on it but you started with mudslinging. Sad sad
Anyway, the name of the reverend father in question was repeatedly mentioned in that conversation which is instructive. Yes, we were not there to know exactly what was discussed in his presence, which is why I used the word "alleged", but he may need to put out a statement to at least put off the suspicions of wrongdoing on his part.
And if you must know, I worship only the true living God and not men, so your blackmail of "curse" don't work for people like me. Sorry smiley

On your second point, you are either deliberately trying to skew your interpretation, especially the "boxing" part or you are ignorant of what actually transpired during that election. I suspect the later as it is evident all over your post. However, my post was primarily directed at those who "closely followed the immediate past Anambra governorship election". I am sure the target audience got the message.

Most importantly, automatic tickets, which is the major point I wished we would discuss, should be frowned upon by every true democrat.
Plus Andy Uba was not in any of the conversation. Andy Uba and Ifeanyi Ubah are different persons from different communities in Anambra state. Thanks for your contributions

Any person that understands igbo language very well and had closely followed the immediate past Anambra governorship election will know that the “boxing on television” referenced in the audio conversation has to do with campaign of caulumny lunched by the Capital Oil boss against Peter Obi towards that election.
Another shocking reveletion from the audio is the alleged involvement of a popular reverend father in the state in the proposed subversion of a democratic process via automatic ticket!
After listening to this audio, I began to wonder. Is this not a case of gangsters in power? Lol.

Politics / Audio Of Obiano, Ifeanyi Ubah And Ibeto's Meeting On Automatic Senatorial Ticket by noblestan: 12:09pm On Sep 29, 2018
AnaedoOnline is in possession of an audio conversation containing Governor Obiano assuring Dr Ifeanyi Ubah the Senatorial Ticket of Anambra South Senatorial District in the presence of Chief Cletus Ibeto.

While making the promise, the Governor reminded Ifeanyi Ubah of the meeting they had at the residence of popular Anambra priest Rev Fr Ebube Muonso where he had promised him that he will go to the Senate in return for him to support his re-election bid. The promise of the ticket was made to Ifeanyi Ubah as one of the bait to get the Capital Oil Boss to support the governor’s re-election bid.

In the said audio, Governor Obiano was heard clearly telling Ifeanyi Ubah to come out fully and support his re-election campaign as it was just 19 days to his election.

The Governor told Ifeanyi Ubah to use his capacity to campaign for him which included: using his media outfits, the Authority Newspapers and Authority FM and also the FC Ifeanyi Ubah (FCIU) stadium to mobilize the youths to support his re-election bid. The Governor made reference to what Ifeanyi Ubah did before for President Goodluck Jonathan through Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) and therefore urged him to do same for him by creating a general awareness for his re-election so as to enable them to finish the work and win the election.

In response to the Governor’s plea, Ifeanyi Ubah also made reference to the meeting at Rev Fr Ebube Mounso’s residence and another meeting they both had at the Governors Lodge. He said that those meetings went well. He also said he insisted that He (Ubah) and The Governor had to see Chief Cletus Ibeto whom Governor Obiano referred to as ‘The Oracle’ in the audio. Ifeanyi Ubah told the Governor that Chief Ibeto is his boss that he would go to work once Chief Ibeto gives him the go-ahead order.

Chief Ubah told the governor that this election was not just to deliver Nnewi but that he is coming-in totally to help him win this election. He assured the Governor that he is joining Chief Victor Umeh for them to work together. Chief Ubah also made reference to his conversation with Chief Victor Umeh who told him that the Governor is the BOT Chairman of the Party that since he has given his assurance that He will get an automatic ticket of the party, that it is as good as done.

AnaedoOnline had earlier reported how Governor Obiano denied ever promising or signing an agreement with Ifeanyi Ubah that he will be given the APGA ticket for Anambra South Senatorial District. The Governor denial arose after Ifeanyi Ubah and Ibeto in an emergency meeting organized on September 14th 2018 by a section of Nnewi political stakeholders at the Igwe’s Palace told the audience how Gov Obiano promised Ifeanyi Ubah Senatorial Ticket.

It is few days to the Party primaries and rumours are everywhere that the Governor has reneged on his promise to Chief Ubah, but Anaedoonline will bring you further details as we have it.

Click below to listen to the audio conversation.

What are your thoughts guys?
Politics / APGA Will Take Over Imo State In 2019 by noblestan: 4:52pm On Sep 13, 2018
Barr Chuka Ezenwune, the Chairman of House committee on Public Petition and Conflict Resolution, represents Idemili South constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He spoke to JOY ANIGBOGU about his activities in his constituency, APGA’s position as one of the major opposition parties in the country, among other issues. Excerpts:

Can you talk about the committee that you head in the house?

We look at petitions from the public against any government functionaries in the State. It is part of the work of legislators not only to make laws but to oversight the activities of other arms of government. Pubic petition is a situation whereby a person writes a petition against an office holder who is seen to be abusing the office. If the petition is addressed to the speaker and laid at the table at plenary, we will look into the petition and come out with a report, the house will consider it and adopt a resolution.

The defections across political parties, how has it affected your party?

Politicians from other parties are defecting to APGA. We have not had any loss so far. We have gained from the defections. If you come to Anambra as of today you will think that there is no other party in existence. We hear of defections in other States but here we are gaining and receiving defectors. We have a senator elected under APGA and one other senator, Stella Oduah defected to APGA from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). We have two senators at the national assembly. We have two elected House of Representatives members from Anambra, one from Abia and one from Taraba State. We have two House of Representatives members that defected to our party from PDP. As we speak we have six House of Representatives members at the national assembly. I will say that APGA is growing.

How prepared is your party to enlarge its fortunes in the South East in particular in 2019 general elections?

APGA is the party to beat in 2019. We were robbed of victory by PDP in Abia in 2015. Initially we had the majority in the Abia State house of assembly and through tribunals and courts we became minority. If you observed what happened from the tribunal to apex court, we won at the court of Appeals at a point. It was a keenly contested election. I think that capturing Abia State is still possible for APGA and with the poor performance of Rochas Okorocha in Imo State, Imo State is almost in our hands. We will get Imo State if we field the right candidate.

Is your party going to field a presidential candidate in 2019 election?

I am not a member of the national working committee. It is the duty of NWC to give such information. When it comes out with its guideline, we will know if there will be any presidential aspirant.

Is your party a member of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP)?

No we are not part of CUPP. We are standing on our own. I have not heard from our national chairman that we are going into coalition with any party. We are on our own for now and if our leaders feel we can field a presidential candidate we will do that when the time comes.

Do you think that INEC will deliver on its promise to give a credible election in 2019?

Considering what happened in Ekiti State I won’t say the election was rigged until the tribunal or the courts come out with their verdict. We know that during the 2015 general elections it was massively rigged in Anambra State during the national assembly election. It was when the PDP lost the presidential election that it allowed free and fair elections in the house of assembly elections and we were elected. I think that democracy is growing and people are becoming conscious of that and are ready to defend their rights because it is the right of the people. In 2019 it won’t be business as usual. It will no longer be easy for rigging to be condoled. In the last governorship election in the State, people tried so hard to protect their votes, people stayed behind for the collation in most centres. I was a party agent during the election. People followed us after the collation, copied the result sheets and followed us to the State headquarters of INEC. You can see the extent to which people can now police the results or their mandates.

We got feelers that people are worried about the activities of the police in recent time, to the extent of their capability to provide security during the general elections. Do you share the same view?

I don’t want to agree that the police are involved in impunity. We believe that the police will carry out the instructions. The police that you see at the booths and collation centres do not act on their own volitions, they carry out instructions given to them. If the police fail to do the right thing, the blame should go to the supervisor, if it is the State; the commissioner of police would be held responsible and should be able to explain why his men are not doing the right thing. Where the commissioner fails to give a proper explanation then the ball would fall in the court of the inspector general of police to tell why the flaws. I think that the IGP gives orders based on instructions from the power that be. During the last election, the police was allowing people from a particular party to walk into the collation centre and stopped others and I do not want to blame them because they were just carrying out instructions. Deepening our democracy means that security agencies have to be neutral.

In your preparation for re-election, so far do you have any strong opposition to that aspiration?

In democracy there must be challenges when there are no challenges it is not good for democracy. Even in America where we borrowed the model of our democracy, no matter how excellent your performance, you would still have opposition. Somebody must challenge you. Obama, Clinton, Ronald Regan were all challenged. It is the electorates that will assess you and see whether you have lived up to their expectation. I believe that my people will give me a pass mark. I believe that I will still have their mandate.

Can we talk about some of the projects that you have been able to attract to your constituency?

I will say that I have done my best. I have disturbed the governor to sight some projects in my constituency. Nokwa- Ichida road within my constituency is completed. Construction is ongoing in Oba, it is an expensive project and I told my people that it is not a project that would be completed in one year. Construction work is going on in Ojoto. One has been awarded in my home town. They are lots of other projects, we have the erosion control, and you may note that my constituency is erosion prone. We have community projects, health centres. We have constituency projects all around, in Oba, Ojoto, Nnobi, Nnokwa, Alor. I am working to sight a project each in Awka Etiti and Akwa Ukwu. You know that the fund for constituency project comes annually and people have this misconception that you will just be given the money. At the end of appropriation for the year, after the budget, you will wait for the release. Part of the fund appropriated for this year was just released this week. It is will from the fund that I will consider doing something in Awka Etiti and Akwa Ukwu, then I would have completed the other projects.

Politics / Another Electricity Tarrif Hike Despite Recession In Nigeria by noblestan: 10:39am On Mar 27, 2017
Despite recession and the accompanying hardship still biting hard on Nigerians, electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) have secretly increased electricity tarrif without the consumers' knowledge.

An investigation by our reporter showed that the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) have already increased the tarrif for residential areas (R2s) from the previous N27.13/unit to N30.93/unit.

Attached below is an image of an elctricity bill delivered to a 2 bedroom flat household in Enugu town this March. The bill shows that the consumer is expected to pay N9,248.07 for “Energy Used in February, 2017” which according to the consumer was actually a haphazard supply.

Enugu EEDC March 2017 Bill

Before now, the EEDC with arguably the largest number of consumers in the country (serving Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi states respectively) already has the highest tarrif at the previous N27.13/unit. This same EEDC has over the years tactically refused to meter the over 90% of her customers who are yet to be connected to prepaid meter billing system. The implication is that the consumers are left at the mercies of EEDC’s illegal estimated billing system which simply put, only extorts the consumers.

It is interesting to note that the EEDC is largely owned allegedly by an easterner, Sir Emeka Offor which begets the question; Is someone deliberately trying to milk his people dry?

Electricity consumers in the area has repeatedly stated their willingness to accept any tarrif rate provided prepaid meters are first supplied for accurate readings but the EEDC are obviously not ready for that and probably will never be.

There doesn’t seem to be any solution in sight as the Federal government represented by Dr. Tunde Fashola in the ministry of Power appear to be very docile. Recent statements credited to the minister shows that he is either helpless or clueless which is a very big disappointment for someone who once claimed that providing electricity for Nigerians shouldn’t be a rocket science.

With the FG not helping, who will bell the cat, then?

Tell us the situation of things in your area and share your thought on this report using the comment box below.
