Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has directed permanent secretaries in the state to produce full account details of their ministries‘ expenditure in the last 18 months. The governor also advised the permanent secretaries to shun partisan politics as career civil servants, saying that the roles some of them played in the closing days of the immediate past administration were politically motivated. Addressing permanent secretaries during a meeting at Government House, Port Harcourt, yesterday, Wike regretted that some of them helped the immediate past administration to illegally withdraw funds from the state government coffers even up till May 28, 2015. He said : “I want full details and printouts of every ministry’s account in the last 18 months. I will not accept any handover note without accompanying account details. “The past government was coming to a close and some of you were busy signing cheques on May 26, 27 and 28. On May 28, the Transition Committee called most of you and you refused to cooperate because they told you I would not be sworn-in.” The governor noted that he will not witch-hunt any civil servant irrespective of his/her role in the electioneering period, but said that no civil servant would be allowed to sabotage the efforts of his administration. He urged the permanent secretaries to work with his administration to revive the state and put back smile on the faces of the people. “Those of you who want to work with us to develop Rivers State will get the necessary support. You are career civil servants and not politicians. As civil servants, don’t play the role of politicians,” he said. Wike pointed out that the back-dated employments and indiscriminate issuance of certificates of occupancy by the immediate past administration would be re-visited. He directed the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and Survey to produce the relevant land documents for examination. The permanent secretaries were led to the meeting by the Head of Service, Mr Samuel LongJohn. Source : Vanguard Newspapers

I read about this online yesterday and I felt the need to share it with you all. Ask anyone what kind of hair they want to have and the instant answer would be thick black hair. Of course, this is for people who do not like to go in for colours or hair dyes, and would rather stick to keeping their natural black hair colour. Good news is that you can maintain your black natural hair colour easily with out too much trouble. I am sure you must be eager to know what these tips are!!! So here is the list of tips that will prevent hair greying and will stay black for a longer number of years. How To Prevent Grey Hairs Hot oil massage You can carry out a hot oil massage with either ofcoconut oil or almond oil. Each of these oils contributes towards maintenance of black colour of your hair. Add a few drops to the warmed up oil and use on scalp with light circular motions. It helps grow and maintain thick hair. This is the first and foremost of all the tips for black hair. Employ the correct combing technique Do not brush your beautiful hair aggressively. If there are tangles, go for wide toothed combs, also use a paddle brush for best results. Say no to heat If you really like the black natural colour of your hair; then do not apply hot ironing tools. It will not only frizz dry your hair but you will also lose its natural colour coating. Growing hair long If you didn’t know, then let me tell you that cutting down bigger lengths of hair don’t make hair grow faster. Instead, ask your ends to be trimmed at a salon, such that there is never an appearance of split ends. This will help you maintain your black hair long. Keratin Treatment If you cannot stay away from styling gels and tools, then you can book an expensive session once every 2 months at a good parlour for a keratin restoration treatment. It helps restore your hair’s lost keratin and maintains your dark natural hair colour. Supplements do help Your body may need some supplement boosts from time to time, because it is rarely possible for each one of us to follow a healthy and maintained diet in between our busy schedules and work pressures. Ask your hair doctor for a good supplement that will help you maintain thick and natural hair. Biotin is a great hair supplement, but depending on your hair condition, you need to decide on the amount of intake that your body requires. This will also help you stay away from unnecessary hair fall or breakage. Stay Healthy!!!

There are many sides to everybody. For Tonto Dikeh, it seems the side that is well known is the wild one. Controversial as many may think this singer and actress is, she does have her subtle side and she laid it on the line for everyone to see in an Instagram post on Wednesday by telling whoever cares to listen her story of humble beginning. “Growing up life was not easy, not after I lost my mom at the age of three. Though I thank my step mom for keeping up with my rudeness and stubbornness. Sometimes, I felt like killing myself but God saw me through that stage in my life and sometimes I sit and ask God why me? At the age of twenty, I said to myself `I wouldn’t ask my dad for money- I wanted to be independent. I tried traveling to UK but I got refused at Nigerian Embassy, not because my documents were not complete but because I didn’t have the connection to pass through” she stated “University life was so hard for me, handouts I could not afford, I begged from hand to mouth just to eat! Sometimes, I considered going back to my dad but ego and pride wouldn’t let me. Then, all my jeans were Alaba bend-down-select. If the jeans was longer than me I would cut it to my size to make it look rugged! If I asked friends for a favour, before they helped they would ask me to do something for them in return, like cleaning their rooms, or helping with course work” she added. She then went on to advise her fans never to give up in their struggle to make it in life. For sometime now, Tonto has been engaging in a soft kind of motivational talks on social media, showing people there might be another side to the controversial figure we all hate to love.

Boko Haram Islamists raided two towns in northeastern Nigeria, torching public buildings and looting food and fuel stores, residents and a police officer told AFP on Sunday. Islamist gunmen in pick-up trucks and on motorcycles stormed the towns of Galda and Fika in Yobe state late Saturday, firing wildly and forcing residents indoors. The latest violence in the region comes shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari took office on Friday vowing to crush the Islamist group that has waged a six-year insurgency. After repelling a military offensive, Boko Haram stormed Fika, 150 kilometres (95 miles) from the state capital Damaturu, burning a police station and public buildings including a law court, a local administration building and a primary school. “Boko Haram gunmen came in two pick-up trucks and on several motorcycles around 9:00 pm (2000 GMT) and kept firing shots haphazardly and firing RPGs on the police station where they forced the policemen to flee and residents to run indoors,” Fika resident Abubakar Maigoro said. The Islamists also torched a cluster of government-built homes for civil servants and 13 vehicles parked outside people’s houses, Maigoro said. “They burnt all the telecom masts in the town and we have to go to hill tops in the bush where we can get phone signals to make calls,” resident Ibrahim Sagir said. No information on casualties is available because communications are down. Troops who mobilised from Potiskum, 50 kilometres (30 miles) away, to combat the Islamists were outgunned and forced to withdraw after intense fighting, Maigoro and Sagir said. Boko Haram radicals also attacked Galda, 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Fika, at around 8 pm (1900 GMT). “The gunmen stormed our town firing everywhere to scare people away before breaking into shops and carting away food and jerry cans of petrol,” resident Muhammad Garba said. A police officer in Potiskum confirmed the accounts. “Fika and Galda came under attack from Boko Haram last night. They burnt several public buildings in Fika and looted shops in Galda,”he said, asking not to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the media. “Soldiers deployed from here but they were overpowered by the gunmen,” he said. “We are yet to receive any report on casualties. Communication with the area has been disrupted as a result of the burning of telecom masts in the attacks.” The reports of the raids came after a deadly suicide bombing inside a mosque in the city of Maiduguri killed at least nine people on Saturday just a day after Buhari was sworn in. Overnight Friday, residents in a suburb south of the same city woke to the sound of RPGs being fired as Boko Haram tried to advance. Source : Vanguard Newspapers |

There is a latest tend in scamming. .. in many social media or dating sites you will get to see very beautiful young and promising ladies and you want to befriend them but you not knowing that the people behind 90% of those pictures of this ladies are guys. What they do: They seek your attention either by viewing your profile, so you will get a notice that your profile have been viewed (Badoo, Eskimi etc) and you then see how beautiful they are then your try to befriend them, or you see a beautiful picture of a lady and you decide to write them and introduce yourself. When you write or try to make contact they will respond very fine and very interesting, they will even share there contact with you so you can call, telling you sweet stuff, then they will start asking for phone recharge pin, Money etc.. . The trick is that when you call them the so called guys will pick up the call and you will think or be kinda confused because of the voice.. . The thing is that they have a software installed on there phone for there voice to look like that of a female or look close to it. Guys beware and my advice is that social media or dating sites people are 98% fake.. .. They not what they say they are!! ! |
