A piece of advise for future moms, it might help someone.
Anyways, my baby was tested and she failed. We were asked to do a more extensive test and booked the appt for April 14th. This test cost $304 and they discovered that my daughter has hearing loss in both ears and will be needing hearing aids.

@Shelly23, so sorry to hear this..It is well with your baby and she will get better in jesus name. Don't give up and don't lose faith.
[b]Hi,,
Do anyone here have idea if the hospital provides milk for the new baby for free or not?? this is in case of mum can't breastfeed him.
Thanks

yes they do..because they know not everyone's breast milk flows immediately. And they also know 1st time moms wud have latching problems etc...they give you milk during your stay and if you are lucky..you get some to take home

Bcause im getting conflicting gist from friends saying i shudnt give my baby penta 1 etc here in naija...because the paed has already given him that they dont use the same vaccine names we use in naija ..the peaditrician didnt write anyother thing except hep B- ..... pls i need advice. I need to immunize my baby and i dont want to over dose him as well...to be on the safe side.

Good afternoon. Can any one confirm how many hours was spent at the passport office downtown Houston to procure baby's passport. Need to know so I can plan adequately. Someone told me 6 hours. So need to confirm from people that processed recently. thanks a bunch in advance.
I booked for an 8:30 (monday), i got there at about 9am due to traffic jam..finally submitted my forms and was asked to come back on wednesday. I told him i needed to apply for visa so he said..the best he cud do for me was 2:30pm..so i went down to the cafe( ground floor) and waited. Ur best bet is go by 8am so you are sure by 2pm you are done

Pls every detail will really help. A friend of mine used the hospital last year but stated with relatives. Though the quote she gave me for her doctor is cheaper. Thanks
Thanks ozycy! Its a private arrangement. Right now its not available because my friend will be taking over when i leave. yes it is less than 15mins to walmart, ross and many other stores. My doc charged 1600. Baby sykes( dr zimmerman) For transportation, i used yellow cab for most of my trips cos the hospital and docs office were also about 15mins from the house. The environment was and is very safe.

Hi everyone,
This is to give back as i got every info from this wonderful site..i am set to leave for naija next week. I got in thru atlanta in dec, i flew delta. came in with my mum.
I stayed in cypress, and paid 1800 for my entire stay. From dec 11th till date. I had my babyboy on january 27th at mwhh
my doc fee 1600,
circumcision 250,
lab 70,
the hospital 3100..(this covered for my boy's bill at the hospital.
Epidural 750
newborn check up 310 while at the hospital
i had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery.( Glory be to God)
i had one false labour and was billed 93dollars for that.

I got my baby's bc 3days after i had my baby, then got his passport this week monday(same day)thru the passport agency downtown.
Note: you have to show proof of travel within14days.

I just received his passport this morning,i sent it to edwin(edventure) for visa on wednesday it cost me 350 and 90 dollars to mail.

I used dr neal grossman for my baby's 2days and one month check up &hep vaccine and i think it cost me approx 400dollars. I have collected all receipts and zero bals where necessary. I had my 6weeks post natal check up & i paid 30dollars for pap smear test.

Thank you all so much. To those yet to apply for visa, those about to travel, those waiting to pop and those of us about to go back to naija. I wish us all God's unshaking grace.

Congrats babe.
Pls did you use a lawyer to notarize the consent letter for baby's passport or was your husband with you?

Its now my turn to share with d house, after discovering this beautiful thread with adequate info..i read from page one till the end, 2 diff times with my hormones, lol...today i had my interview in Abuja (9:30am) with my mum and husband and it went like this....
VO: Good morning
Me and hubby: Good morning
My mum: Good afternoon, lol (t'was past 12 pm)
V: so you wanna go to the US forrrr?( Waiting for response)
Hubby: we want to go have our baby
VO: point of correction, your wife is having the baby not you, thats the way it works okay? Smiling
Hubby et me: laughs
VO: can I see correspondence with a doctor
hubby: opens envelope and was trying to bring out all mails and chats and appointment with doc.when d envelope wasn't cooperating the VO then asked for the whole envelope.
VO: can I have everything?
Hubby: Of course..hands the entire envelope wit my darling phema's burden of proof's carbon copy
VO goes through everything page by page, statement of accounts, mind you, my resignation letter was also attached as I just left my place of work. He asked about that and enquired to know how long I worked with them and why I left, before I answered, the VO answered for me, saying..you dint really like the job, did you ?..so I laughed and said I just had 2 put up with it and when I couldn't handle it any more..I left. ( we both laughed)
He did some calculations while still staring, i think we stood there for like 20 mins..felt like days though!
Then he asked to explain some money in my acct that came in and went out last month.. I explained and was about to bring out proof just so he knows it wasn't a loan or anything. He said nahh its ok..I just wanted to make sure you could explain it. And he passed all our papers and at that point I closed my eyes...only to hear
VO: your visa has been approved, pick up on Friday .......
wow! I ran to weewee and danced small in d ladies. Came out to meet my hubby and mum that were waiting for me with wide smiles.
I thank God for his mercies, he is ever faithful.
Information is key...it really pays to be honest.

MadameU:
Normanicole kindly go thru this thread to get the answers you seek. Have a plain sheet of paper and a pen with you. If you can go through even the first to 26th pages of this thread or read back from the last 10 you would be a consultant!
God bless us Nigeria
Madameu, i tink u have the wrong person, i did not ask any questions..i only ADVICED that people should make effort, just read even if its a few lines. I got all my info reading from page 1..and more than once. And i did not call names for those who have decided to feel insulted.
