My people, ejo, biko, pls, those whose mum/mum-in-law have gone for visa interview, pls i need ur help/info/advice.

Are the following documents sufficient for her to take with her for interview? Copies of my visa page, my last baby’s US passport data page, zero balance etc for the last trip, doctor’s correspondence for the next trip, evidence that she is retired (to show her previous work history).

Pls what else should I give her apart from the basics, confirmation page, GTB Payment receipt etc

Any tips on what she should be prepared for?

let her go with ur own visa page, she does not need to go with ur child's American passport. then maybe her statement of acct and yours since u are sponsoring..

when u get to the airport, u give them ur visa on arrival approval letter, they then print out the ticket. I think it cost me about 113 or 117. dollars... but it wasn't up to 120 dollars... some pple have actually paid less, like 80 dollars. I think it depends on the period. mine was in December.

Turkish air is fine and really easy to add infant ticket not minding if you bought your ticket directly from them or used a travel agent

Pls who has walked into the houston US Passport office recently cos I need to get my sons passport soon I was told by the security man that they don't accept walk in that I need to book an appointment. The nearest appointment date is 17th march and I'm traveling 23rd also need to get a Nigeria visa too. Pls advice me on what to do.

pick the 17th date, morning appointment . it's possible to get the passport same day once expedited or you just have to let them know u are sending the passport out for visa , they will give you the same day. u can get approval for visa on arrival or make a 24 hr visa arrangement with Eddy the visa agent. it's a small. matter

Came to hospital on Friday 14th Oct at 11pm for them to check if I was dialated I gave birth at 2.5am on 15th of October. No Epidural or medicine received. Somebody please shout hallelujah! !

I hardly leave comments cos people tend to read it the way they like with plenty unfriendly hormones, is it not possible to just state hospital, no location and no doctors name. so that people can at least Google . if one can bring out millions to travel to America to have good healthcare, one should be willing to at least research, check reviews then pray. people like nerf researched, still gave out plenty expos on hospitals in Chicago. just wise went as far as sharing vital info on the first page. but people just come take the first line and disappear. if this mission is important to you as well as your hard earned cash then it won't take anything from your to go the extra mile to help yourself. maybe only hospital names should be dropped, no location, no doctors name and people should also discourage the use of pm's to get such info from new mums.( so that one doctor is not abused) just Google, recharge your phone and call. it's not so difficult, u can just hold ur nose, trust me your accent will change. the painful one is those ones that feel entitled, when they don't get answers, it becomes war of the world. pls everyone that responds is just helping, nobody is getting paid to wait for your questions. chukwu gozie unu!

Have you breastfed anyone before? Do you know it's possible for pain to limit the number of times a new mom breastfeed her baby? Do you know if maybe the mom wasn't producing enough to satisfy her baby? Or maybe she had to get back to work almost immediately?

1-inadequte milk flow, the milk is not enough to solely satisfy a baby. Would you rather your baby starve or introduce formula?

2- resuming work, with the epileptic power supply how do you suggest a woman stores breast milk when she goes back to work?

3- personal reasons some women just don't want to do ebf because of fear of breast sag! (Pressure from the husband)

Formula is milk and can be introduced as early as day one of birth! Most babies react to lactose( lactose intolerance) it could be a change of milk to one without lactose may have been the solution! Rather than condemning the milk out rightly. The way some food don't sit well with us so its the same for babies.

Don't be so quick to judge or condemning someone if you haven't been in their shoes.

@Blaize777 we thank God for her safe arrival..my bestie gave birth to her daughter last year in naija and she weighed 2Kg.she is 7months today eating like an adult...ur baby will be fine in a short time, b4 the week runs out by God's grace.and for the bills, try not to worry so much,.ask for discounts. In the end it might be something u can just pay at once.

@all, I was thinking, with this new trend of refusing visas because of low birth fees...e.g for those that used MHIS was it what you presented when you applied for the visa initially? Or did u apply with a hospital with higher fees then switched?trying to make sense of this new trend. Cost they might have filled in so so hospital on their system then you present cheaper receipts completely different from what you told them you had as budget. Was just thinking...ESP if the price on the receipt you gave them is much lower than what u initially said you were going to spend(50% lower)..so they come up with diff excuses that it is too cheap and you must've used govt funds...was just thinking oh! Because if you presented MHIS initially and you were granted a visa based on that...you have a case cause I want to believe they went thru the hospital's contract before issuing the visa and the price was stated there.
