She may likely be a wawa from enugu that Anambra people usually employ as labourers in our farms, which is why the Nteje people are not raising hell over her murder. Ebonyi state governor has openly declared that he will mobilise votes for Buhari, so you can count that one for APC too. Governors are very powerful.

I understand the op's point of view because i was just like him at a time,i was very eager to go explore the east exp enugu state and God used nysc to answer my prayer as regards visiting the much talked about enugu state. Now i can say the following about the state.


1: Enugu was a regional federal government capital for the east hence the hype by igbos?
2: unlike enugu, Lagos was national federal capital since 1914 hence the high level of development in Lagos
3: Only the three capitals: enugu east, enugu north and enugu east is developed so if you're not in the e capital then you're in a town
4: Aside the capital and the township other areas are very rural (remote village) so rural you can see a village inside a village in enugu
5: 70 percent of enugu is still rural/developing.

95% of Enugu town itself are slums and laid-back ghettos. Explore extensively and see for yourself.

Don't bother yourself with that wawa slowpoke. You must be Anambra blood to have been able to identify the lowlife illiterate because that is how we also identify most of them. Wawa people are barely able to read the alphabets correctly, talk more of being capable of spelling their own names correctly! Not dirtiest but The most polluted city in the world. That's nothing to be ashamed of. Mega cities often suffer from pollution due to heavy traffic, industrial emissions, human congestion etc. Pakistan's biggest city Karachi is listed as third most polluted city in the world and yet Pakistan is more developed than most African countries including Nigeria. The point is that Enugu is a laid-back ghetto with plethora of slums. It is no where near Onitsha in terms of development.

Honestly if Enugu is the most developed city in the entire south east then that region is really underdeveloped. SS has PH, BENIN and Uyo is uprising, Calabar is reserved for tourism. North has Kano and Kaduna, West has Lagos Ibadan and Ogun. There highest city can not rub shoulders with other regional counterparts. Yet they'll keep making noise up and down. I know some igbo friends who are smart and know the truth. they'll tell you their region is underdeveloped compared to others because their bigwigs invested in Lagos, PH and the North, leaving their homeland to rot. they'll admit and blame their rich people. but these ones on nairaland, I don't know where they are from sef, they've totally gone haywire with sentiments and needs leashing. Enugu is not our most developed city. Onitsha is. Enugu is just overhyped because of the vegetation and hills around it that make it look pleasant but it is actually an eyesore when you get to ground zero.

I have a friend who is from Ebonyi state but happens to be an onitsha brought up, the guy visited Enugu for the first time and was praising it, said it was more organized than Onitsha. The dude put call all the way to Lagos, sounding like to he was abroad in Enugu.

Go to Onitsha and ask around about abakaliki people whether those brought up here or the immigrant ones and inquire about their standard of reasoning and the consensus response you will get will make you question the mental well-being of that friend of yours.

This is what I have been hitting on for so long, but because I am from Anambra state that wawa people loathe so much because of our divinely-placed superiority over them, they call me afonja and other things. But the truth must be said no matter what. The dubious practice of some people showing only pictures of independence layout and new haven which make up just 2% of Enugu as the whole of enugu must end. The other 95% of Enugu which includes coal camp, obiagu, abakpa, asata, iva valley, etc wallowing in squalor and poverty must be showcased too because those are the real Enugu where 90% of the wawa population in enugu live.

I am from Anambra and the bitter truth is that Enugu is a mess. That town is overrated. 95% of it are actually laid-back ghettos and slums and due to the increasing widespread poverty in enugu, many businesses there are folding up or relocating to Anambra state.

Enugu used to be Anambra state. Most houses in Enugu are owned by Anambra people. Many Enugu people live and work in current Anambra state. The two states share blood lines, a common ancestry. Enugu state was named Wawa state by our elders at the point of creation. We agreed to change it to Enugu at the dying minutes before announcement. Wawa is a praise word for Enugu people.

Stop lying to yourself. Anambra and Enugu have nothing in common. We are worlds apart. Even the few Anambra people living in Enugu will start relocating back as soon as our own international airport is finished.

Op, you must be a newcomer. I have been beating it into the ears of everyone that Enugu is overrated. The worst is the level of poverty there which made Genesis cinemas to close operations there and are in the process of relocating to Anambra state. When you have three-quarters of wawa people living in Anambra state and more keep trooping into Anambra on a daily basis for survival, that should give you an idea of the dire economic situation in enugu.
