I don't know what phone exactly you're using, but if you have a phantom x2 just check your settings and you'll find a download ready and available. I can't just send it to you.

it was an OTA update, I just downloaded it when it was made available in the settings.

I don't know about you, but my Phantom X2 has received 2 software updates. Got it at 12 and it's now currently at Android 14.
I don't expect 15 though.

I'm not in a rush to update since the phone has been flawless on Android 13, but I'm looking to get feedback from anyone here that could've installed it already.

We received the Android 13 update 7 months ago and was wondering if they'd actually keep the promise of providing the 2nd update.

This comes a couple of months too late since most manufacturers provided the Android 14 update earlier in the year but nevertheless I'm glad it's here.

The price tag on this is not friendly at all

there's different subscription options. If you want faster connection you just have to be willing to pay extra for it.

that G99 chipset is absolutely useless to a serious gamer. Even the Pova 6 pro with dimensity 6080 is still not worthy of being called a gaming phone. The Pova line has always been for big batteries I don't know what made them brand it as a gaming phone when it lacks the hardware for it.

almost everything here is false. The 40i has HD screen not FHD. It's battery charges 18W, not 33W.

Don't use jumia as a basis for getting accurate phone specs. Use GSMArena or go to the official infinix website.

Spark 20pro and above
Phantom series

Infinix note 12(2023), Infinix note 12 g96 and above

Infinix Zero series( really fantastic phones)

You see itel is for people on tight budget so the kind of Chipsets you would be getting is something like Unisoc. You see Infinix smart, hot series and Tecno pop series, run away from them if you are looking for sharp performance.

I haven't used Tecno pouvir but from what I can see, the batteries are well optimized so they might sacrifice CPU and GPU power for that. You would likely not get great Cameras and high performance. There you have it

Lastly I discovered an ugly and disturbing trend here on nairaland. Some people have taken it upon themselves to create fake monikers to keep advertising Tecno and they even comment under the posts in a zombie-like fashion. I think this is really uncalled for as they are making the forum look like a dumpsite. A separate section can be created for phone advertising to curb this. They are taking up the space in this section daily in such a way that you get sick and tired while scrolling through.

Good advice here. If it's Tecno, strictly camon or phantom. If it's infinix, strictly Note or Zero. I've had a Phantom X2 for almost a year now. It's never slowed down, doesn't heat up(unless playing CODM at maximum graphics settings), battery is a beast, Cameras sharp and I've at least got one major software update so far and expecting one more.

So you'll still settle for such devices knowning in your mind that if it suddenly gets lost or stolen, it's gone forever, no option for tracking and possible retrieval

Tracking stolen phones is very expensive and it's the biggest waste of time. These days guys steal and sell the phones in a different country. And if it's iPhone or Samsung that can't be unlocked they'll tear it down for valuable parts like screen. The last 2 phones I lost were Realme 5 and Poco F3. I didn't waste my time, just saved up money for a new phone.

I have same problem especially when playing CODM, Redmi 9 with 4gb ram. Any slight slip from the game, will have to reload.

Lol, playing CODM on an entry level 5yr old phone in insane. You could put 20GB worth of RAM and it still wouldn't improve anything.

Is there an issue with the phone you bought? Is there something not working as advertised

So what if Facebook identified the device differently? Is Facebook's core purpose to identify and certify phone models?

The simple explanation here is that Facebook simply doesn't have the Hot 40i registered in whatever database it uses especially since it's a fairly new model.
Try using an app like Antutu whose core purpose is to verify and test phone specs and if that gives you different results then maybe we could have a problem to actually address.

Otherwise this thread is just nonsense.
