Money is good o but let me humor you a bit. You are planning for your children in Naira but they decide to pursue their future in Dhiram or Australia pound grin or let's say in 2065, the Sudanese pound is more than the British pound and your child goes there. Your child will not value all your hard work. What about children who do well than anyone in their generation has ever done?

The greatest gift to inherit from parents is not financial, but emotional and intangible, including unconditional love, presence, wisdom, and strong values. These lasting legacies shape a child's confidence and character, often considered more valuable than material wealth. Other key inheritances include a good reputation and a well-planned estate. Your plan is in estate but know that anything can happen to it.

Give your children intangible assets when you are available. During the Nigerian Civil War, the government made millionaires poor with a policy they passed. Some people have fled a country as rich people only to start their lives in a new country as refugees.

We tend to plan for life in the current image we have of it without realizing that we do not control the future we have a vision of grin

Nobody serves a local dog with a golden plate, it will end up messing up the plate. I remember someone once said if you have children and none of them can say "my father used to say, my father said this, my father used to do this", then you have not lived yet.

Don't think I am a pessimist because generational wealth exists but I just want you to look at the larger picture. What are you living for?
there's no manual to life or how it should be lived, everyone's got their own ideas and wishes.
It's normal and must all be respected under the law of government and nature

Only God knows why each person was born, even each person must do something,
I asked a young lady some years ago about what is life, I can't forget it.
She gave me a very rare answer, she said
Life is everything.
So there are different individual and different taste in life, I may agree with u, everybody has a natural mind to choose what he or she wants.
That's my conclusion

I feel you. Now this is my MO

NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOU.

It sounds evil but it's the reality. Take care of yourself first, accept responsibility for yourself and do not depend on anyone. I've been around old people since I was a child. The ones that depend on people always grumble about it. It's one of the humiliation of life. May we not experience this humiliation ritual because we cannot predict life no matter how perfect we plan for it. We often forget that we came to this world alone and will still go alone. No matter how much a mother loves her son, she won't go to the grave with him. It's important to plan. I agree with you on that but maybe I'm rapping too much. I came across this quote recently and it stayed with me not because of miserliness but the reminder of how life is 👇

"DO NOT BE LIKE A MISER WHO SAVES FOR THOSE WHO WILL BURY HIM"
- African Proverb

The world is a funny place to be which is why I posted some of those things before. We come without anything, we fight for everything, then when we have these things, especially money, we worry about how to keep it, maintain it and protect it and even provide for the future, then when we leave, we hope it is used the way we want it but by that time, no matter how powerful we are, we can't come from the grave to enforce it. We are just useless. We are so powerless. We are so irrelevant and even if, in the world beyond, we can see our enemy taking what we fought for, we still can't do anything. They are playing a video recording of our will and the child we thought would obey is the one saying "daddy, no na, I cannot accept that, we will challenge this will". I've seen too many things in this world that nothing surprises me anymore, therefore, instead of being disappointed in anyone else or bothered by these things that pretend to belong to me, I flow with the ocean waves. Betrayal only comes from expectations. Maybe it reminds us of what we can control and I take delight in the way the birds live. Not angry birds 🐦😂

This theme 👆 is common in religions and non-religious groups. Some of them call it a spirit of abundance but it takes an understanding mind to acknowledge what favor he has on earth but worries so much about the extra.

I think you mean/t scarcity. Here is another thing of the rich. By the time you acquire so much, it becomes a burden. In fact, there are two things. One, you start to worry. Two, you either want more or you start to give. Being rich is not bad and I hope you do not think I am preaching against having more. I am just saying that when you recognize it, do what gives you peace. Many at times, you find out that after having more, they (the normal ones who still have a conscience) want to give from what they have. They find happiness in what they give away. They now realize that happiness was never in acquisition, it was more in disposal. What an irony cheesy We enjoy the process more than the end result, that's why we keep going for more and it becomes like an addiction. If money was enough to put a stop for us, Elon would have stopped, Dangote won't bother and some men won't go underwater to find the Titanic shipwreck. That is another thing about money. It funds a certain type of lifestyle but if you take a seat back and observe, you will just observe that it is PACKAGING. A resort is built in an island but guess what is there? Nature! The same nature we escaped from in the villages to go and acquire riches in the cities cheesy
The food we are served is packaged but someone else is eating it for free in another village. The house we live in has extra features, there is a house under water, there is a house near a zoo etc. These are just extra things but if you come to the basics of life, it remains that all human beings want SHELTER, FOOD and CLOTHING.

So enjoy getting more, but don't let getting more get into your head, don't let it control who you are. Don't let it determine what makes you happy. Give things out and there is a spiritual thing about letting things go so new things can come into your life😂
There is a show they used to have on CNN with that Ghanaian presenter. My worst day or something like that. The rich people on her show, when they talk about their losses, it is always big. I don't think a lot of people are willing to embrace loss. That all what you have can leave in an instant. And when you recognize your mortality and non-invincibility, you can live normal and be humble with life. This same Femi Otedola was once on that show too wink
i actually read and understand everything better

That's a good explanation from you,
Thank you very much for this

Also

I believe we just need to save and plan for our generations to come, life should be easier for our offsprings
That doesn't mean they won't have to go fishing themselves anyway because regardless of how much they meet on ground, they must be taught never to be lazy with even what will make life easier for them

That was what Africa was built on. Wetin dem call that thing again, self substicence or whatever the name is.

To your question, let me leave you with quotes. Do I live by the? Yes.

Why? Because I understand I need to survive but when I think about the chain of life, I remember that picture where we come with nothing, they brainwash us with everything, then leave us with nothing. I also watch this guy and I have found out that after all is done, we still go back to basics. The things we acquire, we don't get happiness from them but somehow they convince us that those things make us happy grin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9PDi8asCEM

I won't let society tell me what it takes to make me happy when after studies of the sages, I have found that what makes us happy starts with self. And nobody can take that away from me. Even the people who make life terrible and worse won't steal that from me. I cannot control them, I can control my reaction and action cheesy
Well, I understand you very well.
And yes you're very correct about it all.
But
Hmm... Life is interesting.
Anyway I believe the apparatus of life should be kids will be taken care of by their parents, then when their parents grows so old, it is expected for the children to take care of their parents.
Easily assumed because of the love acquired over time for many years of family growth and development.

Notwithstanding...

One needs to store food or supplies/money whatever it can be called for old age most especially for those without children because they won't be able to have the strength to go for fishing or other kinds of work to chop at old age.
Unless the government can do normal responsibility to cater for them instead.

The bottom line is, we can actually save without greed, the greed is what brings out the problem in man.

I believe happiness is from satisfaction, and scarification is not of the rich because they want more

Am just learning the more about life, thanks for your words, it add up to more knowledge

I like this your comment/picture, it touches one somehow in a good way.

It's normal for Iran to publicly act strong in face of decimation

That's how war is fought

You can't look weak even if you feel weak

Your people won't like it

But these bloggers just keep on pouring petrol Inside the fire in Iran with fake news.

U.S paused their attack on Iran.

If Iran says they made new attack on U.S carrier.

U.S would've responded and resume attack on Iran.

Which is normal for any country in wars, even if it's Iran that are attacked, Iran would respond.

My question to nairaland is .. why is nairaland too allowing fake news

Portable taught me something about LIFE

There is no manual to make it in life
It's not by going to best school in UK.

Nothing to write home about. Very sad

While a shameless agbero dey chop 50 million
Money wey lecturers wey carry dignity and prestige for head like gala grin
No fit see or taste for this life. Lai lai

One thing no school will ever teach you is
To be successful in life you have to throw away SHAME. Remove shame.

I saw an old video of Fela in an interview
I will never forget what he said

"Shame is what our parents used to control and condition us from reaching our true potential in life.
Look at me, I don't have any shame."

A man who wears only pant is not afraid of anything. He is not afraid of Life. Because there is no shame.
All of Fela mates that claim righteous and care what others will say about them.
Nobody remember them at all.

But 40 years later Fela is still talked about
Infact A dead fela still win GRAMMY grin

Only the shameless win in LIFE.

Now back to portable
Portable has no shame and that is why he is popular
Carter Efe has no shame and he us popular
Ishowspeed, peller .. no single shame.
Now see both of them chopping tens of millions like it's nothing.

You that have Shame still struggling with 20k per month salary grin grin Dey play my fans

Only the brave will enjoy this earth
The shy timid good boys will be slaves to the system and die off with peanuts.

If you like allow Shame to put you in cage

King David that danced naked in temple
Had no bloody SHAME.
God has a way of rewarding those that have no shame.

Every successful person I know has no SHAME.

Thank you
You're even right my brother

Na that fela line wey u mention ah like pass

Fela is even more popular globally than any Nigerian dead or alive.

Like you said
Him say "look at me, I don't have any shame"

Some people never even know say e doesn't matter how u make your money.

Many honorables are honored at any occasion, regardless of how they make their dough

People will celebrate you when you have money

If na so called wayo way, if u go feel ur pain, only u go feel am urself

If na happiness, even people around u will be happy

But it's gonna fall right back down real pretty soon
Speed must be maintained by the engine sucking in the air backward
Otherwise just like the eagle soar by gliding, they must flap their wings lest they are gonna fall down sooner or later
