Sports / Oh Sh**: United Just Signed Nani And Anderson by nosa101(f): 10:36pm On May 30, 2007
I don't think this has been posted anywhere else, but I just read we completed a deal "in principle" to sign Nani and Anderson. If true, we might be playing some Arsenal style "flair football" (and we'll convert chances) wiht our rock solid defence. This also means we'll be ultra deep in midfield and we can finally get rid of fletchfeck and Prickardson

nosa what is your own? you are saying 3.0 is not enough, you have to keep in mind that we are black people.
WTF is "we're black people"? Are you a slowpoke? There are tons of Nigerians with above 3.5 GPAs so it has nothing to do with race. Please tell me you are joking?
Education / Re: Students: What's Your GPA? by nosa101(f): 7:57pm On May 30, 2007
a 3.0 is not something to throw a party about dude. 1.9 is not averge, more like 2.5

top investment banks in london and Newyork have more engr grad than other discipline.

Proof? Do they have MBAs? From recruiting officers I've asked, that's utter bullcrap. And I asked Bank of America officers at a career fair some months ago.

oludunamis:

An engr degree not only gives you very good exposure to numeracy, it gives you a logical and problem solving mind, you can excel at whatever you decide to do,
I think that comes with being smart. I don't know what curriculum that is but I'm a Mech undergrad and I don't do anything close to business math, I may be able to but it is not included in the degree program.

and these 'lovely' lyrics ACTUALLY sell. i mean, who buys these records? wht encourage these musicians who wake up in the money and the first thing that gets into their heads, they write about?
don't they ever wonder why it's ONLY nigerians who buy their CDs?
plz o, wake up and make universal music so they whole world can benefit from your talents before it's too late.
Tell Yanks, Brits and Jamaicans to make universal music too, don't be a hypocrite. You don't know Yank slangs so don't fake it. You allow them to get away it but you don't allow Nigerian artists to follow suit

What is your definition of the word "faith"? Does it have any semblance to that as defined in Hebrews 11:1?
I have never read Hebrew 11:1
ricadelide:

@nosa,you must be a very easy going guy. but scepticsm could be a good thing you know? at least am aware that you are skeptical about many biblical accounts.
all religions are based on faith? How so? what do you mean?
Faith in my context means belief without proof (i'm tempted to insert scientific). Blind followership or blind belief, something that keeps you believing despite everything that contradicts what you believe in. My friends died in a plane crash, which isn't just "right" and God should never let things like that happen but faith keeps you from not believing. If I was a Muslim or a Jew, I'll probably still have this faith.

You get what I mean?

Religion / Re: Why Are U Are Christian , Why Christianity ? by nosa101(f): 12:23am On May 26, 2007
It's against my principles to shut down religious beliefs. So if I was born into Islam, I would have stuck with it and respected Chritianity. I don't believe in belittling any religion because all religions are based on faith.

because its the best of all faiths and its the only one that offers salvation free of charge.

Education / Re: Between American And British Universities by nosa101(f): 4:23pm On May 25, 2007
I'll be very honest, most British schools aren't on par with Yank schools. There are a few like UCL, King's or summat, SOAS, Imperial, LSE, Manchester and the proverbial oxford and cambridge and it ends there. There are more good Yank colleges than there are Brit ones. But then again it depends on your major.

FACT:American colleges own British schools in world rankings.

Big B

It feels great to see that people are finally coming together, Yar'Adua is getting love from everywhere and it is clear that Nigerians are ready to move forward.
I just pray and hope that this new administration will change direction and do what is right by serving the citizens of Nigeria effectively and efficiently.

I'll love to see the following to improve:
1. High standard medical accessibility for all
2. Free education for all
3. Infrastructure improvement through out the country
4. Effective strategy to rectify corruption
5. Providing job opportunities.
6. Stabilizing economy and introducing effective strategy to monitor cost of necessity commodities
7. Constant water supply (must be divided into 4 parts and privatized)
8. Constant power supply (must be divided into 4 parts and privatized)
9. Creating business friendly environment for the investors and promoting privatization at a larger scale.
10. Finally, improving our image through out the world.

May God bless Nigeria.

I would think that we are dreaming .In democracy there is stock taking process – called election- when all politicians give account of their leadership to their electorates on the basis they will be elected or relected to continue their good work, but this very ingredient is lacking . Can Nigerians really vote out Yar’dua if he performs woefully in his first tenure? NO because Nigerians did not vote for him. There is no consequence for his inactions, so the status quo remains. The only thing that makes politicians to deliver to their electorates is voting power. This has been replaced with rigging power to create a political equation that a politician in Nigeria is mightier than 3 million voters. eg. Andy Uba Vs Anambra people.
The full monty or just elementary and secondary?

I heard Nigerians don't need visas to go to the Bahamas (or was it another carribean country). The only catch was, there are no direct flights, you need to go through England.
