It's painful it took me so long to see the value in that stock despite the ogas and one of my ogas pointing it to me because he works closely with them and knows the value inherent in it.
I also have idea of how those O&G company fairs......more reason im going to continue keeping eyes on OANDO.😊

I'll re-do my valuation in comparison with SEPLAT later....because when SEPLAT was at around 8k, it was allied @1100+

LOL. Its one of the 3 biggest indegenous oil companies na, with n 11k barrell/day refinerycapacity(now 30k I think). Also, a major player in the gase sector. Bought over ND Western, which makes them majority stakeholders of the RENASSAINCE group- basiclley, they are the Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria of today!

Market is always dynamic, we should not let our old knowledge hold us back or paralyse us.. i say this because many persons including myself always see banks as not so good for growth but today the reverse is the case. The banks don wake up begin fire. At least majority of them...

What people tend to forget is that it is market participants that move market prices. If everybody agrees that a stock or a sector is a buy then who will be the incremental buyer. Odds are when this happens the growth that got them excited has been factored into the price.

The best plays are the ones where the majority of market participants have an irrational fear or dislike of a sector or stock. This means that as they change their minds they are going to buy that stock/sector and consequently move the price up. That's why forums like this are very valuable. You can use it to gauge the pulse of the average market participant on a stock or sector.

During last year October dip, I bought Oando, Access Bank and UBA because their prices looked cheap compared to others in the same category.

6 months later:
GTB and Zenith Bank don double (100% gain)
UBA and Access Bank just manage around 30%

Lesson learnt the hard way:
No just follow “cheap” stocks. Go for companies with strong track record.

That “bargain” fit hook you if you consider opportunity cost.

The problem is that you are looking at price and not valuation. Even as we speak, from a Price to earning and price to book valuation stand point ETI is still cheaper than UBA and Access.

All the predictions I have made is based on me looking at stocks ONLY from a valuation stand point. I actually have a spreadsheet that when I update price it gives me the latest valuations.

If you do this and you stop listening to all the noise and BS you will have the cheat code to the NGX.

But alas, most people like gist and noise. Making money on this market is too easy. You just need to stop being emotional

The effect of "sky high energy prices" will not reflect in Q1 result. The war started at the end of February (67% of Q1 already done" while the effect did not materialize at the pump until about a week/two later meaning 75-80% of Q1 economic activities were already done.


My take is that the effect will be captured by the Q2/half year reports

In any case I have 2 companies that I strongly believe I will buy later this year. Unfortunately due to my religious beliefs I cannot mention their names before I buy. However I promise to market them like an idiot after I buy. So be rest assured you will hear about them.
