Finally contacted my broker and as I suspected Ikeja hotel was not sold, but with the surprise turn around yesterday today may not be so bad |
Just going thru the day's market news and Banks are definately over valued, good quarterly result from ikeja hotel should help me a bit |
(stock named on twitter) just released results, earnings have crashed, this stock is heading to the pit, and thats when I'll swoop in. Target price N3 |
Had some more offline business to take care of today, but my portfolio bleed like hell, lost max 5% and both my holdings are on offer |
Market lost almost 1%. Some very interesting buy opportunities, , would be a good buy below 80k, , is currently a good buy |

Hoping tomorrow would not be bloody even thou I know it would. Cant blame me for having faith |
Not done any analysis today. Infact I've decided to brace myself for the losses ahead. How much loss can I really take? |
follow me on twitter and I'll answer all your questions. NEM is an excellent stock but buy only @50k. The dividend yield is good so even if it does not rise you'll be consoled by dividends (even thou I strongly believe it would fly once market picks up) I had it in my portfolio but sold and bought aiico not because it was a bad stock but because dividends aren't due for some time so plenty of time to re enter. i'm not too keen on goldlink, thou its got potential. I believe its best to concentrate in order to maximise returns |
Typical bear market, dont want to over analyse so I dont feel too bad, I'll cancel my order and ride out this storm. |
Feel sorry for those buying the sls banks, once the terms of the mergers become public people would cry. Anyway thats the market for ya |
Doing my evening analysis, so expect a barrage of tweets, today was very bloody as expected and its gonna be like that for a while |
Just got some insider info that uba is gonna fall before it flies, possible entry price is N6. Pity I dont do banks and I'm not liquid |
Portfolio lost full points today and all my holdings are on offer which means most likely more losses tomorrow. Didn't bother to call broker |
I really doubt if the stock was sold today, guess I'll have to cancel the sale and ride out the storm |
my eyes are firmly on forte oil, but I need to sell down Ikeja and move some cash there. But current prices are just too low |
my current portfolio is 80% in ikeja hotel (@1.26) and 20% in aiico (@0.98k) |
This interest rate rise has really caused kata kata, the blood flow na wa o! How many storms person fit take. I doubt my sell order on Ikeja hotel would be filled and I cant get my self to sell below 1.60. Seems I'll have to ride out this storm |

cheikh:The PDP is a party that promotes free enterprise, and privatisation as solution to the problems facing the Nation, they can be compared to the Republicans, this is very similar to the action congress thou Buhari has expressed a more socialist view |
Buhari and Bakare is actually a Good combination but the problem is 1, their party is just too irrelevant and when compared to PDP's reach they dont stand a chance. 2, Goodluck's ascend to power sounds/was too miraculous and Nigeria being such a religious country has been looking for such a miracle and their campaign team is exploiting that to the max. And finally 3, GEJ/Sambo are actually the best candidates out there, Ribadu and Buhari have previously shown a lack of respect for authority and I think if they're given power their ego's might get the best of them |
The concept of good vs evil, the punishment of evil doers after death and the reunification of loved ones is a necessary ingredient in the control of any society with out these elements life itself would be meaningless, morality would be out the window and civilisation as we know it would be non existent, so basically even if the evidence points to a world without God I believe its prudent for people to have their God's so at the very least they have a purposeful existence. |
Thanks, i started the other thread then noticed this just now. Its a real shame that this sort of behavior happens online, this is actually the second time this is happening to my threads but what these moderators dont realise is that they are slowly killing the forum, i've personally decided to stop starting threads on this forum after all there are better/more matured forums out there (www.stockmarketnigeria.Com comes to mind) and i'll better treatment there. |
But stephen hawking is placing an argument based on hard physical fact and i'm yet to hear somin contrary |
When it came to the creation of the Universe, God just wasn't necessary. That's the conclusion renowned scientist Stephen Hawking has made in his latest tome, "The Grand Design," set to hit book sellers next week. "It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the Universe going," Hawking writes, according to an excerpt featured in London's The Times. The Big Bang was a natural event which would have happened without the help or involvement of God, he argues. "Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing," Hawking writes. "Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist," he says. The discovery of other planets and solar systems outside of our own, which has increased since the early 1990s, helped shape Hawking's belief that the earth and it's neighbors were not divinely developed. "That makes the coincidences of our planetary conditions – the single sun, the lucky combination of Earth-sun distance and solar mass – far less remarkable, and far less compelling as evidence that the Earth was carefully designed just to please us human beings," he writes. Scientists, including Albert Einstein, generally did not rule out the involvement of a higher being when it comes to the creation of the universe. Even Hawking did not exclude the possibility in his earlier book, "A Brief History of Time." Isaac Newton, who developed the theory of gravity, historically argued that his science could only explain so much of the universe's behavior, but not its creation. "Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion," he wrote. Hawking retired as Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University last year after 30 years, a position once held by Newton. www.nydailynews.com/news/world/2010/09/02/2010-09-02_stephen_hawking_in_the_grand_design_god_create_the_universe_it_would_have_happen.html?r=news |
