Surprised peeps are saying gbagada is Central to everywhere.

Surulere is more central to any location in Lagos than the other 2.

Anywhere in Lagos is easy to access from surulere.

How on earth will you say gbagada has easier access to the island than surulere. Haba.

I'm guessing Augusta College too. The school has been in hibernation for some time now. And I saw new signage there (covered) last week. Maybe they are pivoting into higher education.

Most likely the location.

It's large enough.

Even men that cant provide fully for their household are opening their mouth waa a and blaming the mother for dropping the baby at day care, yenyen yen.

Abi is it not this same NL that they keep shouting she must contribute financially.

That said

Hope it's not a very severe reaction to a very strange insect bite or a chemical poured on the baby's face.

If it was a fellow child it should be scratches on the face maximum.

Family / Re: I'm Contemplating Divorce After Two Years by NoToPile: 5:17am On Sep 04
Gerrard59:

I agree that women especially modern day women will not succumb to being the financial provider and offering sex at the same time plus house chores/childcare. So, I'm genuinely curious, apart from money, what do you think should a man offer? After all, women are making the same money as men do.

Very basic stuff, a bit of homecare/childcare simple.

But we all know an average Nigerian man living in Nigeria sees that as emasculating and there in lies the problem. Their eyes is shining on what she can offer financially making things easier for them definitely not what they can do to make her roles easier for her.

I always laugh when I see some posts on this NL, A woman has the burden of bringing the money, takes care of all the home front, has to be ready to look good for oga and satisfy him sexually in the other room, she has absolutely no help (maybe school creche) in a city like Lagos where you have to leave home 5-6am. They come home the same 7pm, Oga will go inside and rest and madam will not rest till 11pm and Oga will want to do the do she says she's tired kasala bursts, she wakes 4am again and everyone is ready by 6am to move out and the cycle continues.

One thing will definitely lack and most times it's always the sex and that pains men a lot.

Now lots of women will do all, or struggle just in a bid to keep everything together but they will end up breaking down it's just a matter of time. Why do you think some women look older than their husband's even when they are much more younger.

The funny part of this is when they get abroad everyone brings in money and anyone does any chore. It's still a mystery to me sha.

So for some women it's abeg let everyone do it's role shikena. 'Bring in the money and let me take care of the home front' but then the economic realities of this current Nigeria is saying otherwise, now how many families can be convenient on one income or better still only the man's income?

I don’t know what woman would want to provide for the man, do all the home keeping and child raising and still serve him.

No woman will do all of it, not willingly.

The bolded is basically what lots of Nigerian men want even a lot of male posters on this thread.

The earlier they get the reality the better.

It's only the woman contributing financially they are after, what else do some men bring apart from money.

I personally don't blame women who tow the you are the provider line. Lots of men have shown over time that the only thing they bringto a marriage is money. Money that the woman is making abi.

Then let the gender roles take its course but the men will still wail about that.

As for the OP I wish him the best in whatever he decides, but divorce or marrying a new person is not his solution.

I can see you have a baby.

Also most of the last portion is not a recurring/monthly expense I. E the school shoes etc part.

Apart from the baby items and the school needs expenses is there anything you guys can do without on the list?

10,000 spagetti is roughly 10-11piecesdepending on brand.
9,000 egg is roughly 2 crates monthly
Dunno how much of veg oil and palm oil you guys consume monthly though.
Family of 5, 3 children, 2 adults with the way things are expensive it looks fair.

If you feel it's too much or you are being burdened cut it to what you can afford shikena.

Every family is different, earning power is different and the dynamics are different.

There's one stuff I am seeing around now, creamer that people are buying up and down even giving to children as milk.

Properties / Re: Notice To Quit by NoToPile: 3:17pm On Aug 26
LinoBawse:
Good morning my Nairaland people,

So I have an issue,

After staying 2 years in an apartment, my rent expired exactly August 1st, 2024 and after expiry landlord reached out for his money and I politely told him I’ll be moving out and I need some time to secure a new place before parking my load out of his house, he then asked for how much time, I told him maximum by middle of September (next month) I should have gotten a new space. This man then told him I’ll have to pay him for 2 months that is august and September and I’m like how possible? I just told you I need some time to move my loads and you are asking me to pay? Okay I didn’t want to argue so I should stopped the conversation and left politely.

So my question now is, what should I do in this case?

Please bear in mind that when I got this apartment, he collected legal fees and I was never given any agreement form to sign.

I honestly don’t want to pay him any dime. What can I do? How best can I approach this.

Thanks, I look forward to reading from you all.

Regards.

You are to pay, he has done nothing wrong legally by demanding for payment. If he let it go it's his discretion.

Education / Re: Top WAEC Scorers In 2009 And Where They Are Today by NoToPile: 3:56pm On Aug 18
Solid analysis Gerrad59

I read it all.

There's always a trend in excellence all things being equal.

Nigeria has good schools, get a good late primary /secondary school for your child, if you have to start saving from their birth please do. Intentional parenting: the schools these children attend matter a lot. Lots of mission and non mission secondary schools are doing so well with these children these days.

I also like the fact that the girls are flying so high.

Good one OP, as a parent I am so inspired.
