The reduction is not corresponding with the dollar falls. Nigeria traders are the major problem of this country not government

Crime / My Landlord Gave Me A Fraudulent Quit Notice by NotoriousBiggyS: 12:17pm On Apr 06
rented this apartment at ikorodu last year June 1st. It a room and parlor self contaim at 200k yearly. Early this year the caretaker who is also the agent in charge of the house on behalf of the landlord brought am increments notice letter to us the tenant. And increments of additional 50k of which Most of the tenant argued with him .
Fast-forward to today, this caretaker brought quit notice to all the tenant in the building.
What baffles and annoyed me in is what is stated in the quit notice, they backdated the date which the quit notice was issued to us to October 30th 2023, which is supposed to be today April 5th 2024. That we are to quit the house by this 30th of this month.

My rent is yet to expire as my rent is to be due on 1st of June 2024. Please lawyers and legal practitioners in the house advice me on which legal action I should take against this unscrupulous landlord. Attached is the copy of the quit notice and also my house rent receipt . Thank you very much and I will be reading your advice comments

Bro...First you should not have collected that quit notice ...since it was backdated from October 30th 2023..and you renting the place in June 1st...and also the law stated that you should be given 6 months to look for another apartment.

Normally your rent suppose to be due in May 1st and not June 1st...so by back dating the quit notice given to you ...they are directly telling you and anyone that you given the mandatory 6 month as stated by the law...so once you rent expire by May 1st...na wahala be dat...
They have evidence that you collected a notice dated 6 month ago and that is the evidence against you once your rent expire.

My opinion here is this ... you and some of the tenant should go to any local government secretarial in your area ...that have office of public complaints there..tender everything you got from your caretaker to them and they will take up the case for u.

Bro you are right I shouldn't have collected the quit notice given to me today since it was fraudulently backdated to October last year

But I have evidence against them, an increments notice was given to us early this year. If according to them they gave us quit notice since October last year, how come was increments was still issued

Properties / Re: How Much Electricity Does Water Pumping Machine Use In a Month? by NotoriousBiggyS: 5:18pm On Oct 24, 2023
highoctane:

Why didn't your homeowner volunteer his meter? Why should it be you.
Your question smacks whether you will benefit, not what you will lose.

The landlord doesn't stays in the compound, she base abroad, only tenants stays in the compound and moreover I didn't chose this myself, it was impose on me because my flat is the closest to the pumping machine

It depends on a lot of factors undecided...

Factors such as the power consumption of the water pump machine (that is the size of the pump machine), frequency of use per month (that is, how many times the water pump machine is used per month) etc undecided...

So one can't really tell for certainty undecided...

However, since all the flat have their own meter, why did they decide to use your own and then pay you? undecided...

Why can't they use the meter of one of the other tenant and then you pay them the 1k? undecided...

My flat is the closest to the pumping machine unit
Properties / How Much Electricity Does Water Pumping Machine Use In a Month? by NotoriousBiggyS: 3:30pm On Oct 24, 2023
I stays in an apartment that has five 5flat , each flat occupied with 5 different tenants including myself. Before we uses direct electricity which we collectively pays monthly but recently got change to prepaid meter. With each fat with it own prepaid meter. The landlord refuse to bring another prepaid separately for the compound water Pumping Machine.
However the tenants come to dialogue and agreed to tap electricity from my own prepaid meter to the pumping machine in agreement that each tenant will be paying me 1000naira monthly. So I want to know if 5k can be enough to run pumping machine for a month?
