Fair enough. You were once a polite person here known for arguing at times unnecessarily.

I don't see any reason why you should compete about this. It's going to stress you and who are you trying to impress.

It's not worth it. The only worthy thing of note is the tips dropped about indriver. Nothing else.

Work when you want to work and SAY NO to unnecessary competition.

There is no way the 2 monikers are the same. One is just a bitter idiot and the other one is one of us.

It's as simple as that.

Don’t know why mrjaydee amd CheerfulGiver have so many things in common... just thinking aloud

They both drive for 14yrs
They both sound bitter and like abusing using words (fo-ols, Idio.t & ignoramos )
They both love jumping bus (obviously)
They both decided to reply at the same time and share one/one example of millionaire jumping bus. Was it planned ?
They both love dashboards posting.
Mrjaydee is always quick to say CheerfulGiver won an argument or fight and Felicity001 lost without being asked.

I don’t have time and strength to cut and join profiles. Just thinking aloud within Uber/bolt thread

Having your own car and still driving around lagos everyday of the week, grossing above 500k monthly, in my own opinion is suicidal.

Even if you are building a new house from your earnings and need to make a minimum amount daily, body no be wood. You will have more downtime than the average driver.

BIG THANKS to the car owners that will meet their target by 3pm and head home so that the drivers on rental can pay their partners.

Good. Someone finally noticed.

kanuisagoat:

I realised you're not much of an active driver so you may not really understand some of these things especially as your experiences may be limited to the few trips you do.

You are not looking at the fact that next time, the rider will make sure she's almost done with preparations before ordering a ride and will not keep the driver waiting.

Some of those riders who hop into your vehicle just as you arrived might have been schooled by people like felicity in the past.

Yes his account was blocked so what happened? He has survived without them and still doing okay.

I remembered when Felicity was always talking about his V6 Honda Accord. I remembered when he was looking for a partner to work with. I also remembered when he seriously persisted that he will never ever rent a car for above 25k and that was when 30k was the norm. I remembered that Dru doesn't give out his car for less than 30k then cos of his 100% maintenance policy.

But for the life of me, I don't know what could have triggered Dru to give out a car to Felicity considering the numerous abuses they both melted out to each other then and he also gave it to him below his normal rate.

Dru, I think you have got what's coming to you cos, you should have stuck to your gun and give out the car to someone else here on the platform.

Felicity was the only driver on Bolt that I saw with a rating of less than 4.0 and that was before he was blocked. I don't know what he had on Uber before he was blocked there too.

I said it once and I am saying it again. I will never give out my car to Felicity even if he is the only driver remaining here.

Enjoy your sunday guys !

Even as an owner driver, the business get k-leg. You will hustle with your car 5 to 6 days a week, trying to save some money, suddenly, something will break down in the car and you will use almost 40% of your previous earnings to fix it and then, the race starts again.

Meanwhile, Bolt and Uber sits pretty in their various offices collecting 20 and 25 percent commission respectively from the driver without owning a single car on the road.

They all should put some cars on the road and know if they will still maintain this their shitty fares. Although Bolt still dey try in terms of bonuses after certain trips.

My advice is - drive as much as possible while saving as much as possible, then, get out of this hustle. It's a back breaker.

Re: Partner-Driver wahala na when remittance combine with maintenance.

Bottom line from what I gather, is that the system is not sustainable. And what is happening now is doing the same old thing over and over again yet expecting different results.

If problems arise when drivers are settled with car maintenance alongside remittance, then

1) Cars should only be driven by owners
2) If not, rentals should be abolished. All cars should be given out on HP, to encourage driver commitment and responsibility
3) Toyota should only be driven by owners. HP should be on only affordable cars with less maintenance cost, and with shorter tenure to recoup investment.

My 2 kobo on the matter.

P/S: abroad UberBolt drivers are basically all car owners. Or they rent car on daily basis, with only fueling responsibilities

To get all these Bolt weekend bonuses, your body must tell you. As at 7am this morning, I was already above half way getting it but, my body wasn't the same. I just turned the car around and went home. Still sleeping till now. You will make money with Bolt. But, you go hear am.

You once said that it was mostly the ladies from the Eastern part of the country that are very rude. Now, it is them that apologises. Stop it please, I don't want to quarrel with you again ooh.

Felicity0001:

I think you should be more worried about the app and it's riders and not the drivers per say because same drivers drive on both apps. In my own opinion I think it's a function of the app/riders.

Bolt riders/ladies especially (from the eastern part of the country, apologies!) can make a gentle man change within 1 month. I speak from experience my dear.

I used to be a very shy and gentle person before I started driving with Bolt and there after, Uber... It's been almost a year down the line and I know I'm not that person I used to be.

I almost did what I did in 1965 again today but I've changed... Jennifer should thank her stars if not na the middle I 4 kick her out this time. Nonsense

To be honest with you, if I was driving only on uber in this Lagos without my Bolt driver app, I would have gone back to my village long time ago. That I am still doing big boy na Bolt ooh.

BAZ001:

Most people I know prefer Uber to bolt, their first call is always Uber and only turn to bolt when there is surge on Uber.
Something funny happened yesterday, I landed in Lagos 8:45pm na so I open app dey try request bolt, INDriver or Uber cos d babe standing next to me called a bolt driver dt she about to pick her luggage but my app shows no driver available on bolt.
I had to resolve to airport taxi na so all of them dey call 7k , 6k day curfew Dey. My bolt app was showing 2,600 - 3200.
If I tell them 3,5k dey will just walk away and it was raining so I had no choice.
This guy complained from airport to my house, with no AC , d guy was still begging me to add extra 500 because some people wey dey avoid army check point block road.
If you see the number of cars and buses on d road you won’t believe there is any curfew.
But I respect army they just block road and stay one corner and people dey pass short cut and burst out on the other side and they didn’t bother us.
In a nutshell E-hailing app favors rider more than drivers when compared to all this cab drivers dt will use complain finish you while paying double

As long as Uber sits in their office as the pretty child and still collects 25% on every trip and drivers can't still see rider destination, they will always play second fiddle to Bolt. With Indriver in the game now, 3rd place sure for them now.

Uber still the best standard. I think they need to work more on marketing.

Wanted to go out and net 5k on Indriver. Had one long trip on it. Got a 2nd rider on it and was just dropping off the rider when I got this message from Indriver support. That I have been blocked for one hour for late pickup.

I didn't know anything like that exists. I just set destination on my Bolt app straight to my home. I just got a message from them now that I can go online. You never start you don dey block people for late pickup.

I hope you are not lying as usual. It's extremely difficult to believe anything from you.

I remember blackbishop once stated here that you are a different person when not on nairaland. I find that hard to believe cos your behaviour is unique. Just go and work on yourself.

I won't trust my car to you whether HP or on rental. Enjoy.

Felicity0001:

Present Sir!

Currently in lekki... I'll say God has been faithful to me since my last disappointment.

First I got a car from a "ghost" partner within 4days after my great loyalty and hard work was disposed in a waste bin.

2nd, like weightless stated, I got a "cheap" car 03 corolla on HP at a price of <N1.6m for 16months payment time with a millage of 168000miles.

3rd, God provided money miraculously and was able to make a DP of N100k. Within 2months I've already paid more than 400k. Current millage 176000miles.

@jpworld the rep, your previous Honda civic I used came with 168000miles and I dropped it at 172000miles. Now do the maths yourself, 7months vs roughly 8weeks. I never cross ojodu Berger bridge yet oh. Bros, na soft work I dey b4.

@OP, no mind me jor I get time to shalaye small today... Because a coy just hired me for 2 weeks since monday. So like dis now Lekki Epe toll is totally blocked but you can use the Link Bridge, Landmark and Oniru route to your destination. Surge dey island like dis now but the request don't come as usual.

I left VI 9:27pm yesterday with 2 Italians and it took just 30min to GRA,Ikeja. Whereas I spent 2hrs+ from landmark back to the lekki epe expr way on Tuesday and about 3hrs going back to mainland same day.

So I guess you know your stakes now.

Good luck.

My problem with this is that the owner does 100% of the repairs and maintenance of the vehicle and the driver uses the car out of state without informing him. I am still surprised at how nice some owners are. Honestly.

jpworld:

Owners please always state in your contract, vehicle is strictly for uber/bolt, ondo/edo state not allow.

Driver will always claim rental should be low, so they won't over use the car, but here we go, a popular driver here @Felicity0001 negotiated a rent for 10k weekly, in the name of pandemic,i will use the car like my own, maintain it very well, because i once own a car, now run that same car to and flow to Edo state, more than 5times.

Come back here and claim your contract never restrict me from going to Edo state.

You're so lucky you dealing with dru23, try it with me, I will establish a contract fraud, and make sure u r charge, then come to court to defend yourself.

Most riders go to work with their cars now.

I have both apps on and have had just 3 short trips since morning on Bolt. None yet on Uber.

I can't just reason paying 25% all day on uber.

It's really frustrating. Any trip that takes me towards my house now and I am done for the day.

There are no rewards to look towards anymore. I could as well close shop.

It will be fun if I start doing English Police on this thread.

Real fun.

I was just thinking that people that post a lot here should make sure that there are limited mistakes in their posts. Of course, everyone makes mistakes while typing that's where auto correct comes in.

Felicity has refused to make what he posts readable and as such, I don't bother reading what he posts cos it's more of the same. He will confidently say he is a graduate and an engineer but nothing he posts here have proven it to be so.

Earlier years on this thread, Andrew used to make such mistakes a lot but has grossly improved and it's really commendable.

I am not too good with write-ups but at least, I read through things before I post. We are all learning here.

I apologise if you are offended by this but we can all always improve.

please I am looking for a drive to own HP,
location is ibeju lekki local government.
tokunbo corolla 2005 / Honda civic 2005.
I will be grateful if anyone can help.
down payment of of 150k is the max I can provide.

It's really surprising to me how we compare Corolla to Civic for ehailing. I am not a mechanic and I know just basic things about cars but based on user experience, Corolla 2005 cannot be compared to Civic 2005 for uber and bolt business.

I bought a tokunbo 2005 honda civic and did the initial servicing with the recommended engine oil and ATF and set to the business with it. After like a month and half, the car starts having all sorts of issues and I eventually had to change the transmission and still battling with the car being too low to the ground and leg issues.

A month later, I sold the car for 40% off my purchase amount.

I bought Tokunbo Toyota Corolla 2005, used recommended oil and stuffs and set to work with it. November 2019 will be the 10th month i started with the Corolla and all I have done is just basic servicing and nothing more and I drive at least 4 days in a week.

If you are using Civic for personal use, I am very sure it is a very strong and good car, but drive it from morning to night, 5 times or more a week, for 3 months. It's not good enough.

I am not trying to shade dru23 but this is my experience driving both cars. 100% user experience.

I no longer understand this forum. Thought it was for Uber partners to share on the job experience? Why have empty barrels made this place a haven to talk about a "never was" life? Which CEO brags about being one? Clowns. Nigerians are funny characters.

I don't agree to the bolded. It's not easy to own a business. Brag about it if you can but don't talk down on others while doing so.

Looking down on others is not smart at all. Having the right attitude at all times beats any form of level you must have placed on yourself.

before i could register a complaint, i had to COMPLETE my registration and set up an email address.
prior to this, i had NEVER had any notifications outside of the app

i hope this clarifies.
this is also applicable to anyone who rides uber for business trips
