Okay. So the Wi-Fi transmitters are from different manufacturers from the antennas?
I recall seeing one of the devices as ZLT X17m pro and I liked the specsheet I saw. I thought all of them (antenna and transmitter) are from same manufacturers. That's the one whose transmitter has standing antennas. It has a variant I saw online as just ZLT X17.

The day I will buy, I will make sure to check the devices and their specs before buying any specific one.

Do you know anyone who has used physical sim on ODUs which were initially registered as esim?

I didn't even see the device while registering. They only told me it's available and I will get it within 48 hours.

I have checked the outdoor unit and there's no slot for removable sim card but I just checked the manual that came with it and it seems the sim card is behind screws.

Okay. It may have the sim. One Airtel guy on Facebook told me some of the ones with esim as default can be used with physical Sim but I'm yet to confirm that from end users who have actually done it here.

The lack of physical sim is why I'm yet to get this ODU. I would have bought it earlier.

I thought one would see the sim when it's being registered. But you can check on the sides of the outdoor unit if there is a removable Sim card.

This looks like the old one. Is it physical sim version?

so for those talking about alternative means to power the ODU via powerbank ..i bought a type c to barrel jack with adjustable voltage from aliexpress.. i use a 65000 mah powerbank , i adjust the voltage to 12v to power the router as it is 12v-1a or so however the network is not really fast ..myabe cus it is powering the outdoor unit also..so i adjust the voltage to 15v and it works better.. if you go up to 20v it will trip the router

Good the manufacturer provided a protective measure, be careful while tinkering with the voltage as that's the quickest way to kill electronics.

However, my registration went smoothly until the final stage, where my NIN was rejected. The system claimed I’ve already used up the four Airtel slots linked to my NIN, and that I would need to provide another person’s NIN to proceed.
I’m not sure what else to do at this point.

I think I may have contact of someone working for Airtel in Delta who sells it. You will need to be close to him though.

Your first option would be to find the nearest official Airtel outlet in your area. If you can't, then let us know. I will ask the guy about how you can get it from him.

I doubt the price will ever increase in future, what you should expect from Airtel is another model of router in future and will be sold at discount again.

Airtel has almost 20 different router and they are not stopping here.

The competition is stiff.

You might be right about the price not going up, especially if they launch a new one. But this one being their supposed top product, it may linger for a while. I mean, X25 and X25 pro are still selling and were the top until the ODU project.

The black market will definitely sell the ODU at insane prices to uninformed customers in the foreseeable future, as they are currently doing the X25 versions.

And i am currently thinking of dumping it and go for the new ones because network is unstable using the ups alone with it. It's practically useless for me without electricity.

I have tried 3 different ups, the one of the 5g routers still, the batteries can't power it to get network.

Meanwhile my neighbour doesn't experience this problem

Abeg if you get another one you, I will be willing to take the old one if it's physical sim.

I'm currently using mine to respond. Everyone should kindly note that attimes there is a network glitch from Airtel that will take your unlimited away when u check your data balance it will say you do not have any active subscription. *323*2*Airtel number# to check your data balance it can be done on any Airtel not necessarily the one with unlimited. I hope this helps

The service has been fluctuating for a few hours now. I'm sure it will be fixed. I haven't checked on the app or the code since the thing is not completely off. No need to sub another line just to check.

Airtel should do all they can to keep this service stable. If not, they might be overtaken by the competition. They are currently doing well but they need to do more. Also, for my sake and for the sake of people like me, they should bring back the physical sim versions.

Guys, I have bad news for heavy data users. After using 1TB of data, my speed has been capped at 2Mbps. I have restarted severally to see if it would change, but it's hard-capped.

The device was installed on the 30th September, the last day of September. If you look at the screenshot below, you will see that I have used 980GB this month. It's not including the data I used on the 30th September, which would have indicated the entire 1TB.

I had hoped that this would not happen. It's clear to me that this is not for me. I typically use up to 2TB per month on my Starlink. I'm 100% sticking to Starlink, nothing comes close to it in this country. If 1TB is a lot for you, then this is good for you. The speed was consistent throughout the period I used it until I hit the 1TB.

So, it has FUP that is hidden. Airtel would have made it known.

But boss, wetin dey zap all that data? Mining or streaming?

Anyway, it's obvious it's not for you. 1TB is good enough for me at my current level of data usage.

We hope for the best.

No. Not sure it's going to be available in the foreseeable future. As someone who's always on the move, the ODU is a no no for me. I may get it anyway, for fear of it being exorbitant soon.

you would have gone ahead with that Starlink if you can. Airtel 50mbps after first subscription is 45k, Starlink 1000mbps monthly 57k .

He would have gone ahead if he can afford it since these ISPs don't want to learn to optimize their services like Starlink is doing.

Meanwhile, the price increase is false and you really should not post it if you didn't confirm it. I renewed at 22.5k (25k minutes 10%), which anyone can do for the 50mbps speed, via SmartCash.

They still reduced my sub expiry date for God-knows-why. Of course I will be on their neck when that date draws near.

Thanks for the suggestion! They got it fixed but I didn't get additional days like others. My issue started on the 3rd Oct, they fixed it today 14th Oct, to expire on the 17th. In summary, no expiry date increase even though i lost 10 days due to no internet.

As you guys are calling them, they have changed the one I renewed on 10th, which is supposed to expire on 9th of November, to now expire on 2nd of November.

They should expect me. I will keep quiet until close to that date.

Too much anyhowness from Airtel, for this product that should give them an edge. Pathetic.

One thing I don't like about the ODU router is that it consumes a lot of battery. The power bank last around 3hrs and if you're using additional type c to 12voult cord so that you can use your phone power bank it still draws a lot of power too

This is the best hack so far, tested and trusted. My guy's issue has just been resolved now after 10days of hell. He can browse now and the ODU payment option is now back, expiry date extended from 10th to 16th October.

When you call just tell those first responders you want their supervisor straight up. Cheers

you didn't lie bro. 3 weeks ago i had a similar issue. I requested they transfer my call to a supervisor. I poured out my mind and right on the call, the supervisor escalated my issue, told me to hold on then finally he requested i reboot my ODU and see the Magic! It worked right there on the call. I seized the opportunity to plead with the man to help use his influence to get us 5G in my area. He said he'll try. Last week, he called me while at work that 5G is live in my area. I couldn't wait to get home and boom.... 5G was live for real on my Router. The format works 💯

You didn't follow the instructions I gave you. It's a template I used more than thrice and in each case I got to speak with those they are 'escalating' to.

In fact, at one point, the ones they escalated to even escalated to other people. In the end the problem got solved.

Well, hopefully they eventually fix it for you.

The reason I prefer calls is that I get to pour my heart out to them and explain the thing as e dey hot and get response from them instantly. Emails and sm channels dey dull me.

Sha, the calls dey waste time too. The period between the first responders and the supervisors sometimes dey dey long, but I get battery and I dey wait.

Do this:

1. Call CC
2. When they pick, tell them to go through the records of your router line. Ensure you have the router number to call to them.
3. Usually, first responders don't know jack about router lines, so tell them to forward the call to their supervisors any time they say something untoward. They normally say you have exhausted the data. Tell them it's unlimited and should be time based and not data based.
4. You are vexed obviously, but don't show it, at least not yet. Be intent on communicating effectively about what happened, and be factual about it too.
5. The supervisor will go through the records and reset the date to the actual date. Ensure you tell them the date you subscribed or registered the line, as the case may be; and make sure the date is correct o.

During that bad period, I called them many times. They must have taken notice of my repeated calls because the calls were recorded. It could be because of me that they reset some people to 10th because the initial expiry date for the sub I did was 9/10, but after fixing it, they moved it one day ahead to 10/10/2025 which I have renewed and still using with no problems.

I want to get more insights on this to consider getting the available esim version. When one uses physical sim, which is not the originally registered one, will it be enabled by merely selecting the external Sim option in the router software? Is the physical sim not locked somehow with the software such that only the Airtel agents can enable it?

Does subscribing and using physical sim on the esim version count as "using the router" and hence won't warrant coming to reclaim the hardware by Airtel?
