Beachside: It doesn't matter if Efik origin is Yoruba,Ashanti or Uruan ,or whatever that means . Akwa ibom is not Cross river. Your allegiance is to Akwa ibom . Efik /Calabar should be none of your business. Like you bragged ,there's no such thing as Akwacross . akwa ibom is now Dubai and have all the oil ,so go there and worry about there. Don't worry about the Calabar and cross river. I have concrete reasons for supporting denial of the akwa ibom judge. I don't care about the crowd. My new feeling is that all Akwa Ibom should be expelled from Cross river. Ogoja should be given a state if they want it , and I think Southern Cross river (Calabar,Odukpani,Biase,Akampka,Akpabuyo) should either merge with Akwa ibom or aspire for a state which will be Calabar city-state. You don't need oil to build an organized society. You are not from the Calabar or Cross river,it should be none of your business. Like ibibiogrl said, she does not care about bakkassi plight because it's not ibibio land. i'm sure you do not care about that and also do not care about Calabar's progress or Calabar seaport or the 79 oil wells forfeited to Akwa ibom.
You and the other clowns said "There's no such things akwacross","akwa ibom is dubai now " etc. Yet there are thousands of people from akwa ibom living in cross river ,but there's not up to 200 people from cross river living in Aka ibom. And you're salty about akwa ibom judge being denied. Do you know the meaning of national interest? That's why Naturalized US citizens can't be president or any key positions whethe raised in the US from 1 year old. . For now, Akwa ibom state and cross river state of Nigeria are rivals . However;Efik, ibibio, anang Oron ,Ejagham, eket are one ethnicity. Unless Akwa ibom and southern Cross river merge ,they are rivals for now . You reason like one suffering from inferiority complex or somebody having a score to settle Thank good for the enlightenment of youth in this generation where greedy elites then politicians have failed us and were using us as weapons of destruction, it just a matter of time and as education, awareness and information continues to spread in this era of internet respect and pride for one another will be upper most in our mind You remain a fool and an infinite fool if the best you can offer is to sit somewhere outside the shores of Nigeria and think you know the dynamics of how things are done down here where there are thousands of new generations of youths in music, sports films, entertainment, IT, education are trying to do away with their ignorant parents, ego tripping elites and self centred politicians. The repairs and damages isn't gonna be easy but we won't be deter and a repulsive wannabe dumb ass like you won't stop us TV, radio stations, eforums, are springing up and making us in this generation to learn, respect and have our pride and identity Not the politicians or elites who can still marry their children to themselves and tell us lies You think Governor Ayade hates Akwa Ibom? Oh you are a misreable foreigner and tell that to your inferiority and scornful ridden father who taught you how to be a fool |

Beachside: A united and progressive Calabar (Akwacross) is preferred ,but for now I feel Akwa ibom can not be trusted. They think they have it all just due to baseless and unsustainable tangible development and 90 percent offshore oil which Uyo and Ikot ekepene have none of . They breed like rabbits and multiply poverty everywhere ,and they are not looking to unite, assimilate or accept Efik Calabarian methods as the standard and official. I support denial of the Akwa ibom judge and the appointment of the judge as long as he is from Cross river. that's why there should be ID database to separate wheat from chaff. On another thread, an akwa ibom individual was bragging that he was born and raised in calabar and ibibio will take over. His Allegiance is to Akwa ibom ,not cross river. I am American born and raised and mixed race and I qualify to be Governor of Cross river than that guy . it's about roots ,not born and raised. I don't care if an individual was born and lived ,school and worked all his life in Calabar, you are not from there and should be expelled if you do not pay allegiance to Calabar methods. There will be no seaport at Akwa ibom within the next 30 years . The only seaport on plan within the next 4 years is the Calabar seaport at Akpabuyo which will serve the entire cross river and the Greater Calabar area including Akwa ibom. Apart from English ,Efik is the standard and official language of the Cross river and Akwa ibom ,and is in the process of being registered by google. If Akwa ibom does not agree with these methods, all akwa ibom people should be expelled from cross river and a border wall built., all other mthods will be implemented to punish Akwa ibom forever. . Oh what a fool! An irredeemable fool |

I am most impress with you interest in this but by using sentences, dance patterns and the above has no bearing in concluding that this group aren't of same ancestry The English we speak and which is the official language in England varies from region to region What is spoken in London, Manchester, Newcastle has it own accent, dialect and pronunciation, there are three distinct English which are southern, Midland and northern but these are all English Even the dance pattern, food and music has it regional enclaves. Down here the Hausa spoken in sokoto, kano and Adamawa can be easily distinguished by Hausa's speakers yet same Hausa The youruba spoken in badagry won't be understood by an Ikeja brought up Yoruba and the Yoruba spoken in ondo, okitipupa, shaki I bet u can't be understood by this individual if you don't speak the central youruba Coming down home there is nothing different from what is spoken in Uruan, ITU that won't be comprehended in the entire calabar. The differences in Ibibio, efik and anang is just like southern, midland and northern England which are domicile in those regions. The accent, dialect and pronunciation doesn't make any of them different What brought about this was the arrival of the Europeans and fortunately for any chief back then especially those from the riverine area, they ceased the opportunity and promoted themselves and their territory While the obong who I will tell you can be traced to Uruan ancestry cannot be any further higher than the chiefs then in Uruan gained favors from the Europeans and consolidated his dominance, that can't be said of the other chiefs. You can't tell me the Efiks own calabar, the Quas and Efuts have the core inner land while the Efiks dominate the riverine areas Now the ibibios are using the oil wealth as Europeans to gain dominance. Forget the Ghana fables of anang being from Ghana or any group claiming to be above the other Ibibio,(ekid, ibeno)efik Anang oron and ekoi( ejahgham) are of the same stock and origin . Efiks are Urauns they only promoted themselves courtesy of the Europeans they were privileged to encounter first before others, the same thing with the itshekeris and obas of Lagos aswell as in many other parts of Africa The era of tribe boosting self ego is history, this is an era where anthropology and DNA makeup of people can easily show and prove ur lineage and not bragging like ignorant fools You do know your onions very well @mildflame |

Christianity Etc › Following Bombings, Muslims In Sri Lanka Under Attack, Forced Out Of Homes by nsiba(op): 6:26am On Apr 28, 2019 |
Human rights groups have warned tensions between religious communities in Sri Lanka are at breaking point in the wake of the terror attacks targeting churches and hotels on the island nation, which killed at least 359. Hundreds of Muslim refugees have been forced to flee Sri Lanka’s west coast amid attacks of revenge, Reuters reported Thursday. The majority of those fleeing have left from the multiethnic port of Negombo, where the deadliest of Sunday’s attacks took place. The death toll from the attacks carried out by the radical Islamist National Tawheed Jamaat (NTJ) group at St. Sebastian’s Church in Negombo is believed to be close to 200, making the assault there the deadliest of six blasts across the country. In the wake of the atrocities carried out on Easter Sunday, the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) released footage of NTJ members swearing allegiance to its global terror brand. ISIS has made spectacular acts of violence, stoking ethnic and religious tensions, its calling card throughout the world Alan Keenan, Sri Lanka Senior Analyst for the nongovernmental organization International Crisis Group, told Newsweek that in the Catholic-majority area of Negombo emotions were running over. “Feelings of anger, grief and fear are very high,” Keenan said. “But even before the Easter bombings, anti-Muslim sentiment was high across the country, a product partly of a seven-year campaign by radical Sinhalese groups who say they are defending Buddhism against the threat of a too powerful and dangerously radical Muslim community,” he added. Sri Lanka’s Muslim minority make up nearly 10 percent of the country’s population, which is overwhelmingly made up of ethnic Sinhalese, 75 percent of whom practice Buddhism. Hindu Tamils make up 15 percent of the nation’s inhabitants. Initial reports have said the first reprisals against Muslims have been meted out against the refugee Ahmadi population from Pakistan. The group, which believes in a 19th-century prophet, was chased out of the country after their sect was declared non-Muslim. Farah Jameel, a Pakistani Ahmadi, told Reuters she had been thrown out by her landlord with nowhere to go. “She said, ‘Get out of here and go wherever you want to go, but don’t live here,’” Jameel explained, as she waited with others hounded from their homes at a nearby mosque. At Katara police station, 35 Pakistanis had to be taken into protective custody and then sent on to an undisclosed location. Their neighbors have overwhelmed law enforcement with calls accusing Negombo’s Pakistanis of involvement in the Easter bombings. Keenan said it is not only Pakistani refugees who could bear the brunt of hostilities. “I think all Muslims in Sri Lanka are at risk of retaliatory violence. The Pakistani refugees were probably particularly vulnerable because there were foreign, don’t speak Sinhala well [and] are less integrated,” the analyst said. Authorities have said they are still searching for individuals involved in the bombings. The Associated Press reported the country’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said Thursday suspects remained at large and could still have access to explosives. Wickremesinghe also admitted his government faced gave challenges not seen since the end of Sri Lanka’s internecine civil war a decade ago. "This is another experience for us. Not that we are not strangers to terrorism, but this is global terrorism, so we have to ensure that we root this out," he told the news agency. https://nsiba.com.ng/2019/04/28/following-bombings-muslims-in-sri-lanka-under-attack-forced-out-of-homes/

Richdad50:

A majority of Nairaland commentors are Dundees. There are over 2million members on Nairaland with an estimated 10million non registered members. Out of the over 2million register members, only 0.5% of them are regular commentors who also push the like, share, and mention buttons. 70% are active readers who go through the comments but don't like, share or mention. 29% are active readers only. They don't wish to see the rubbish posted by half of 0.5 commentors.
That is why the average maximum likes fluctuates between 100 - 300likes per very good and very useless comments and peak at 400likes for great and most useless comments. There is a battle for the soul of commentary amongst the 0.5% with a significant push and leanings towards the 'useless'.
If the high nos of reasonable readers from the 99% push the buttons, the average likes, shares or mentions for a great post will peak at over 200k or more just like you find in Instagram. However, the ruthlessness and insolence of half the 0.5% who quickly post the 'useless' has painstakingly made it difficult for the 70% who regularly search for good and great comments and 29% who rarely are interested in going down the journey of 'useless'.
When I write, I write for the digestion of the 99% and half the 0.5%. The most reasonable and important part of the group who although, stay quiet, are far more active in mind.
