To be honest I see no reason why Smith should play, worse still in mid-field. smith weighs 10st6 (66 kg) while carrick weighs 11st12 (75 Kg)-not taking anything from smudge but his physique says he's a no--no.

I was disappointed when smudge played against southend, he was just bossed off the ball. Verdict- Love his determination but he is just not fit.

I smell something really funny with our youth system. Look at the likes of Richardson, Brown , O'shea not one of em is consistent, again players like Evan(s)-blakes, David Jones, Just when you have your hopes raised that they may come into the first team proper, they leave for lower division sides.

Not that I want to see everyone in an AIG kit being a superstar, squad players are invaluable but must show that they have what it takes to play at the highest level.

Where does Freddy fit into this,reallistically-should we sign him, we will pay more than 4 million, just for his profile. can he become a first team player and not end up like the quadruplets? or Ferguson's infamous four ( ok yet to be famous four).We need players who are more physical with their game, please hargreaves is a forgotten issue.There are other players like Chidi Odiah.

C; I personally think Stephen Appiah is very equal to the kind of player we want, however how old is he really? and sh*t he is african.
It seems to me that the reigning box to box midfielders and defensive midfielders are from Africa; Essien, Diarra, Sissoko,Diop,Appiah.

we definately have a good chance of going far this season, our next Three games are away,with Solksjaer coming through during this time, we perhaps have more options on the right and Upfront.

Our next game is against premiership underdogs,sheffield United-will they succumb to the fire power of the new united, most definately.  The only worry we have is Gazza's injury, especially since his conversion to a striker albeit the most useless one at old trafford . I would expect the Gaffer to leave a few of the top dawgs on the bench in preparation for the next games.

Next on the Menu is Celtic. A win secures a place for us in the next round of the CL. I'm willing to bet we play against Bayern, Real or PSV- Just a gut feeling. This promises to be an action packed game just as the first tie was not disappointing.This game would pprobablybe a prelude to our game against Chelsea.

Ceteris Paribus, the game on the 26th is a six pointer. There's been a lot of hype, but United should come out Tops especially because we have the advantage of scoring from anywhere- its interesting to note that we haven't scored only from the RB and Gk positions, hopefully Neville will be fit and would remedy the situation with his partners ,hailed as the new Bruce and Pallister,continuing with there 36million pound perfomance-indeed the performance of this duo would make a 300million team look average.

@ Jackal . One of the few pleasures I get from us loosing a game is reading your description of players who have earned " Jackal's Ire".

Fergie made a gamble, which in my uniformed opinion was right. unfortunately we did not look lively enuf and the game had a draw or a united win written over it by half time. The pluses for me are that Fletcher is gaining some consistency and Gabby is getting matches. I would have loved to see smith and Richardson too.

Having our first team against Pompey is a cut and dried affair, , NO turkish movements, Gambian chickens or gays. I'm expecting a hat-trick for Saha, 2 from Wazza and a goal from Giggsy.

Its too early to pass Judgment on Martins, at least being a Man U fan Saha's raw power matches his.Difference is Saha has very good movement, his dribbling is above average_which cannot be said for Oba.


My major concern is that Martins Just runs after the ball and Gbosa takes a shot. Perhaps due to Newcastle's police football.

I think if he had Duff coming in from the wing with crosses and a few guys around to put the ball on ground( Kanu would have been Good or say robo cop) he stands a better chance of Leaving his mark
