Oga I have previously argued the same way as you have. But look at this way, if a son says his biological father is not his real father but points to another man as his father because of certain pecuniary benefits, then his biological father has every right to disown that bastard son.
Who sabi Ikwerre? how many exploits have they done to bring pride to the Great Igbo nation apart from cultism, political killings and drinking tombo. Name 5 internationally acclaimed Ikwerre person of repute in any field? They should be begging to identify as Igbos not the other way round. Study them properly, they have nothing to offer the Igbo nation apart from creating confusion everywhere.
For public information, Ikwerre are not Igbo, they are the descendants of Iwhuruosa a Bini slave who escaped his captors via the tributaries of River Niger and landed in ancient Igboland. They later would modify the name to 'Iwhuruoha' as the Igbos they met would pronounce the name of their progenitor. Later they would became Ikwerre and I will tell you how.
In Igbo the word Ikwerre means 'I agree/accept', the Igbo gave them that name because when they were looking for land to settle after escape from Bini anywhere the Igbo gave them to settle, they thank their Igbo hosts by saying 'Ikwerre', a corruption of the phrase the phrase 'Ayi kwerre' which means 'We agree/accept'.
That's the true hidden story of how Ndi Ikwerre came to be where they are today. Go and ask any honest old man around Imo/river axis. I'm from that area myself, they'll tell you- Ndi Ikwerre abughi Ndigbo, ha biara-abia. They are not Igbos, they are escapee slaves from ancient Bini kingdom.
They are just not keen in making their Bini heritage public because it undermines them as descendants of Bini slaves but prefer to align with Igbo only when it suits them because of the majority status that Ndigbo enjoy.
Another angle. My argument is if indeed the are from Bini there should be residues of their culture or language that points to that.. Either by their names, or traditions or market days. Yet nothing points to that fact.. Do you know about the people of Oguta in Imo State? I think the are from Bini or delta, and the have facts that points to that, even Abariba people in Abia state are from Akwa Ibom or Cross River, and you can easily agree to that based on their mode of dressing, their masquerades etc. There is no how a people can totally lose their identity after migrating to another location. Like I said, it's all about the civil war the ibos lost. Simple. 6 Likes |

Igbos are not forcing ikwerre minorities into any alliance. They are the ones stealing Igbo language, names and identity. When they commit crimes at the national or international level, people will say 'omo Ibo don commit another one'. The whole of the Igbo race bears the brunt. So Igbos need to be very concerned. These Ikwerres are descendants of Bini people who migrated during the slavery era from the Bini empire or even possibly with some traces of yoruba genes, yet they are keen bearing Igboid names.
The solution- Relinguinization of Ikwerre ethnocultural system. It can be done. Even Rotimi Ramaechi have shown them they can start renaming themselves to do away the vestigates of Igbo toga little by little. Wike can start by budgeting like 200 billion for the project and incentivizing his Ikwerre people. He can say, any father renames his child with a Bini name gets 1 million naira. If you are Ikwerre and has a child bearing Emeka and renames him Osahon, you get 1 million naira, if you have 5 kids, that's 5 million naira. This would do a lot of magic. Even N100,000 per child will help the re-bininization revolution in a massive way.
Incentivization worked during the civil war when Gowon and Fulanis allowed them to keep their lives for denying to be Igbos, it would still work today and will help stop all these confusion and put to rest the quagmire and everyone will be happy.
If indeed ikweres are not igbos, how come the bear igbo names, speak a dialect of igbo?have same market days with ibos! In the North, there are alot of tribes who speak same language, Hausa, even bear Hausa names yet their traditions are distinct and different from the Hausas. It's not the same with Ikweres. What happened to their bini heritage? All these boils down to the Civil War which the igbos lost, making alot of people refuse to identify themselves as ibos because of the stigma the igbos have been enduring in this shithole called Nigeria. If the igbos won the war, idiots like wike would have been amongst those screaming they are igbos. And for the other fools like Afamded, they should get a life. Whether Ikweres agree the are ibos or not, that's their bloody business. 25 Likes 1 Share |

All this because we in the north refuse to participate in a well crafted southern agenda. Well not entirely South but south east agenda using southern Sentiment to hide a well crafted plan. The instructions and destruction of southwest was well planned. Live radio feedback was going on while the protest was happening and clear instructions of who or where to target was given. My issue here is why will a northern meeting to review recent events and praise its people for not participating in a protest cause so much pain to you people. Nobody stop u from convening any meetings at any given time and no eyebrows was.ever raised from any of ur meetings from the past including this current one.
Well we are now witnessing the unveiling of the sponsors of endsars or rather south east coup protest sponsors gradually.

RedPhoenix: Concerning the issues in/at Oyigbo
It has come to our notice that certain persons without good intention are promoting false narratives of events.
miscreants trying to control the narrative against the interest of Rivers State with false narratives and ethnic colored Propaganda
They stoked a war, started a fight they didn't have a strategy on how to finish, when challenged with the consequences of their ill-planned actions, they then begin to throw accusations around.
Go and check the record, Rivers have always had an unfriendly posture with Police and army throughout Wike's tenure.
IPOB made Oyigbo, Rivers a security threat by inviting outside forces to the region and when things go aflame, they begin to cry aloof, Wike this, Wike that.
Cross over to Abia and begin to kill armies and then summon Ikpeazu to summon the navy to fight the army.
I'll educated miscreants.
It has become glaring that some ethic jingoistic of the SE extraction has been brandishing false narratives of events that occurred. And claiming all sorts of nonsense.
If you can't abide by the laws of any land you feel isn't homeland, go home. Return home and go and be lawless there. Nuisance
You want Eungu preserved by all means but want Rivers to burn.
Foolish things. We won't allow you control the narrative with your so called " blessedness" that people want you down because they have fear for you.
There are more igbos in PH, than in Oyigbo. They are not been killed or attacked in anyway.
We won't tell you to stop the false information peddling, but will tell you to return to where you call home and feel safe at home and go and be completely lawless there and see if the consequences of lawlessness won't reach you regardless of location.

DISCLAIMER :
IPOB Must be held accountable for everything happening in/at Oyigbo
I will never allow them to mess Rivers state up though I'm not from Rivers, have never stepped foot on Rivers soil, don't have any relative or friends from Rivers. But I'm intelligent enough to look at facts and speak the truth without fear of losing friends even business associates. The truth is my path. I have hardly met anyone from Rivers and have always considered my igbo brothers as my brothers and all my life have always held a pro-igbo stance. From today, I'm throwing it away. I won't appease a people who are intolerant of people they consider different from them who try to drown the voices of others with their false ethnic colored Propaganda.
I won't tolerate it. IPOB invited the Nigerian Army to Oyigbo and are the enemies of the igbos, not persons who are non-igbo.
False narratives when people with a situation to depict an entire event which as intelligent people should know isn't always as portrayed.
Condolences to the bereaved. Utmost respect to the dead and we must never allow the dead go to the grave without grieving with the mourning. We will however not let this hijacked by persons who have I'll societal objectives.
No
No one is happy about the deaths of youths, male or female. However, we must promote file narrative of events
IPOB must be held responsible for the deaths in Oyigbo. It's IPOB. IPOB brought the army to Oyigbo to kill igbo youths.
