Powersurge:
Putting age, religion, gender, and other discriminatory information on your resume are increasingly being frowned at. Notwithstanding, one has to put age in entering level job applications as that is one of the criteria that employers used.

Though entering level job does not mean that you have no experience. An applicant with 10+ years experience could be applying for entering level job (perhaps changing field).
You'll notice I didn't state religion or gender in the original post and I also placed emphasis on Nigerian employment.

In Nigeria the private sector recruitments are all age specific. Especially the high paying jobs.
To increase your chances of success age must be clearly stated.

Thanks for your contribution.
Jobs/Vacancies / COMMON CV ERRORS YOUNG GRADUATES MAKE by Nutase: 1:06pm On Nov 04, 2021
I was recently involved in shortlisting CV's for recruitment by one of the top employers of young graduates in Nigeria and I observed a worrying trend with more than 98% of CVs submitted. Most of the CV's omitted very important personal information needed to decide who proceeds to the next level.

I will like to issue a disclaimer before I proceed. I am not a HR personnel nor an expert in CV writing. I am only sharing from my personal experience.

It is advisable to have different versions of your CV for different categories of applications. For example you can have one for academc applications, international job opportunities and lastly and most importantly for Nigerian job applications.

This write up will focus mainly on the CV you need for Nigerian Job applications.

In Nigeria a lot of information is needed by employees for shortlisting candidates for an entry level position.

Top amongst them are:
1) Date of birth
2) Class of degree
3) Course of study
4) NYSC status
5) State of Origin.
6) Name, Address, Phone number and email
7) Name of university

Over 90% of the CV's we processed omitted the first four items on the list above.

If for any reason you omit any of these information on your CV, the chances of you getting called for a test and interview drops to almost zero percent. This is because these are the metrics used for shortlisting and HR personnel are too busy to start calling each applicant to confirm these details.
Secondly, the number of people applying for every advertised position is 'crazy' and that makes sorting of CV's very difficult for those involved in the process. So most of them have little or no patience and can discard a CV for the flimsiest reason.

Before preparing your CV see it as a summarized physical representation of your personality. An employer should be able to get as much information from it in so short a time.

Lastly, I will like to address the issue of the email address used for job applications in Nigeria. It is best to use email services with fewer restrictions e.g. gmail and yahoo. Some emails have extreme security features and can hinder your chances of seeing an email from a recruiter.

Religion / Re: Attitude Of Some Deeper Lifers(workers Including Pastors) by Nutase: 7:02am On Jun 20, 2021
captaininiobong:
my name is iniobong, I am also a deeperlifer born in the church building. the attitude towards Christianity some members are exhibiting isn't right.
There was a day I was sick of malaria, my pastor called me not quite long to be in attendance of Thursday revival. I told him am sick. he insisted that no body to buy fuel for the church service. Because of the love (personal) I have for God, I stood up in pains and get to the church to buy fuel. could you believe what my pastor told me? how much fuel did I buy?
After getting the fuel , put on the generator, I told him I would be leaving so I could relax at home. he said I should wait till when the church is over so I get my healing before I go.
Right inside me I was feeling weak with headache I told him I want to go and rest. he said I should wait. I didnt remember what happened next but I left him because he doesn't value my health. he did not ask me if I've taken drugs or eaten. all he is concerned is for me to complete attendance.
some committed deeper life members will never want you ask them for help. they don't know how to love humans . they only know how to love God. I had a friend that left all and was committed to deeper . the guy was poor, he will always attend church on time but no body has ever given him a cup of garri to drink, no body asked him how he survives as student not until when the guy realized he is putting himself into a mess. that Oluwa is still God he had to go and hustle but he is trying now but not to committed as before because he knows no body cares about him.
My pastor will call me 2hours before church service to be in church as if I don't use to attend.I will go and sweep, clean and make sure every where is tidied. but this same pastor will come late to church.
some of the members are committed to the church, but when you look at them, they don't look as if God knows them, no progress, nothing at all .they are poor, some even manage to feed withtheir children. some are workers but the church never appreciate them financially. you will see a pastor with one shoe, instead of the church should appreciate even down to local pastors, the church will contribute 50million naira and give to federal government during covid 19 while members in rural district are hungry.
The pastor of living faith, Daddy Oyedepo bought food stuff and distributed to its members during covid 19. deeper life took 50million and gave to buhari.
A Deeperlife member had a little challenge in finance to complete his project in school. he went to the accountant general in akwaibom state, that was a member too. they looked down on him , he was ashamed and left.
I completed my university education, I had financial issue to carry out my clearance. I sent a text to my senior pastor he didn't even send me any reply till today. but I asked an unbeliever for that same help and she assisted me. if we continue like this even what will be the future of our younger ones?
THIS MESSAGE GOES TO THE LEADERS OF DEEPERLIFE CHURCH.
its high time deeper life cordinated themselves . We are the kingdom of God . let's not look as if God is abstract. let's love ourselves in action. we all are humans.we need love, we are family.
From your write up one can deduce that your service to God through the church is transactional. Because you clean the church you expect once you send the pastor a text for money he will rush to credit your account.
Have you for once asked the pastor how he is coping with life's challenges? Havent you heard of "widows mite"? In your lack you can start helping people in the church and maybe God will see your effort and empower you to be the helper of the poor in the church.

Secondly, I will love to introduce you to the concept of trusting God. It may sound abstract but it works if you are patient. The bible says woe is he who trusts in the arm of flesh. You have put too much trust in man and they have disappointed you and you're now trying to blame the church and probably you are already on the path of backsliding. I will love you to know that "no be every body wen carry Bible know God." Know this and know peace.

What God looks at is the heart not lipservice or the eye service we do in church today in the name of "worker."
Lastly, it's obvious from your write up that you were born into the church but have not had a real and personal encounter with God hence the ignorance you exhibited in your write-up. Work towards having a personal encounter with the Holy one and I promise you'll have a paradigm shift.

If your dad really abandoned the traditional way of doing things when he was alive then he will be disappointed in you right now for what you are doing.

You are trying to impress your relatives by begging strangers. Which is more shameful?

Sorry if I sound harsh but there is no such thing as 'buried like a pauper' or puppet like you said. Besides you can always celebrate his life when God blesses you in the future. For now just commit him to mother earth and say a little prayer for him.

Money rituals is not only when you kill someone physically and use his body part in a shrine for rituals.

All those nnewi boys importing and selling fake drugs in main market, the ones that take loan from banks and refuse to payback, the ones that import inferior quality goods are also into blood money.

How does his question affect you? Is it your money he is spending or is it your stingy??

Nobody is asking him not to verify, it's a free world and we know the theory of pepper pricing, you don't have to remind us. He can also go the the market and do his estimates himself.

"Good clients" are the ones who do things within the boundary of what's right and profitable for both parties. They appreciate people's sweat and understand that you pay for quality.

Coming online and opening your building's plan to the whole world, displaying the name of the contractors is a desperate thing. If you don't have money to build, be patient and save up instead of making a mockery of someone's profession.
It's obvious you think the op is picking the money on the floor.
What is wrong in getting different price lists before awarding a contract. Besides that is standard practice in both public and private sector organizations.
Secondly your idea of a "good" client is a maga you can just exploit. Probably a politician who has stolen government money and wants to hide it in some fake project.
As long as the op worked hard to earn his money, he has every right to spend it in such a way that minimizes his loss.

I weep for this wicked generation cry . We forget that what goes around comes around.

I remember when Nigerians were hailing Yahoo boys that they were recovering Africa's stolen wealth from the whites.
When the oyinbos wisened up they came back to defrauding Nigerians.
Now Nigerians have started getting wise they have upgraded to Yahoo+.
I remember some boys hailing them because it was only ladies and their pants that were affected. Now they have resorted to male used boxers because girls are getting wiser. It is clear that no one is safe without God.

Dami12345 I pray none of your siblings, children or generation will fall victim of these wicked people. You better stop justifying evil.

People who do legit hustle don't have 10 heads. The only difference between them and the Yahoo boys is contentment and patience. They have come to understand that life is in phases and have developed the patience to grow from one phase to the next, being contented with the little they can afford at each stage of life..

May God help us all.

Those myopic people talking of a lineage "ending" please answer the questions below:

-Does a dead man know what a lineage is
-What if you have a boy and he turns out gay, has your lineage not "ended"?
-What if he turns a ritualist and uses you to satisfy his blood thirsty god's??

My dear if I was you I'm done having kids. Dont end your life trying to please an ungrateful man. Thank God for the kids you have. I know some couples that are asking God for just one child irrespective of the sex.

Let him go outside to have that son. So that he can give uncle Karma an unwilling tool he will use to 'end' that lineage he is trying to 'keep alive'.

Please do not fight him or even attack any of the ladies he is dating. Leave them to Uncle Karma. He always does a good job and never disappoints.

Peace

Phones / My Honest Review Of The Infinix Note 5 Stylus by Nutase: 8:08am On Dec 15, 2018
After reading a lot of positive reviews, I decided to buy the infinix note 5 STYLUS powered by Android one and I must say I am dissapointed at the OS build they used. Most reviews I read before buying this phone was centered on the hardware. I didn't come across any one which gave a honest review of the software. Find below my own observations:

The software lacks the following:

Call Recorder
What is an android phone without an inbuilt call recorder integrated into the software that you can use or set to record automatically. In the Hot Pro series a long press on the finger print scanner can discretely activate the call recording app because it was integrated into the phones OS.

Freezer App
This app is used for storage off apps you do not intend to delete and you also do not often make use of. It helps clear space in the memory of the phone and enables you to eat your cake and still have it.

Xhide App
This is one of the selling points of the Hot pro series and is what made me fall in love with the INFINIX brand. It enables you hide apps, pictures and videos on your phone were no one, i repeat no one can ever find them unless they have the code to the app. I really miss this feature.

Xclub app
This app connects you to other infinix users world wide and also grants you direct access to the developers and programmers of the phone. It is very important because it can help you solve your phone problems at the blink of an eye. Google is important but this app makes google a learner to getting information and up to date news on your Infinix phone.

Calculator App
Can you imagine a phone without a calculator Weird, isnt it? As simple as the calculator app Infinix could not add it to the OS of the phone.

Cleaner app

The Hot PRO series have a cleaner app which seeks your permission before deleting any file it thinks is occupying unnecessary space on your phone, but for the stylus phone i discovered it deletes your files without your permission and i have been unable to trace it to at least see if i can program it to stop this. A very good example is my youtube APP downloads. After using my hard earned data to download youtube videos i want to watch at a more convenient time. I discovered all the videos i downloaded were deleted without my permission by the phone.

Screen Record
Very important app which was omitted too.

I feel the OS is the Achilles heel of the stylus and I pray an update will be done in the near future to address the issues raised above.

NB: I no someone will tell me to go and download these app in the play store. The inconvenience of downloading and deleting apps until you get the appropriate one to use is exhausting.
