Elai147: 1 million naira will give you 11,614 units of WAPCO. If they pay N3.50 it will translate to N40,649 dividend. The same 1 million naira will get you 305,810 units of AFRIPRUD, and you get N131,498 as dividend on the 43kobo dividend payment. I did not even factor in the interim dividend of 17kobo. I would rather buy expensive Nestle than put my money on WAPCO even if I have to factor in all kinds of fundamentals. Thanks for this. I will considering selling at current price and jumping into something with higher dividend yields |

Coolcash1: Nestle and WAPCO 2015 FYE results would definitely be impressive...Smart investors should take position on these stocks now to avoid Afripud/DangoteCem/UBA rush...my one cent.
Good am peeps. Morning Bro, I suspect you are correct about WAPCO where I am long... entered at N81.00K... Hopefully they can pay N3.5 or N4 in dividends But NOBODY is selling Yesterday only small units (i think about 5,000) was available at N85.00k meanwhile over 700k bids at between N77 & N81 Anyway will try for N80 at 9:30am this morning... maybe I will be lucky (I no get money for Nestle now plus haven't done any analysis on it) |

Dear all, do your analysis check with your sources as well.
I am heavily invested in Zenith but I'm not long on them.
I plan to sell cum div once they have made the necessary announcement.
That being said I do know of a significant (read >$40m) oil & gas related exposure they have that would take a hit whether in '15 or '16
Na their accountants plus auditors them know how them go cook and serve that dish to the shareholders.
This is the NSE... where you cannot punish management for irresponsible stewardship.
I WILL MAKE MONEY IN THIS NSE SHA!!! |

Intendy: so many things here still need to be answered. take your age into consideration. 2)is it for passive income (via dividend) 3)or capital preservation. 4)since we are not God to know the end of today not to even talk of 10 years from now, what is your backup plan if the above should fail? Oga, this is just a poll to compare answers... A friend answered NEM, another one said AFRIPRUD, EDUECO has said DANGCEM No overthinking... What would YOU choose? |

Intendy: sorry to say.there are many stocks that I can tell you and you'll still come back 10 years from now and meet them on the floor.they have existed on the floor for more than 10 years people have held the cornerstone's,afrinsure, abc, beco petroleum, costain, japaul likewise the nestles, wapco NBL.total etc so it all bugs down to what you want If you had to choose one that will survive based on maybe quality of management, growth industry, quality of earnings etc... what would your choice be? |

Manonamission: Speaking of Oando. Afrinvest just placed a BUY on Oando on the premise that it's oversold/bottomed out. Who wants to dine with the devil?
http://proshareng.com/news/Investors%20NewsBeat/GUARANTY--UBA-and-ZENITH-Are-Top-Picks-in-Banking-Sector---Afrinvest/30182 They will still take a huge loss at year end 2015.. so minimum holding period will be a year... Kai Nah... I waka pass |

megainvest: Difference number 1: SEPLAT is making profit while Oando is making losses.
Difference number 2: SEPLAT has a very good management while Oando has a very bad management.
I will NOT recommend Oando to anyone right now. It's just that I have a strange feeling about it which will make me investigate a little bit more. Oando has a habit of pulling off tricks when nobody expects. I suspect they have captured most of the write-downs in their $1bn loss last year and so this should be ground zero for them The CEO was saying as much in a 5 min BBC interview I watched yesterday... but with those guys you never know Abeg let me know what your own investigations reveal |

Manonamission: I still remember the awards, speeches, ovations Wale received when the COP deal was finally approved. The drama leading to the approval sef no get part 2. COP cashed out real cool leaving Oando with an empty can (after the downward revision of reserves.....wetin remain?). The cost of not doing thorough DD is HIGH. Lessons for us all to learn. When I saw Oando at N2.97, it triggered emotions of pity on the stock itself. I will load up on Oando if it hits N2.5... as far as I remember they still have a hedge at N65 on the COP production... but I will read up on that first sha before making my decision |
