Romance / “i Am In A Relationship” Explained. by Nwachiizu(m): 11:22am On Mar 12, 2023
A relationship is a close connection between two people of the opposite sex, especially one involving romantic or sexual feelings.

The two feelings (romance and sex) that connects two people of the opposite sex in a relationship outside of marriage is what the Bible calls immorality, fornication and adultery. God warns against these feelings.

What relationship do you need as a single? This is a question that calls for urgent answer because the temptation to have a partner of the opposite sex outside the confines of marriage is intense. The relationship you need as a single is the relationship with God.

If put in proper perspective and given due diligence and seriousness, the relationship with God will occupy the desires of a single’s mind so that all other relationships becomes a distraction.

When a single has a relationship with God he/she avoids any relationship that involves the two feelings (romance and sex) that connects two people of the opposite sex because he/she will understand that the feeling and act of immorality makes him unrighteous.

The body of man was created to glorify God and be holy. The soul(mind) of man was created to love God and his commandments. The spirit of man(heart) was created to worship God.

God instructs man to flee from sexual sin because he hates it. If we love what God hates that means we hate God.

There is no way we can hate what God hates and love what he loves if we do not submit ourselves, the Body, Soul and Spirit, to him.

How can we submit ourselves to God?

1. By using our spirit to believe in him. Accepting Jesus as God is surrendering the spirit to him.

2. Confessing our sins to Jesus with our mouth and asking for his mercy. and forsaking them. Confessing with our mouth also that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour and his blood was shed for our sins we are surrendering the body.

3. By filling our minds with his Word from the Holy Bible we are surrendering the mind to him.

4. By praying for the Holy Spirit to fill us- Spirit, Soul and Body so that we are always Zealous and passionate about about Jesus and his lifestyle.

Further more, when we stop looking for love where it doesn't exist and start looking for it in God who is love himself we have two things:

1. Righteousness.
2. Peace.

These are the two greatest gifts that man needs and they are only found in the Christ never in Sin and relationships.

Submit yourself to Christ Now!

Religion / Words!!! by Nwachiizu(m): 5:10pm On Apr 19, 2018
Because it seems all men have failed God in some way we are not sure how God will judge on the last day. To shy away from the feeling of a harsh eternal doom for all sinners we embrace the gospel of grace. The thoughts of being judged by God and the eternal torments that follow is being submerged by all means.

I discovered an unsuspecting area of our lives that we often overlook that has great magnitude in God's eyes and determines how we are weighed by God. Our words!

Our words have the potency to make us pure or defile us. The Bible says we are defiled by what we say. If a man has no faults in words he is perfect. James. 3:2. For this to be stated explicitly in the Bible It means God is attentive to how we use words and will judge us on that on the last day. Matt. 12:37.

Our words are more powerful than we think, even more powerful that our thoughts. Words have the ability to create and to destroy. God spoke the earth into existence through words. Words have the potency to bless and curse. God in delivering the world used His Word. John. 1:14. This spells out vividly the potency of words as it appears in the eyes of God. Words have life-forming and taking abilities. James. 3:1-13.

On the last day I presume that it is the way we used words in our lifetime that stands as an everlasting monument before God. What motives were behind them? Did we ever bother to consider their effect on people? The Bible instructs that we make our words seasoning and full of grace always Col. 4:6. Note that there are no empty words. All our words live forever.

For God had to try his own words and purified them seven times before he spoke them we should be sure he will not permit that we be thoughtless with our use of words. Ps.12:6.

I am convinced that the consistent use of pure words will in time purify the thoughts because thoughts over time align with the words we say.

We therefore constantly need to seek God's help to cultivate the habit of thoughtfully using our words to his glory and the betterment of others.
Nairaland / General / My New Year Letter To You! by Nwachiizu(m): 11:53pm On Dec 31, 2017
Before today our forefathers lived longer, healthier and happier lives even though they did not have all the good things life presents today. This was not because they ate natural unprocessed foods as many people wrongly think. The reason is because they had less anxieties in their lives as common with us today.
The effect of modern day civilisation on our mental, emotional and spiritual lives is truly alarming. The impact of our mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing on us cannot be over emphasized and renowned doctors have stressed that more people fall ill due to psychological stress acquired from their day-to-day activities.
We are living today in a dynamic world moving at such a speed that is overwhelming. Men everywhere are trying to catch up with the speed and an inevitable psycological stress is created if success is not in view.
In the face of growing commercialism and advances in technology, everyone wants to have more and more than the other man. Contentment is now old fashion. People are under the pressure to be rich and important. The love of many have waxed cold as the Bible rightly says about this time.
What is the effect on the life of the person that allows the craze to catch up on him? He losses vital energy that should sustain him in good health and psycological balance. He becomes vulnerable to sicknesses, untimely death and his spiritual life becomes sick as well. Many health challenges today are not because of what we eat but what is eating us.
So what is the solution to this 21st century crisis? The answers are found only in the pages of the oldest book of wisdom ever written, The Bible, in prayer and communion with God the creator of the universe.
We must slow down ourselves from time to time. Withdraw from the business and noise of each day to a quiet place and access the true essence of our being. We must learn to take regular occassions to be still and allow God to fill our consciousness through study of the Bible, meditation and prayer. If we keep drifting with events we will be sabotaging ourselves. We will keep acquiring and not releasing emotional stress built up. Our immune system defense mechanism which under performs under psycological stress leaves us vulnerable to ill health that shows up later in life.
Our forefathers in their days had less worries and anxieties. They lived in contentment and had good and clear spiritual ideals that governed their lives. Even though many of them were not born-again they had a strong touch with nature and God that nourished their minds.
Make a commitment in 2018 not to allow yourself to be driven by the uncontrollable speed of this ever evolving world.
Resolve to get closer to God and the true essence of your life on earth. For in doing this only lies true fulfillment, health and lenght of days!

Happy New Year!

Religion / Merry Christmas!!! by Nwachiizu(m): 9:46pm On Dec 26, 2017
One of the greatest inventors of all time, Thomas, A Edison, the inventor of the light bulb was such a rare personality that patented a new invention almost every week throughout his life time. He had only three months of formal education, left school because his teachers concluded he was incapable of learning, also a sufferer of partial deafness from age 13 after an accident in his laboratory. Records have it that he had 2,500 notebooks written of his experiments and researches and 1,100 inventions to his credit, the highest ever in world history.

With his outstanding and prolific results, most people during his days accused him of getting powers from a mystical source. His reply to them was; "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". He was known to work 20 hours everyday- reading, experimenting, and researching and in his late 70s reduced his working hours to 16. He had a bed in his library for naps. The total worth of his inventions is estimated at 25 billion US dollars.

His story and many others like him makes me conclude that without hardwork no matter how wise you may be success will never come. Hardwork is the essential ingredient of success and that has not changed. The Bible states that Faith without work is dead! Success in spiritual life also requires hardwork. No matter how much we know or revelations we have nothing works until we do.

I have also come to realise why the Bible says without faith it is impossible to please God. It's because righteousness requires work if faith must work. Without work faith is dead. Therefore, if we are not living right as christians it simply means we are too lazy to put the flesh in subjection. We don't blame the devil for our unrighteousness.

We must prepare for hardwork if we must make heaven. Inspiration and spiritual insights will contribute only 1% to our spiritual life 99% is contributed by perspiration (hardwork).

No excuses on that Day!

Compliments!
Crime / Re: Policeman Breaks Electricity Worker’s Leg For Disconnecting Ex-ig’s House by Nwachiizu(m): 5:47am On Oct 29, 2017
Nothing justifies breaking someone's leg performing his legal duty. If your bill is high report to the Disco servicing you or NERC (National Electricity Regulatory Commission). Billing is done by a NERC approved billing methodology plus the fact that Discos purchase the energy from TCN (Transmission Company of Nigeria) and will sell at a price to be able to pay and also make some profit. As it stands now Discos can't even pay for all the energy they imported from TCN. They are owing billions of Naira because most customers don't pay their bills plus the energy thefts(tapping) rampart among many customers. The situation is currently bad and government is working hard along with the private investors to make things better. grin
Nairaland / General / Why it is dangerous to use your Cell phones/Electronic Devices while charging. by Nwachiizu(m): 12:34am On Oct 19, 2017
From my knowledge about electricity I have found out that it is totally unsafe to use Cell phones/ electronic devices while they are plugged to power for charging. This is because: -

1. Cell phone chargers nowadays have only two plugs(Live and Neutral) connection to the power source instead of three plugs (Live, Neutral and Earth). The earth is meant to protect the cell phone device and any person in contact with it in cases of power surge. So what it means is if you are charging your phone with a charger that has no earth connection plug and a power surge occurs, current can flow through your device into your body to the earth using your body as the earth connection to complete the circuit. Only in rare cases will any person survive such a shock.

2. If short-circuit occurs your device becomes energized. Even if your device has a complete plastic insulation case it is not earthed against inductive current. Hence your body will create the earth connection required to send the induced current to earth if you are in contact with the device. The battery alone cannot produce such induction.

Do not use your device when pluged. Life has no duplicate.

FORGIVENESS.

Forgiveness is a very notable area in the life of any child of God. If we harbour hurts from the past in the heart and refuse to forgive people it hinders our progress in life. If unforgiveness can hinder our prayers (Mark 11:25) then it will hinder us from succeeding too. The harm of living in unforgiveness is so unbearable to the man that harbours it. So, it is important to forgive because of the troubles it frees us from.

Understand that you forgive for yourself not to change the person that hurt you. Unforgiveness is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die. If you don't forgive you will not be able to concentrate or focus on the present. If you remain attached to yesterday and don't release it from you it hinders the future from happening. Remember, you cannot change your yesterdays but you can change your tomorrows.

Imagine Jesus Christ not forgiving those that crucified him before dying on the cross at Calvary. Unforgiveness would have marred the success of what he came to the world for. His body would have remained in the grave, the Holy Spirit won't have come to the earth and the purpose of God for us would never be realised. It is important to remember this truth:
"All people (including you) are always doing the best they can to meet their basic needs with the current awareness, knowledge, skills and tools that they have at the time. If they could have done better, they would have done better. As they develop more awareness of how their behaviour affects others, as they learn more effective and less harmful ways to meet their needs, they will behave in less harmful ways". Jack Canfield.

The world is waiting for our manifestation. Let us forgive others of the demands we placed on them they were unable to meet and also forgive ourselves too so that we can be free to launch into our God-ordained destiny. There are people we are in the world to affect positively. Forgive now to start moving ahead in your purpose on earth.

The word forgive really means to "give it up for yourself".

Remain Blessed and Happy New Month!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths. Prov. 3:5-6.

Most times we may have a dream of what we want to do or achieve in life but not certain how we may go about it. One thing we should understand is-We don't neccessarily have to know how to go about achieving the whole outcome before we proceed. Just like Martin Luther said "Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step". As you take action towards your dream trusting God, the paths will gradually unfold. You then pay attention to feedbacks and make neccessay adjustments as you keep moving. The more you move the more you learn and the better you become. What you become in the process gives you that quality that increases the chances of making your dream a reality. We often times sabotage our dream by waiting for the perfect moment to take action. There is however no perfect moment to do anything. Just start. Learn from your mistakes, take corrections Keep moving trusting God in every step as the paths to your dreams gradually unfolds.

Remain Blessed!

Religion / Spiritual Quality Control by Nwachiizu(m): 4:33pm On Jun 25, 2017
Put it in your own words. Believers need to constantly carry out what I term Spiritual Quality Control. We need to be sure that the quality of what we received at the foot of the cross in salvation is still being maintained and improved on not diluted by the world system. If we had the new birth(salvation) experience and baptism of the Holy Spirit we will understand what this really means. This quality control and continual improvements is as important to God as the product a manufacturer delivers to it's consumers/customers are to the manufacturer.
A manufacturer wants to command good market share and once he holds it will not want to let go of it. For this reason, within his production team he will set up a well equipped quality control department. What this department will do is to maintain the high quality standards of the company's product and alert immediately of any deviations because deviations will be catastrophical to the company's reputation and growth. The manufacturer understands that in the face of fierce competition, competitors are looking for every means to put him out of business and will not hesitate to use any inconsistencies in his product quality standards against him. His competitors will not delay in diverting all his customers if inconsistencies or lack improvements are detected in his product quality. This is the case with the Devil. He is out to pollute God's products (believers) so that he may ruin the business of God on earth and lead many souls along with him to hell.
Believers are God's workmanship(products) perfectly crafted in Christ Jesus for his works on earth. God created us with a very high quality not even angels who worship before him all day are given the kind of attention He put on us. He sent his Son to die on the cross so we might have his quality life freely given to us. This was the life we received at salvation when we accepted Jesus. Therefore, we shouldn't marvel at the devil's special interest in us.The Devil understands what we are by quality and the impart we can cause on earth. He is looking for every opportunity to contaminate us with sin and hinder as many people as he can from receiving Christ. He knows that inconsistencies and lack of improvements in our spiritual life will make us irrelevant in soul winning.
In order to attack God's purpose the Devil targets His products. He targetted one third of God's angels when he was cast out of heaven and took them along with him. His targets now are believers the custodians of the Spirit of Grace. By his attacks he aims to hinder multitudes from receiving Christ so that when he is cast to hell many will in thesame manner go down with him.
God's work in saving lives in the world depends on the consistently high quality of his products(believers). Because we are not lifeless products he has equipped us with all we will need, as the quality control team of a manufacturer are equipped, to keep our spiritual quality standards always high Eph. 6, Gal. 5:22. He will not be responsible for our failure. Rather if we fail in maintaining our quality He suffers loss and His work on earth in saving men will be unproductive.
In order to maintain high quality spiritual life great men of faith have applied spiritual principles. St. Paul puts his in this way" I die daily" 1 Cor. 15:31 meaning he offers his life over to God everyday consistently Rom. 12:1-2. Timothy was constantly building is Word bank. 2Tim. 3:15-17. Jude applied constant prayer. Jude 20. Peter applied sobriety and spiritual vigilance. 1Pet. 5:8. Revelations puts forth this principle-"Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent... Rev. 3:3a".
The 21st century effect of lack of Spiritual Quality Control is converts in churches with no conviction for their sins. The Holy Spirit is absent in our preachers. We see a huge number of people claiming to have accepted Christ without repentance and baptism of the Holy Ghost. These are half-hearted converts unfit for the kingdom work who only run to answer alter calls because they heard that they need God to become successful but if success doesn't come they fall back.
God is more interested in our quality than our quantity. Jesus testifies that the hosts of heaven rejoice over one sinner that turns genuinely to God Luke. 15:10. This shows that quality is more than quantity. When one sinner genuinely turns to God it means the world to heaven than when one million sinners turn to God without genuine repentance. They only turn their faces to God but are still being pulled into hell from behind by the Devil.
Spiritual Quality Control is proven by the impart of only the twelve apostles of Jesus two thousand years back still being felt all over the world today. They were men with genuine commitment and consecration. They inspired men of their days to live righteously for God because they maintained that quality in their own lives and are still changing men today.
It is time for us to wake up from our Spiritual drowsiness and counterfeit spirituality and serve our Father genuinely. Let's abandon all our clamoring for postion and titles. Instead of using the Gospel to please our sinful self let's truly seek God in holiness and true righteousness in the face of this dark world.
May we receive in our generation the Holy Ghost baptism once again, ability and grace to maintain our Spiritual Quality to be productive in Kingdom work.
Amen.

so many Christians are against and condemn the consumption of alcohol... most Christians don't know that Jesus actually drank alcohol and was even referred to as a "drunkard". He said so Himself in the passages Matthew 11:18-19 and Luke 7:33-34

Matthew 11:18-19.... 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”

Luke 7:33-34... 33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’

we have to be Christlike

If the scripture above doesn't mean that John the baptist never ate food then why twist it with your carnal understanding to suit your drinking lifestyle.
Did John the baptist ever eat or not? Please explain that line too Mr Drinker grin

Religion / Why Meekness? by Nwachiizu(m): 11:13am On Jun 24, 2017
Meekness is a very strong virtue in a Christian's life. It is very important to God that all his children be meek. We erronously attach a negative meaning to meekness substituting it for weakness. Jesus Christ was meek Matt. 11:29 and He commands us to take thesame yoke of meekness.

We are by nature not willing to submit to God's will. The greeks used the word meek to describe animals being tamed to do what their master wants. In other words such animals did not lose their strength but have now learnt to control the instinct that prevents them from doing what their master wants.

Jesus was meek because He accepted the will of God to suffer and die for the sins of the world. He wants us to have thesame heart. The kind of heart that accepts God's will even when all our natural inclination and calculations do not agree with it.

Meekness is allowing ourselves to be tamed by God. Jesus says we should take up his yoke describing that by nature we will not follow his way. Yokes are used to tame animals. Unlike animals, however ,the yoke will not be forced on us. We either decide to take the yoke, not take the yoke or remove the yoke from our neck at any given time.

Can we decide to live like Jesus today? Taking up God's yoke all the time in all situations and circumstances every moment of the day?

A meek person is often seen as a weak person. He is not weak but has submitted his strength to be always under God's control.

Some Biblical examples of meekness are:

- Jesus: He accepted suffering and death for the sins of man.
- Moses: He chose to suffer with the Isrealites in the wilderness than enjoy the pleasures of Egypt.
- David: He did not have a heart of revenge against his master Saul who sought every means to kill him though he had the power to revenge.
- Abraham: He obeyed God all the time whether it was pleasant to him or not.

Matt. 5:5. Jesus says the meek are blessed and shall inherit the earth. Yes. I have no doubt that all these men are now in heaven after living a fulfilled life on earth.

*FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Will you rather be strong or submit your strength to God's control?*

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

From the data below which enlisted all religion and estimated number of adherents, it is evident Christianity is the MANY the bible is talking about while Rastafarianism is the FEW

The broad or narrow way has nothing to do with your statistics attending church or not my friend. It simply means the commitment of living a holy life. God is not interested in quantity but in quality. You have just thought like a man but man's thought are not God's and his ways are not our ways.

Working at Shell might end up not being as rosy as many think. I read the clause that says after 2-5 years of coming in as graduate trainee you become an Independent Shell Contractor. I think that means you only receive salaries and benefits packages for 2-5 years. Then you later become a contractor under shell where you no longer receive salaries but paid only when you have a contract assignment. In the long run the politics involved in securing a contract will be high. I trust Nigeria for that. Then no retirement packages. You just end up being used and dumped.

Please let's spread our tentacles for other opportunities cos I believe there are many companies out there far better than Shell in the long run.

You can also think of starting a business. May end up the best option afterall.

Religion / The Potency Of Words by Nwachiizu(m): 9:51pm On Jun 04, 2017
So many of us are not certain how God will judge the world in the end. It seems all men have failed God in some very disapponting ways and many are unable to lift themselves from their moral vulnerability. To shy away from the feeling of a harsh eternal doom for all sinners people now embrace the gospel of grace. The thoughts of being judged guilty by God with the eternal torments that follow is now submerged by always thinking of the Grace that covereth our sins. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Though we work hard to be upright in heart we find ourselves sometimes falling. Never resolving to stay down and defeated we rise back up again. This process continues through our pilgrimage then we start thinking of what else to do and better ways to apply to live a completely sinless life.

Not withstanding, I discovered a strong area in our lives that we often overlook which has the greatest magnitude in God's eyes and determines how we are weighed to know how upright we are. Our words!

Our words have all the potency to make us pure. The Bible says we are defiled by what we say. If a man has no faults in words he is perfect. James. 3:2. For this to be stated explicitly in the Bible It means God is attentive to how we use words and will judge us based on that on the last day. Matt. 12:37.

Our words are more powerful than anything in the world, more powerful that our thoughts. Words have the ability to create and to destroy. God spoke the earth into existence through words. Words have the potency to bless and curse. God in delivering the world from Satan used His Word. Jesus the saviour of the world is the Word of God made flesh. John. 1:14. This spells out vividly the potency of words as it appears in the eyes of God. Words have life-forming and taking abilities. James. 3:1-13.

On the last day it is the way we used words in our lifetime that stands as an everlasting monument before God. The words that we have spoken will judge us. What motives were behind them? Did we ever bother to consider their effects on people? The Bible injuncts that we make our words seasoning and full of grace always Col. 4:6. Note that there are no empty words. All our words will stand to judge us.

If God had to try his own words and purified it seven times before he spoke them to us we should be sure he will hold us by our words. Ps. 12:6.

Have you been using words carelessly? Know it today that your words have the potency to either save or destroy you. Rom. 10:9-10.

Ask God to help you apply your heart to this. To help you cultivate the habbit of thoughtfully using your word to his glory.

*WITH PURE WORDS CONSISTENTLY APPLIED OUR THOUGHTS WILL ALSO ALLIGN THEMSELVE TO THE WORDS WE SPEAK AND GOD WILL BE GLORIFIED IN US BOTH IN TIME AND ETERNITY.*

Family / Getting Married? by Nwachiizu(m): 8:44pm On May 28, 2017
For a successful marriage there are basic things one should learn before signing up for the contract.
Marriage is the greatest institution on earth. It can either determine success or failure in fulfilment of destiny. Also God intends to use the medium of marriage to bring offsprings into the world that will fulfil his purposes.
It is no longer news today that more marriages are failing to meet up to God's expectations. Therefore, it is paramount that the right people be joined, armed with the right tools needed to accomplish God's purpose in their union.
When the right people are joined the first step to raising a Godly home is achieved. However, the right persons must also do the right things. If they don't understand how to manage their relationship effectively they will end up not fulfilling God's purpose in their marriage. They may truly love eachother but that alone will not guarantee a great marriage.
There are five things I have discovered a lot of couples lack that are basic for a fulfiled marriage. Most couples focus only on the material things leaving aside the things that matter most.
Before getting married arm yourself with these facts:
1. You and your partner must be born again.
2. You and your partner must have balanced spiritual lives. No backslidings. No secret sins.
3. You and your partner must understand the differences in the psychology of male and female.
4. You and your partner must understand the different personality traits(temperaments) and where you belong in oder to understand, accommodate and support eachother.
5. You and your partner must understand parenting/psychological changes that occur in children from chilhood, through adolescence to adulthood.

Armed with these few basics on which other things can be built on together with the Grace and providence of God, I believe every marriage on earth will be peaceful as well as fulfil God's purposes on earth.

The DC is not like AC where you'll still be invited for an interview if you're successful. All the interviews will be done on that day. So my opinion;
1. The dress code shouldn't be casual business wear even jeans for that matter.
2. The address on the email sent should be their full and complete formal address not just Oregun. Not everyone lives in lagos. So Unilever will prefer to use
full address to clarify where Oregun is in Lagos.
3. The email should also include a pnone number you can call in case you have any complains.
Please if this DC calls/invitations end up as I suspect some nairalanders here will face some disciplinary actions o!
