Romance / Re: I Beat My Girl Today by nwanioma(f): 3:53pm On Mar 06, 2012
@ojeycombo why didn't you just talk with her? and who sends those kind of messages if you haven't even made a pass at her before?

~Killz~:

On a serious note, she would have realized her error, if you had not beaten her. Just pick up the smashed phone, and politely ask her to get out of your house, and out of your life. . . Now you beat her, and now you are apologizing and she'll accept, you'll be back together, and she'll repeat the action, and you'll beat her again! Save yourself the stress, walk away from a seemingly disrespectful, abusive and violent relationship.

Because she threw your phone on the floor? I don't think relationships work like that oh, anyways maybe the guy was tired already too!

Most of the responses here funnily shows ignorance on rampage!
Now, let me try and explain some basic things about the CBN's Cash-light policy and how it affects the Church, and everybody else.

*Owing to the huge cost of cash handling by Deposit Money Banks in the country,
CBN decided to drive people towards alternative eChannels to save the huge cost.
*Secondly, the current structure in place makes it possible for politicians to withdraw like a billion bucks
from a bank, share it into 100mil cash to 10 people and everybody disappears without a trace
*Knowing that Nigerians will naturally not comply with the policy with ease, going by our ingrained
cash and carry mentality she decided to have a max cash transaction limits for both private and corporate accounts
*A private/individual account can only do a max cumulative cash transaction of 150k,
anything on top of that, the bank will charge you 100bucks per thousand.
*A corporate account can only do a max cash transaction of 1mil, anything on top of
that, you will be charged 200bucks per thousand.
*The policy will not debar you from overshooting the limit, but the charges will, especially
if the money is actually well earned and not a loot
*Imagine a church, as a corporate org., going to pay in 2mil cash to the bank in a day, while
1mil will go in freely, the next 1mil will be surcharged 200bucks/thousand, amounting to 400k,
then add another 5% of the 400k as VAT, that makes 500k charges in all.

Now, for people talking about installing ATMs inside the church, that's even the most counter productive measure,
in fact, i expect the ones that have it in their premises before now to start calling for decommissioning soon,
because the idea is to not handle cash at all, but to allow all funds go into the account electronically.
I can tell you as a matter of fact, that church managements have been calling banks for presentations to
adopt the various cashless eChannels; PoS terminals, web payment, and the soon coming mobile
money and NFC (Near field communications) transactions.
Also, deployment of PoS terminals too has been going on in some churches as we write!

What churches can do in the mean time, once the charges start applying by this month end in Lagos,
is to encourage members to use cheques for at least all payments up to 5k, which will include Tithes,
building vows, special seeds and the rest of givings.
Then normal offerings which are usually lesser in value can be collected in cash and deposited to the bank.

Well explained!

@poster
One well placed slap would have done the trick, Your girlfriend would learn her lesson, and also you would have exercised some restraint! By the way if you want her back you can still get her back, but your better off getting some one less violent. I haff chop slap before from my boyfriend ex, and i did not do anything as far as smashing his phone, yet i still chop slap. I don't think it changed me. As i would always say my mind, so its better if you are not compatible with someone you just let them be.

stagger:

OP,

Did the churches tell you they cannot open their own banks like the Vatican?

Who made you a financial consultant? This is how some of you set yourself up for spiritual slaps by poking your nose into what does not concern you.

and so if the churches opened their own banks they would not be subject to the cbn rule? as for the slap as long as it stays spiritual and doesn't turn physical i don't think also that you should be poking yoir nose as well. thanks for your concern.

the issue is that these 100, 200, 500, 1000 cash offerings that might not seem much build up. and spliting it is not really an option as most churches have daily service!

^^^ cheesy cheesy cheesy

If they don't mind paying the 10% it simply means that they would have to encourage their customers members to donate more, as am sure they wouldn't want to reduce their cash inflow.

Can't stop laughing at POS being passed round in church!! grin

How Would Churches Cope With This Our New Cashless Society?

On Sunday during offertory while in church, I started wondering as I gave my own offering.

How would churches cope with the whole cashless Nigeria ? It is obvious that most churches collect over N150,000 on a daily basis. Would they resort to having vaults in the premises or start passing round POS machines instead of the traditional baskets? Or perhaps they wouldn't mind paying what ever the CBN directs as its not their own money! Fellow Nairalands which way do you think churches would go?

poster,

Treat him as you would treat your own brother. If it were your brother would u clean up after him?

Ilekokonit:

You live abroad where food is very cheap and your brother in law wanting more than one piece of meat is an issue to you ?? Are you sure you did not make part of this story up Who quarrels about pieces of meat nowadays ?? Who eats one piece of meat nowadays ??

This your talk is plain daft! people that are living in an apartment with only on bathroom, and you feel that meat can't be their problem. You do not know their living condition so i do not think that should be the bases of any judgment.
N.B I still eat one piece of meat!
