Business / Pls What Is Safe Token OTP Charge?? by nwanioma(f): 11:42am On Oct 10, 2016
It Saddens me greatly when ever i get these silly alerts on my phone. I never knew of this SAFE TOKEN OTP CHARGE, until today, i wonder why the banks feel they can debit accounts anyhow.

This charge also confuses me because every single transaction i make with the safe token i am charged, between 100-200NGN, the SMS alerts i receive i am also charge, to register for the safe token too i was charged, so is it a different company providing this safe token service different from interswitch who always charges for every transaction or is it the bank? Who exactly am i paying to i would really like to know. The other day i was debited for an international transaction i made over 1year ago, how am i supposed to recall if this transaction had not be previously charged or the exact service i was paying for, but the bank feels so free to make these deductions from your account.

I need to know if there is any consumer protection agency i can report this to, i feel it is just a rip off, and is unfair as well

Document the whole incident and keep with an unconnected party. if your boss askes to meet with you, do so and simply tell him you have left instructions in the event anything happens to you, that the story be publicized.

Sounds like a neat nollywood script sha.

Computers / Re: Advice Needed: Best Value For Money Laptop by nwanioma(f): 3:17pm On Mar 03, 2015

You can get a touchscreen laptop for that price, but you are sacrificing significant performance. Imagine a dual core 1Ghz processor, or 1 or 2 GB of RAM. That's what you'd be getting in a touchscreen at that price. And most likely a mini, with a small keyboard.

/inspiron-core-i3-touchscreen-1401785/

Still a Dell, and I'm not sure about that warranty. They have authorized distributors in Lagos if that means anything. Appears to be full-sized though. And the specs are okay for that price, although it's 110k.

/asus-vivobook-f200la-ct013h-core-i3-4gb-500gb-hdd-11-6-inch-windows-8-touchscreen-laptop-1100626/

Konga says this one comes with a 2 year warranty, but ASUS doesn't have domestic offices, so the warranty will probably be handled by Konga themselves. It's a mini though.

EDIT: The links aren't showing properly. There is meant to be www.konga.c om in front of the slashes. Don't know why it's disappearing. Just bear with me and pop it in front of the links I put.

Thanks. I think its a NL thing not to show the links full for "free advertising". Thanks on the information about the trade off.

Check out this Dell for 104k.

www./dell-inspiron-14z-ultrabook-intel-core-i31.8ghz-6gb-ram-500gb32gb-ssd-14-inch-windows-8-red-colour-44125.html

The specs get a thumbs up from me.

You could get this HP for under a 100 too.

www./hp-250-g3-intel-core-i3-1.7ghz-4gb-500gb-windows-8.1-64bit-notebook-black-182709.html

Basically though, I prefer the Dell. An SSD for that price is a snatch. 6GB of RAM as well, although they both have i3 processors.

Thanks i think i prefer the HP sha, because of the full qwert keyboard. Does dell have warranty here in Nigeria? But can my budget get me any touchscreen laptop? smiley

Dear Techies,

Please i am in the market for a new laptop. My uses include viewing and editing pictures, word processing, am not so into gaming so no need for really heavy graphics. I would like to know the best value i could get for my money generally, I have a budget of abt 100K. I would appreciate any help I can get to point me in the right direction. Might be willing to pay a little more than the 100k. Thanks

Or if you recently bought a laptop n its serving you really well pls lemme know the name and price.

Why pay 17k when you can request for it manually at 2k?

Does the 2k include your transportation cost to the school? or do you make the manual request via the internet too?

The continued relaying of d automated mail you have been getting simply means they have not digitized and pushed your transcript for onward delivery. My advice is call them with your dilemma. They'll ask you to send your name, Mat no and year of graduation via sms. Only then will d process begin #talkingfromexperience

Thanks, call who exactly?

Awww...sorry for your experience.

I just ordered for an electronic transcript online to be sent from my school (OAU) to the overseas. It costs only #17, 800. And the company in charge (EXT-NG) has done well. ..at least, my payment has been confirmed and my application made.

But that was after I contacted them via phone call that I had paid through direct bank deposit and I'm yet to get payment confirmation in my account! !!

I wonder when people will start getting the worth of their money in this country.

All is well dear.

Imagine. My payment was confirmed and i got their automated email, i get that like every week since i made the request. No real response as to if they have a problem with my details or not. Its just sad though. Thanks for sharing. i know i am not alone.
Education / What Is Your Experience With UNN Itranscript Portal? by nwanioma(f): 2:19pm On Jan 21, 2015
I made a request online for a transcript since 4th of Dec 2014, the promise on the site was 2weeks. I have been waiting since then. I keep receiving system generated mails, of how my request is still processing. I have sent mails to both the company that powers the site "seamfix" and also the "contact us" details on the site. Asides from the auto respond that i usually receive nothing else.

This request costs N15,000 and that is because i requested the transcript be sent to an address in Nigeria. Outside the country it cost N35,000. with these huge sums of monies collected why can't Nigerian companies just get their acts together and get things done right. A very nice idea but with zero execution. I am really scared for this country. If the younger generation is not even interested in doing thing right, wherein exactly lies our hope.

Please tell how long it took u to get your own transcript, and what your own experience getting it.

Education / Re: Crisis In UNN Between Post Graduate And Under Graduate Students Today(photos) by nwanioma(f): 10:52am On Jul 21, 2014
I think UNN has fallen from what ever standard it used to have, i was there some months back and the entire space just felt cramped up with buildings. ugly buildings. I wonder if the urban planning dept even has a contribution or say to this. As for the students fighting, i find it hard to comprehend why a postgrad student would beat up and undergrad, its not like secondary school or something.. Anyway am glad am out. n i never want to go back there.
