Travel / Re: Have You Ever Had Your Item(s) Stolen On Arik Air Before? by nwanioma(f): 11:18am On Jun 27, 2012
Spirit of Okija: This is a question of integrity amongst Nigerians and humans in general..

My story isnt about Arik or Airlines but about Silverbird Cinema (Port-Harcourt)..
The Cinema attendants have found a new way to enrich themselves off of other peoples misplaced properties.. I guess its a case of 'Finders Keepers, loosers weepers'.. Well heres how my experience goes..

My fiance and I went to see the Avengers movie and actually enjoyed the movie.. After the movie, we normally like to stay back and play a little kissy-smoochie.. Anyways, while we were sitted there, the hall had emptied out and the credits were still rolling.. Next thing we saw were two guys armed with torchlights run into the hall.. (remember that the lights were still out in the hall) and started a row by row sweep for valuables that may have been left behind by Cinema goers.. Immediately I saw this, I tapped my partner and we sat still until there sweep got to where we were sitted. Now the way they were in a hurry to do the sweep showed that they were intent on keeping their finds as it appeared like a race of 'first find, first keep'.. Anyways, when they saw us, they were shocked... So we made our way out of the cinema and into the general hall.. Just before we left, I decided to buy some chocolates from the popcorn stand.. While there I placed my Blackberry phone on the counter to fetch my wallet from my pocket.. I paid, walked out and went straight into my car.. I had started my engines and needed my phone to play some music when I realized that I had left it on the counter were I bought the popcorn.. IMMEDIATELY, I made a run for it back into the cinema. As i approached the counter, I had already spotted my phone still there.. NEXT THING, I saw this attendant (in Silverbird uniform) walk briskly past my eye line with my phone and my phone disappeared from the counter... I was like DARN!!!!!!!! That was hoodini style movement.. He didnt even miss a beat or hesitate.. SO I slowed down and followed him.. As soon as I saw him heading for the toilet, I called him and said he should please give me my phone.. The shocking part was that he denied having it.. I just pulled out my other phone and dialled the number and it rang in his pocket.. He just handed it to me with a half-baked apology and walked away..

NO PUNCH??

Romance / Re: Help! She Is Too Ugly For My Liking by nwanioma(f): 3:20pm On Jun 25, 2012
Ugliness goes away with time! by the time u spend enough time with her and look closely and deeper she'll suddenly start looking not so bad, and then it'll become kinda cute. So if you like this girl this much you should just get to meet her in person and spend more time with her.
Romance / Re: Question: Why Do Guys Choose Sports Over Their Partners? by nwanioma(f): 11:24am On Jun 22, 2012

Romance / Re: You Know She Is The One... by nwanioma(f): 2:28pm On Jun 13, 2012
omega25red:
your number one is flawed because eventually the honeymoon phase will pass and you will think of ways to escape this woman who wont leave you alone
your number two is flawed because during the honeymoon phase it seems like you can talk forever because you are still getting to know each other. Eventually the stories start to repeat
your number three is flawed because the only thing she needs to do is to support you and not make you feel rich

you know she is the one when you fight and it seems like you are going to end it but you both figure out how to solve the issue and think of ways not to repeat the problem
you know she is the one when you are sick and she drops all she is doing to check on your welfare
you know she is the one when even after you lost your job she reminds you that she has your back and continues to Nag and encourage you to pick yourself up and get back in the game
you know she is the one when you are having 3ex and you come quick and you both laugh and say wow that was great instead of her being mad and trying to embarass you
you know she is the one when she makes an attempt to pay for dinner even if she knows that you are paying
you know she is the one when she fights with you because you dont want to spend time with her family

these are just a few

All on point xcept for number4, if i am committing a sin, it should at least be fun, and he would probably make a habit of it! grin

Education / Re: What Influenced Your Choice Of Course In School? by nwanioma(f): 11:52am On Jun 12, 2012
I never had anything particular in mind that I wanted to study, I wrote Jamb 3times(I didn't fail all 3 oh one was cancelled) and filled 6 different courses. I knew I could probably do any course I set my mind to, so for me I simply wanted something that sounded really nice and professional. I wanted to put medicine once and my brother in med school den told me engr was easier as i didn't have to read as much(true)! I ended in the University of Nigeria with Electronics Engr. nice enough. Am basically indifferent towards it now, given another opportunity i would probably do something different, not because i hate what i have done but just to experience something different!
Politics / Re: Farouk Lawan: Femi Otedola's $500K Bribe Was To Expose Him by nwanioma(f): 11:08am On Jun 12, 2012

I really don't know why the poster singled out Nigerians! It happens every where else, and what happens when there is nothing you can do about a situation? making a video or taking pictures might just be the only thing you could possibly do, both for record purposes and also as evidence!
Religion / Re: Is Nigeria Morally Better Than U.S? by nwanioma(f): 2:39pm On Jun 11, 2012
logicboy:

This guy, you are funny. This is what happens in the villages. I go to Naija very often.

Is it not in the village where one woman will have 10 children or one man will have 3 wives?

Is his American counterpart who has had 3 divorces and 4 children from different women betta? For me we have a higher moral standard in Nigeria than the US. Why? Simply because we are backward, and as morality is something that erodes slowly, as we are backward in technology so is our morality backwards!

Fashion / Re: Are Fake Designer Wears And Accessories Fashionable? by nwanioma(f): 11:09am On Jun 01, 2012
BluStreak:

The word FAKE in today's fashion belongs to d dustbin of history. It is called Faux. It is widely accepted and some can be pricey too. I am not talking of the backyard China knockoff o. Majority of the TM, LV, H&M shirts and accessories we buy here in Naija are the faux versions. Although there are few exclusive shops that sales the real thing but you & I know how much they go for. An original H&M mens' shirt sales for between 18 & 35k based on the fabric it is made of. But you will see stores here advertising same H&M for 8k. That says it all. Doesn't mean the 8k own won't look good when worn or has a poor finishing. It's just the faux version & is patronized by all the divides. My 1 cent.

Exactly, and they are also very good copies 1st grade, except if you are a pro you wouldn't know the difference!
