The Law of Obedient Action—All the heavenly beings are in constant activity, and the Lord Jesus, in His practical lifework, has given an example for every man. God has established in the heavens the law of obedient action.[Note: The law of obedient action is worthy of careful study. Action not only advances physical health but brings us into harmony with others and with the universe.] Silent but ceaseless, the objects of His creation do their appointed work. The ocean is in constant motion. The springing grass, “which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven,” does its errand, clothing the fields with beauty. The leaves are stirred by the wind, and yet no hand is seen to touch them. The sun, moon, and stars are useful and glorious in fulfilling their appointed mission. And man, his mind and body created in God’s own similitude, must be active in order to fill his appointed place. Man is not to be idle. Idleness is sin. Inactivity a Fruitful Cause of Disease.—Inactivity is a fruitful cause of disease. Exercise quickens and equalizes the circulation of the blood, but in idleness the blood does not circulate freely, and the changes in it, so necessary to life and health, do not take place. The skin, too, becomes inactive. Impurities are not expelled as they would be if the circulation had been quickened by vigorous exercise, the skin kept in a healthy condition, and the lungs fed with plenty of pure, fresh air. This state of the system throws a double burden on the excretory organs, and disease is the result. Judicious Regulation of Exercise—Well-directed physical exercise, using the strength but not abusing it, would prove an effective remedial agent. Without Exercise, Mind Cannot Be in Working Order—For a healthy young man, stern, severe exercise is strengthening to brain, bone, and muscle. And it is an essential preparation for the difficult work of a physician. Without such exercise the mind cannot be in working order. It cannot put forth the sharp, quick action that will give scope to its powers. It becomes inactive. Such a youth will never, never become what God designed he should be. He has established so many resting places that he becomes like a stagnant pool. The atmosphere surrounding him is charged with moral miasma. Physicians often advise their patients to take an ocean voyage, to go to some mineral spring, or to visit different places for change of climate, in order to regain health, when in nine cases out of ten if they would eat temperately and take cheerful, healthful exercise, they would become well and would save time and money. Work is a blessing, not a curse. Diligent labor keeps many, young and old, from the snares of him who “finds some mischief still or idle hands to do.”Let no one be ashamed of work, for honest toil is ennobling. While the hands are engaged in the most common tasks, the mind may be filled with high and holy thoughts. Extract from the book Mind Character and Personality. Vol. 1 Chapter 14. By E. G. White. |
From my understanding, 'Chidinma' means "God is good" while 'Chidimma' means "God is good TO ME" some even bear 'ChiMdinma' meaning, "MY God is good" or 'ChiMdimma' meaning MY God is good TO ME" There is no wrong or right spelling, its only wrong when you use a variation for an individual with another variation of the name. I know most bearers are always fast to correct the caller on which particular one they bear despite that fact that the differences are slight. Tautology |

*Paul's writings and the Sabbath* Let's consider the following verses. "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks". Rom.14:5,6. "But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years." Gal. 4:9,10 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Col. 2:16,17 I believe this has been the quote that most Christians uses to defend themselves concerning worship on Sunday. My friends who worship on the first day of the week. I believe we all know that Sunday as a day of worship to Almighty God had not started then and so the argument couldn't have been whether to worship on Sabbath or Sunday. ( if you're in doubt of that we are at the era of Internet. You can browse and actually know when Sunday worship started). But even at that if Paul was referring to day of worship all of us including himself would have been guilty because when you worship on Sunday you esteem it higher than other days. But on the contrary, Paul was still referring to the ceremonial laws and ceremonial sabbaths, pointing to Christ. They Paul regarded as "shadows of things to come". These you can see clearly stated in the book of Lev. 23 from verse 4 down. These Sabbaths include: The first and last days of the feast of Unleavened bread, the Day of Pentecost, the feast of Trumpets, the Day of atonement, and the first and last days of the feast of Tabernacles ( Lev. 23: 7,8,21,24,25,27,28,35,36) All these Sabbath's were totally different from the weekly Sabbath ( Lev. 23:3) These were the ceremonies and Sabbaths that Paul was referring to. Remember that these days were public holidays in the Jewish nations and the Jews wanted the Christians to observe them and this prompted Paul to write what he wrote. |

*HERE HE IS!!! THE MAN WHO IS ALSO GOD. (JESUS CHRIST) WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT JESUS*. *Part 1* Here is the illustration and analysis A man and his son one day decided to gather ants together and carter for them. They prepared a very nice place for them and kept them there. They supplied all they needed including food, protection and everything that will make them happy. Because of the love they have for them, they instructed them not to come out from the place where they were kept lest they loose their life. This is because outside the place they were there poisons scattered around by their enemy. But the ants, having all they needed and lacking nothing disobeyed and came out from the place they were and ate the poison. These brought them to the point that they were so weak that could no longer climb back to the place where they were and they were left to die I. Their state. Guess what!! The son told the Father. I will go down and live with the ants (in their weak form) and bring them back to their normal state. Not only to show them how to live obediently in the principles given to them. But also to save them. Isn't that amazing? *That is exactly what Christ did for us* We are just like ants in the eyes of the Lord. God gave Man everything and kept us in a good place, but Man rebelled against his simple command and it brought the human race the conditions we found ourselves. *Who is Jesus unto you? Let us study more about Him* *JESUS OUR REDEEMER* The best description for Him is the one given by John the beloved. " Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" John 1:29. " And she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call him *JESUS*: for He shall save His people from their sin. Matt. 1:21 " For unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government shall upon His shoulder and His name shall be called wonderful, counsellor, the Almighty God, the everlasting Father the prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6. "For I know that my Redeemer liveth and that He shall stand at the later day upon the earth" Job 19:25. These and many more verses from the scriptures shows that Christ is out *great Redeemer*, that came to this earth to save us at the point where we couldn't save ourselves. *Why was Christ qualified and not any other person?* 1) HE IS OUR CREATOR "God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets , hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, by whom also *He made the worlds*". Heb. 1:1,2 "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in the earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities, or powers, *all things were created by Him and for Him*". Col. 1:16 " And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in *God, who created all things by Jesus Christ*". Eph. 3:9. All evidences in the Bible shows that the world was created by God through Christ. Paul called it a mystery. Christ is our creator that is one of the reasons why He was also qualified to save and redeem us because He owns us. 2) HIS EXISTENCE AS BOTH GOD AND MAN One of the most striking revelation of Christ in the Bible is His dual nature of existence as both God and Man. " In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him without Him nothing was made that was made. And the Word was made flesh and dwelth among us ( and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth". John 1:1-3,14; "Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation and took upon Him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of Men. Christ being our creator wasn't enough for Him to save us from the bondage of sin. He couldn't have saved us in His Godly nature only without become like us. He needed to be one of us as a human being to save us. Read Lev. 25:47-49; Heb. 2:14,15. For a slave to be redeemed, someone of the same family is required to do that and so therefore Christ had to become a member of the human race for Him to save us. What a great sacrifice!!! He has been in existence before been given birth here on earth. "Jesus said unto them verily verily I say unto you, before Abraham I AM" John 8:58 "And God said unto Moses I AM THAT I AM: and he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM has sent me unto you". Ex. 3:14 He is the great I AM. "I am the light of the world. I am the bread of life. I am the way, the truth, and the life." John 8:12; 6:35; 14:6. THE WHOLE BIBLE TESTIFIES ABOUT JESUS "Search ye the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life. And they are they which testify of me John 5:39". Recently I have gone through many messages circulated on social media of either someone who dies and found himself or herself in hell, coming back to meet his relatives or friends, trying to explain how 'hot' hell is, and how they can escape from it. Or someone who died and went to heaven, coming down with messages from God to the world of how beautiful heaven is and how soon Christ's coming is. In the light if all these messages, one may succumb to the idea that these messages are warning us about salvation and how to change our lives by adhering to the messages trying to raise our consciousness. But these has never been the only time people spoke and passed messages in the name of the Lord, when the Lord has not spoken. In 1 Samuel 15:11-13; the Lord told Samuel that Saul didn't perform His commandments, while Saul emphatically told Samuel boldly that he has performed Gods commandment (trying to make God a liar). Also in 1 kings 22:6; where Zedekiah and other false prophets were trying to allay the fears of people by proclaiming the assurance of victory in Ramoth- Gilead by the Lord when the Lord didn't say so. In situations of such nature regarding to the illustrations given earlier, as Christians that believe in the 'sure word of prophecy' (The Bible) what should we do? The Psalmist says "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my part" Ps. 119:105. The beloved John warned us in 1 John 4:1-3 "Beloved, belief not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. How do we test the spirits? Its obviously through the scriptures. Isaiah 8:20- To the law and the testimony if they speak not according to this 'word', it is because there is no light in them. John 17:17- Sanctify them by thy truth, thy 'word' is truth. Ps. 119:9- Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way ? By taking heed thereto to thy 'word'. *Now the big question come. What happens when someone dies?* The Bible says- All go unto one place; all are dust and all return to the dust again. Eccles 3:20. "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it. Eccles 12:7 ( see Gen. 2:7). " For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not anything, neither have they anymore a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten: also their love and their hatred and their envy is now perished; neither have they anymore a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun." Eccles 9:5,6 "Whatsoever thing your hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave wither thou goest." Vs 10 All the scriptural evidences show that man goes down to the grave when he dies. The Bible didn't say that man goes to heaven or hell or purgatory or any other place when he dies. There is no evidence of such in the Holy scriptures ( of course there shouldn't be, because if there is, it means that the Bible is contradicting itself which cannot be for God is not the author of confusion 1Cor 14:33) Peter also made it clear in his illustrations about David in Acts while explaining about Christ in Acts 2:28,34- Men and brethren let me speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. For David is not ascended into the heavens. *So when will the righteous go to heaven and the wicked to hell?* Ans. First and second resurrection. Jesus said in John 5:29- And shall come forth; they that have done good unto the resurrection of life and that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. ( see also Dan. 12:2). The first resurrection is the resurrection of life ( ie resurrection of the righteous). Paul said in 1 Thess. 4:16- for the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Arch Angel and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 1cor. 15:52- For the trumpet shall be sounded and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible. Rev. 20:5,6- But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed is he that hath part in the first resurrection on such the second death hath no power. Then the second resurrection is the resurrection of the wicked. Job 21:30- That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? They shall be brought forth to the day of wrath. ( see John 5:29; Rev 20:14,15). These all will be finally destroyed in the lake of fire which is the second death. *Then who are the persons that speak us when we go to enquire of the dead?* They are the spirit of the devils. They are the evil angels that were cast down with the devil from heaven (Rev 12:7-9; 16:14; 1cor 10:20; 2 thess. 2:9,10; Rev 13:13,14) Sometimes they do say the truth ( Read 1 Sam 28:8-19 and compare it with 1 Chronicles 10:13,14) The Bible made it clear that there are evil; the spirit of the devils working miracles as in the texts above. These devils and demons have been in existence even before Christ came. "It was by satanic aid that Pharaoh's magicians were enabled to counterfeit the work of God". GC. 553.2 Christ encountered most of them. These spirits doeth great wonders, "so that he maketh fire come down from heaven in the sight of men". Rev.13:13. They are always there to counterfeit Gods work ( Read Exodus ![]() They have deceived many people by making it so real in their appearance and then spread out heresies which will catch most of the listeners because they have not purified themselves and guarded themselves with the word of God. Matt. 4: 4,7,10; Luke 4:4,8,12; 1peter 1:22 etc. That is why Paul warned us that "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" Eph 6:10-12 The Bible also teaches of the existence of good angels ministering for the saints and children of God ( Read Heb 1:14; Matt. 18:10) It is of worthy to note that the lake of fire ( which people refers to hell or purgatory) is not in existence anywhere now. Rather this will come during the final destruction of the wicked. Rev 20:14,15. Now come to think of it; it the righteous goes to heaven after death and the wicked to hell, what then is Christ coming to do? "And behold I come quickly and my rewards is with me to give every man according as his works shall be". Rev 22:12 (see also Matt 16:27). Then which reward will He then give again? Let us be wise and think. These false doctrines has led to many deceptions in the Christian world today such as the doctrines of: Immortality of the soul, Purification in purgatory, Spiritism, Prayer for the dead. That is why many people write in an obituary "Transition to glory" God help us!!!! The Lord is telling us in Heb. 4:7- Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts. "How shall we escape if we neglect such great salvation" 2:3 "And the times of ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.!!!! *Stop being deceived by the devil and take a stand in God's truth and the Lord will give you His good reward Amen!!!* God bless you as you read and share!! |
"What is glossolalia?" Glossolalia is the transliteration of the Greek word that means to speak in tongues or languages. It comes from the words glossa (tongue) and laleo (to speak). In Christian terminology, it has come to be known as speaking in ecstatic utterances or non-intelligible language. As such, this term has often been connected with the charismatic movement. Glossolalia is sometimes confused with xenoglossia, which is the biblical “gift of tongues.” However, whereas glossolalia is babbling in a nonexistent language, xenoglossia is the ability to speak fluently a language the speaker has never learned. Additionally, whereas xenoglossia is not an innate or natural ability, studies have shown that glossolalia is a learned behavior. Research conducted by the Lutheran Medical Center demonstrates that glossolalia is readily learned by following simple instructions. Correspondingly, it was found that students could exhibit “speaking in tongues” in the absence of any indications of trance-like stupor or behaviors. Another test conducted with sixty students showed that after listening to a one- minute sample of glossolalia, 20 percent were able to imitate it precisely. After some training, 70 percent succeeded. In just about every part of the world, glossolalia can be observed. Pagan religions all over the world are obsessed with tongues. These include the Shamans in the Sudan, the Shango cult of the West Coast of Africa, the Zor cult of Ethiopia, the Voodoo cult in Haiti, and the Aborigines of South America and Australia. Murmuring or speaking gibberish that is construed to be deep mystical insight by holy men is an ancient practice. There are basically two aspects to glossolalia. First is talking or murmuring in language-like sounds. Practically everyone is able to do this; even children before they ever learn to speak can mimic real language, though unintelligibly. There is nothing extraordinary about this. The other aspect of glossolalia is ecstasy or the demonstration of trance-like elation. There is nothing unusual about this either, although it is more difficult to do intentionally than to merely utter language-like sounds. There are some Christians, especially within the Pentecostal movement, who believe there is a supernatural explanation for glossolalia similar to that described in the New Testament. They believe that the chief purpose of the gift of speaking in tongues is to manifest the Holy Spirit being poured out upon them just as on the day of Pentecost ( Acts 2), which was prophesied by Joel (Acts 2:17). Among those Christian churches who do espouse the practice of glossolalia to one degree or another, there is no uniform agreement as to its workings. For example, some are adamant that it is indeed a gift of the Holy Spirit, while others minimize its importance, saying Paul taught that the gift of “speaking in tongues” wasn’t nearly as important as the other gifts of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 13). Also, there are those wishing to avoid dividing the church on such issues by not speaking of it at all or dismissing it as a simple psychological experience. Then there are those who regard glossolalia as a deception of Satan himself. Exotic languages are heard and understood throughout the world, but existing languages are not heard or understood when spoken as “ecstatic utterances” or “tongues.” What we do hear is a profusion of hype, claims, confusion, and noise. We simply cannot declare, as at the time of the first church, that “each of us hears [understands] them in his own native language” ( Acts 2:8 NIV). Simply put, the practice of glossolalia is not the biblical gift of tongues. Paul made it clear that the chief purpose of the gift of speaking in tongues was to be a sign for those who did not believe and to spread the good news, the gospel of Christ ( 1 Corinthians 14:19, 22). |
