The roads he constructed are many and I don't have the time to upload them all here. While this is not enough for a densely urbanized town as Aba, I still won't agree that he is the worst governor in Nigeria or Abia State. He did something tangible.
|
Those saying the man is the worst governor in Nigeria are either ignorant of where Ab was before the man came in or might not have visited Aba recently. Granted, He may not have fixed everywhere in Aba, but nobody can come here and say he is the worst Governor in Nigeria when states like Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, etc. haven't done as much as he has done in a densely populated and Urbanized. And nobody can also dare say that he is the worst Governor Abia have. Of course he is not the best in SE. But he is not the worst in Nigeria. He may not be the best in SE, but he is definitely not the Worst in Nigeria(even in the South) nor the worst in Abia. I don't like him either that much as I love Umahi. But I can't in all sincerity say he is the worst in Abia or Nigeria. For Start, before Ikpeazu came in, all the roads in Aba were either muddy or not motorable, I mean ALL!. No good roads were in ABa. It was as bad as that. Ikpeazu in his first tenure did a lot of road construction. Today, some roads like Port Harcourt Road and Ngwa Road all in Aba is now wearing a new look. These are roads that people used to mock Aba before if they want to share bad and disgusting roads in Aba. Today the story is different as those roads are advancing completion and the governor has said that they wll be completed before leaving office. I am from Rivers State, but my mum is from Aba, so I know what I am saying. I am not here to praise him, but I am here to state fact! The road is opposite Tonimas Junction, Beside Becuz Fast food. So my dear, Ipkeazu might not have fixed the whole of Aba in 8 years, but truth be told, he has changed so many roads and the face of Aba today. One of the major things I'll give Ikpeazu Kudos for is the 30 years plan he did for Abia and the Enyimba Economic City. My prayer is that the new Governor do better than him and focus more on building a better Abia. Ikpeazu might not be the best, but he performed better than the current governors in Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, and most northern states (except Kano, Kaduna and Borno). Daalu. BentizilL:He performed better than your BAT as a governor. He outperforms the one your BAT put in Osun and EKiti. GO and sleep. |

I for like to taste this food but the face is scaring me. And the fact that my neighbour uses broom to make it makes me more uncomfortable. |
Obviously for governorship not presidetial. I am 100% sure they are not marching for Atiku but for PDP |
globemoney01:Yeah I saw this news a long time ago. They will finish it next year. One of Obi's Legacy |
Omanambala:Yet we have people who go out singing praises for them. THe only tangible thing Obiano did as far as I am concerned is the Airport. The ICC is not something that's very spectacular that e will indebt the state in Billions admist increase IGR and FG allocation. THis is what Chimamanda spoke about. We should be bold to call out bad leaders adn refrain from praise singing. THis is why I have a problem with IPOB. If they had used their influence to ensure credible people are elected into Office. By now, we would've been heading somewhere. |
FreeStuffsNG:To put the record straight, OYO is large, but small Anambra is more urbanized than the whole of OYO. Anambra is the second most urbanized STate in Nigeria after Lagos |
globemoney01:Reread my comment. I updated it. Then after you read. Don't bother to reply me. Just do your thing. The message is not for everyone. The wise will hear and know what to do Let me illustrate with pics so that u can understand. IGWEBUIKE

WAIT. What's the rational for give NE 10%?? Is it for causing insecurity or what? is it perpetual or temporal? If not why must NE get 10% for producing nothing and the Niger Delta States get 13% for contributing to 40-50% of the total budget financing? Who made this law and who passed it? THis better be temporal cause it's quite annoying |
globemoney01:I know people like you will struggle to get the message But don't worry I am here to help u. Anambra is developed no doubt, if you read m comment you won't be going about dragging with the Imo guy. Anambra is to SE what Lagos is to SW. But will you say Anambra's problems are 100% solved? Fine, not that's why I posted that sp that we will keep our eyes on the ball and stop this nonsense and needless comparison. Watch the video (that's if you have data) and tell the people what's wrong. If nothing is wrong, tell us too. This was this month April. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysQYgnbXFTM Another annoying thing is that our Governors don't find it necessary to employ the use of road sweepers. Please we should not be celebrating this nonsense again if not we are going to remain a laughing stock amongst others. Refer to the Kaduna road to get a proper perspective. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVEJM-HH5js So far, it is only Dave Umahi that has taken road construction serious in SE (even though I will still knock him for doing roads with open drainages in some urban areas). I wish all parts of SE will toe that part. If we do, in no distant time the Anambra and the rest, in general, will attract foreigners who will be willing to live and work there. Let's keep our eyes on the ball and forgo needless and unhelpful nonsense, sentiments. I've been following this thread for about 7 years now cause I love to see SE develop and I keep up with things. And since I've been here we've been doing this nonsense and it's eight years down the line yet Anambra and other SE states do not have an IGR that's up to N50 Billion. Don't these things bother you guys? That you will grow and give birth and your kids will go outside your region to find white-collar jobs because most of the jobs within the regions are informal? It bothers me that's why when I read u guys spend needless hours on nonsense talks I get irritated. The greatest undoing I repeat again of the Igbo People is our individualistic worldview. It has hampered our progress in a diverse Nigeria. Maybe in the past, it did help us, but now this is a new reality. We are now among more than 100 tribes around us. And the only way to move forward is together. Only fools will allow states created by Nigerian governments and non-Igbo actors to hamper our growth and progress as a united people. Today all Yorubas regard themselves stakeholders of Lagos. That's why you see them working together to promote and invest in it even though many of them are not from there. I know I am typing this in a public forum ,but seriously, we need to do better. We can't afford a directionless 8 years again. No matter who becomes president, we need to resolve to savage our only motherlad. Let's ignore Fg and behave as if they don;t exist and push for our good and let's see who can stop a united people. Thank You |
This people don't know how Rivers Detest anything APC sha. If Wike make that mistake he will join Amaechi and AKpabio quee |
0fodirinwa:The greatest undoing of the Igbos race is people that behave like you and the guy you just mentioned. Well, hopefully we will get rid of these tendencies by investing in quality education in orientation from the early childhood stage. |
Grgton:Owerri needs to do more. There are too many open gutter roads in Owerri without sidewalks in Owerri and other SE states. Let's keep our eyes on the ball and stop celebrating mediocrity. I want us young people to build a SE where Igbos and others from any where in the world would be proud to call home. It begins with us, let's eschew celebrating these politicians when they do mediocre stuff and expect praises. Or old mothers and fathers can ignorantly praise them due to the fact that they may be ignorant. But we should know better. If I had the power, I would have House of Assembly ban open gutter roads with no sidewalks in all SE states. Imagine Aba, a commercial city, yet the governor is still constructing open gutter roads with no sidewalk yet the complaint of how the gutters gets filled with dirts. Why won't it be filled with dirts?? |
Grgton:Thank God Soludo has mentioned that HE WILL DO CLOSED drains and sidewalks. My prayer is that he does not go the way of open drainages again. |
This are roads in Kaduna. Anambra is 10 times more developed than Kaduna, but bad roads sell it out. I pray Soludo intensifies the Urban renewal effort in Onitsha and Awka with good roads (closed drainage, sidewalks and bicycle lane), this will stand Anambra out. Lagos, Port Harcourt and some other states have stopped constructing roads without sidewalks and open gutters. Anambra must join the queue. This is why I don't like Obiano's tenure, he littered Anambra's internal roads with open gutters and poorly designed roads. Anambra is actually the most developed/built-up state in Nigeria after Lagos. Gov just needs to tar it's roads and the citizens can do the rest.\ Soludo needs to intensify PPP to make Anambra great. Anambra is poor for now (state money), so he needs to patner with Private people to do so many things in health, education, estate and also industrialization. Expand Onitsha Harbour and map out new layouts for investors and industrialists to plug and play. Start planning a highrise around the Niger River in Onitsha. That Iweka Interchange is a landmark, those houses around it are eyesore. I can't wait to prefer to Stay in Anambra over anywhere else for economic reasons. We will rise. NOTE: if you don't get the message just move along.

abuzz33:Sure Obiano complemented Obi's effort. But Obi set the precedent |
Any Nigerian that lives in Nigeria and has passed thru APC govt. Should naturally be Obidient |
globemoney01:Lol. .Anuohia. SO in your mind Obiano was responsible?? How many hospitals did Obiano build or renovated? Obiano reaped the good foundation Obi left behind in education (Number 1 2014), in Health, in Infrastructure, in Economy (increased IGR due to profit-yielding investments and support for local industries such as SAB miller, Innoson, Juhel, Neimeth, etc) |
f1dark:It's not as developed as Lagos. But it's better than about 33 States in Nigeria out of the 36. |
globemoney01:Na you I mean mumu. It seams suffering is your portion in this life that's why you are anti-good governance |
When Peter Obi says he wants to move Nigeria from Consumption to Production this is what he means. He was governor of a state that wasn't anything top 10 and limited finances and opportunity for 8 years, he tried his best to scale the state up before leaving office. I believe he has the needed understanding to move Nigeria forward. I won't take advice from a failed entrepreneur.
|
globemoney01:Another mumu aide of Obiano. After them pay u your 50k salary sense no go dey your head. Did Obi owe pensioners when he handed over? What did Obiano do that will warrant such indebtness to Anambra State? |
investnow2013:Anambra Govt. should pass a law baning road with open gutters and with no side walks and also try to introduce bycicle lanes on roads. |
WOw.. Just read that Obiano left 14 Billion indebted to Pensioners. This is the same man some ode wants to compare with Obi. Trues our lack of taste for good governance is why SE is where it is today. Thank God SOludo Solution is here. |
FreeStuffsNG:Lol.... Tons of interviews? Like the one he asked FG to print money to curb inflation right? ![]()

BATist have been talking about the strike doctors went for 13 months in Anambra State and the LGA election matter in Anambra when Obi was governor. So I want to set the record straight. Let's dissect how this two candidates dealt with issues when they presented themselves. For the strike, it's normal that institutions will encourage their members to go on strike over the failure of govt. to properly meet their needs. In Anambra, there was no exception. So yes, medical doctors went on strike for 13 months. But it is important we as the following before making our judgement. - Why did they go on strike? - How was it resolved? - And what was the aftermath? - Why did they go on strike? When Obi was governor of Anambra state, doctors went on strike due to the poor facilities of Hospitals in the state and their salaries. They wanted Obi to employ more doctors, build better health facilities and also increase their salary. Obi as the governor reasoned with them for more time and understood that the state can't afford their demands at then especially salary increments. But they were adamant and rightly so (it's their profession, they know what they deserve). So that was why the strike dragged on for months. -How was it resolved? Obi handled the matter with all sincerity without seeking political gains. He meticulously tried to meet the demands of the doctors (the ones that the state could afford). HE engaged them and also proved that he has sincerity to attend to their demands. The strike was called off and after it was called off Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) was impressed with how Obi handled their demands and how he kept to his own side of the bargain. *see attached pics* “We want to thank the governor for listening to us in the interest of our people as well as the cordial relationship that existed between the NMA and the government,’’ - NMA And what was the aftermath? Due to Obi's sincerity and faithfulness in keeping his promise, Anambra had the best public health care in 2020 after he left office and is third after Abuja and Enugu in 2022 according to studies. QUICK FACT: Obi paid the doctors their salary for the 13 months they did not work. But in Lagos, the then governor said "no work no pay" as instructed by his principal (Tinubu) who opined that the strike was "politically motivated" and even went ahead to advise him (Fashola) to sack the doctors which the governor did. _________________________________________ On the LGA election, I won't say much but I just want you to know that Obi inherited an unstable Anambra and was the first Gov. to conduct LGA election in the state. That's all. Join the movement to rescue Nigeria from obvious thieves and rogues who dollarized our economy and shared hard-earned dollars in their respective primaries. No be say Obi no get a dollar to share oh, he has, but that's not his way of life. If those ones win, they will need to settle those who helped them to power with more dollars and Nigeria's scarce money. But if Obi wins, he will focus on fixing Nigeria and meeting up with what he promised Nigerians. The choice is yours. A better Nigeria is PO-sibble with #ObiDatti
