Panic Over Alleged Juju Invocation In Sii Community Khana Khana LGA Rivers State Nigeria

Some natives of Sii Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, are calling for the urgent intervention of the state government over alleged invocation of charms, popularly known as juju, against members of the community.

A former youth leader of Sii community, Mr Barigbon Kenneth Wintor, and others accused some community leaders of invoking charms against members of the community calling for accountability.

Wintor told journalists that the alleged charms, were placed at strategic places in the community, causing fear among the people.

They called for the immediate removal of the charms to save the people of Sii from further misfortune.

His words: “I am calling on the government to come and rescue Sii from regular death from the invocation of juju. Our youths are dying everyday just because of the invocation of juju.

“Most people living and doing business in Sii now live in fear of the unknown. Infact, about 50 per cent of the women in my community are being poisoned and they have one illment or the other through witchcraft.

“The juju has led boys into sporadic killing. We are no longer save in our own community because leaders are afraid of differences in opinion.”

Wintor insisted that, “as I speak, the side of the invocation can be assessible to the media if they want to come and verify. They went as far as building huts to house the juju. That is why we are using this medium to call on the relevant agencies, the traditional ruling council to come to our aid, to tell these chiefs and leaders to remove this juju and also do proper cleansing of our community according to the custom and tradition of Ogoni nationality so that our people will be safe.”

Also speaking, a concerned indigene of Sii community based in the USA, Fortune Diginee, appeales to the Rivers State Government, the Ogoni Council of Chiefs, the Khana Council chairman, and Kagote to intervene in what he described as an unfortunate incident in Sii community.

Diginee wondered why leaders who are supposed to be custodians of the people were turning around to invoke charms on their people.

He said the community leaders had, on January 2, 2026, during a town hall meeting, admitted openly of invoking juju against anyone who questions their style of leadership.

According to him, “we have not seen this amount of death on daily basis, it has never happened in the history of that community, see the amount of young men running mad in the community. We have never seen this sort of panic, the women grab their children, tied to their chest when they hear cry and wailing from their next door neighbour. They are worried, they don’t know who is going to be next.

“We cannot leave like this, this is horrible, this is painful, this is unbelievable that in 2026, that leaders of a community can deliberately invoke juju on their people to die if they dare question them go give account of their stewardship.”

Diginee also responded to recent criticisms against him in a media publication by some community leaders, stating that their actions are a result of his calls for transparency and accountability.

The US-based businessman emphasized that his NGO, known as, the Voices of indigenous people of Sii is a registered NGO, contrary to claims made by his critics.

He highlighted his contributions to the community, including monthly payments to teachers hired to support Sii students in the community’s government school due to a shortage of teachers.

“They tried to blackmail a non-profit organization that is duly registered and even a man that has given so much to the community, Mr. Fortune Diginee.

“I built the lab and library at the secondary school there from my personal fund. I am building a town hall for the community as we speak from my personal fund.

“I have paid the teachers who teach in the government secondary school because they have no teacher for Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry, I pay them N100,000 per teacher a month to teach children that are not my children. I am only a man that think about the poor and vulnerable.”

Let's not mix apples and oranges. Oseni was doing his job, asking questions, and Umahi should've seized the opportunity to shine, share his expertise, and put his cards on the table. Instead, he got defensive. In public service, you've got to bring your A-game and rise to the occasion, not talk down to people. It's not about age, it's about bringing value to the table.

Those who arrested and sentenced Isaac Adaka Boro to death for declaring Niger Delta Republic were neither Hausa-Fulanis nor Yorubas but two supposed brothers of his and Biafrans named Odumegwu Ojukwu and Aguiyi Ironsi who were still on the side of Gambaris and still trying to please them as at then. For declaring Niger-Delta Republic Ironsi, the then military head of state, ordered Ojukwu to get Isaac Boro arrested for treason.

Ojukwu, in an attempt to please Gambaris, fought Isaac Boro for 14 days within which he used federal might of “one-Nigeria” to kill 150 soldiers loyal to Isaac Boro, caught Isaac Boro, stripped him naked and sent him over to Lagos where Ironsi charged him to court and within just 2 months got him convicted, at the Supreme Court, of treasonable felony of trying to break away from Azikiwe’s one Nigeria, got him sentenced to death by hanging. While Ironsi​ and Ojukwu did all that to Isaac Boro​, they left untouched their own Igbo brother soldiers who planned a coup with which they killed Innocent Hausas, Yorubas, Niger Deltans, Middle belters leaving Igbo politicians unharmed despite they, like Zik and Okpara, were part and parcel of the corrupt Balewa government.

However, before Ojukwu and Ironsi could execute their sentence on Isaac Boro God intervened and the counter coup happened. Ironsi was overthrown and killed. Gowon took over declared Isaac Boro innocent and released him. But just fifteen months later Ojukwu too declared Biafra Republic due to the way Igbos were being killed in the North. In declaring Biafra, rather than first apologise to Isaac Boro for what he earlier did to him and then ask for his cooperation in fighting to realize the Biafra dream, Ojukwu did nothing like that but without consulting Boro at all went as far as arrogantly including in his Biafra map the very Niger Delta areas which Isaac Boro earlier tried to pull out of Nigeria and which he (Ojukwu) nearly killed him for.

This angered Isaac Boro and Ken Saro Wiwa who both pledged support for Gowon in order to teach Ojukwu a bitter lesson for his arrogance and dishonesty. That was why Isaac Boro and Saro Wiwa fought on the side of Gowon during the war. Naturally Isaac Boro couldn’t have come out of prison to join the Ojukwu who jailed him and fight against the Gowon who released him. It would have been absurd. No rational human being does that.

This is the truth of what happened and which Igbos hate to hear but prefer to blame everyone else as if they themselves were 100℅ innocent.

Igbos must learn to say the truth because if the Biafra/Niger Delta Republic they now seek is founded on lies and deliberate falsehood, like Nigeria, it will not stand but will soon become a failed state like Nigeria. We can’t leave Nigeria for another Nigeria.

But we however know that Igbos allergy to truth is incurable, therefore Niger-Delta states will never be part of Biafra.

The reason your unit finishes early is because of the arrears on your meter. When you recharge 7k, 4,200 is deducted from it as part of your arrears making it 60% of 7,000, stamp duty of 50 naira is also deducted, and VAT of about 180 is also deducted leaving you with about 2,570.

You might end up with about 28 units depending on the class your on area and the class you're on.

What you should do now is, engage your landlord peacefully let him understand that you can't pay someone else's arrears. If you both understand yourself, the landlord is supposed to asked you to clear it and it will be deducted from your subsequent rent once your rent is due.

The funniest story I have read this morning is the Governor of Enugu State pleading with Igbos in Rivers State to vote for the SIM.

Such plea must have come from a dreamy assumption that the Igbos living and doing business in Rivers cannot see for themselves, hear for themselves, feel for themselves, speak for themselves and know what is good for them. But that assumption is the most spurious thing anyone can think about.

Gov Ugwuanyi, who could not plead with the Igbos in Enugu state to save his political career by sending him to the Senate is allowing himself to fall under the illusion that he has any influence over Igbos in Rivers State. The people of Enugu voted against Ugwuanyi two Saturday’s ago for his bad political alliance. Why does he think anyone will listen to him now?

The Igbos know that Gov Wike scourged them with whips and his handpicked stooge will whip them with the tail of a scorpion.

Ugwuanyi, a physician who could not heal himself is proposing healing for others. Ugwuanyi is now studying geology on the morning of earthquake and climbing a tree from the top. Too little too late.

Igbos in Rivers know the person who have been engaging with them for a very long time. They know the person whose programs and vision for the state will ensure inclusion for their people, prosperity for their businesses, security for their investment, peace and progress for all.

That person is Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, candidate of the SDP, the party of the HORSE.

Majority of Igbos have decided and there is nothing Ugwuanyi can do about it.

After spending all his time in office wearing G-5 Asoebi uniforms and junketing with the resources of Enugu people all over Europe in the name of attending G-5 meetings, reality has now dawned on him and he is asking same people he has given no help to prepare a retirement home for him.

Governor Wike gave landed property in Port Harcourt to all G-5 Governors and Ugwuanyi, who does not care about the progress of Rivers State, wants a stooge Governor who will continue to fritter the resources of Rivers State on him. No way!

Igbos in Rivers State know what is good for them and they are going for it.
