A friend told me his 750 birds are doing 22creates at their 27th wk, on deep litter. Is that possible folks? I need confirmation from experienced farmers in d huz.

yes brother you can administer amoxitin to laying birds. it wont affect their production. also check if it contains sulphur. if there is sulphur please dont administer.

Administer antibiotic routinely and dont abuse it.

No, we said dont vaccinate sick birds or birds that appear sick. Treat them first and when they are healthy, vaccinate. In hot weather, vaccination failure is very common. Find a way of minimizing the effect by following the link I shared above. If you do that your vaccinations will likely succeed. There are also tests that can help you determine if vaccination was successful or not. It's called serological test. You do the test before vaccination and repeat it 3-4 weeks after vaccination. The result will tell you if vaccination was successful or not. That way u can avoid huge loses like the poster above. But in nigeria animal labs seem to be scarce or costly and small holders may not afford it. I noticed yesterday that my laying birds of about a yr old wasn't able 2 finish their feed, infact the ate only half of their normal ration. This morning things are still same(low consumption) and hv dropped in production as well. They look quite healthy and are active but I noticed few green droppings in their Penn this morg. What might be wrong with them?
Pls let the gurus in d huz help out here.
