Guy, I have a quick question for you. . . Do you think "Dickson Etuhu" is capable of playing in the heart of our defense along side "Joseph Yobo" ?

semid4lyfe:

I am dissapointed in Samson Siasia and this list.

1. What the phuck is that dead log of wood Isaac promise doing in the team? That guy is so heavy, can't play shyte and ought to be a professional pallbearer.

2. Why has he left out 14 goals Brown Ideye of Sochaux, France and Anthony Ujah of Lillestrom, Norway (Nigeria's most in-form striker/player in Scandinavia)?

3. Why invite only one natural left back in Taiye Taiwo? He should have called up Uwa Echiejile or Nurudeen Orelesi of the U-23 Olympic team as cover.

4. What's Yusuf Ayila doing back in the team? He's old, lost pace and doesn't have what it takes to cope with the rigours of midfield. We should be moving forward & trying to inject younger, fitter & workaholic players. Younger and fitter defensive midfielders like Obiora Nwankwo & Ramon Azeez should have being invited instead.

As for Osaze, Siasia was right in excluding him.

SiaONE is beginning to look and sound like same of the same.

my broda u too much.
u spoke my mind,
if sia 1 is not losing it why invite isaac promise and leave out brown ideye who has scored abt 12 goals in the .
french league.

what is the facination with shola ameobi and victor moses, how many goals have the scored?
can they change a game dramatically.

part of amodu's problem was no self worth, if we do not hire Sis1, it is our own loss.

to bad for a supposedly world class striker to miss an open net when u reaslly need the goal,welltoo bad.
please dwell on the positives in this match. did you see yusuf ayilas perfomance. 8 out of 10 if you ask me not thatbcow dung etuhu
for me this team can be salvaged with the following players

    enyeama===============in
    yobo,shittu,afolabi, yakubu,obasi,etuhu, echiejile==========out
adeleye============in
ayila==============in
obafemi==========in
osaze=======in

taiwo=====in
haruna===in
ideye=in

then bring in eneramo, rabiu ibrahim, femi ajilore, olubayo, terna suswan, bartholomew ibenegbu etc
and lasatly largerback ===in

we must all understand that what we were looking for was a miracle, a coach gets to work with players for the first time a month to world cup and you expected miracles, not likely especially when you have fatkubu there.
let us just take the positives and move on.

NOT A BAD LIST BUT I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THE EXCLUSION OF RABIU IBRAHIM.

I RESPECT THIS LIST BECAUSE IT SHOWS A LOT OF COMMON SENSE.
I REALLY LIKE THE INCLUSION OF BROWN IDEYE, WE DO NOT HAVE A GOOD HEADER IN OUR
TEAM AND WE GET AT LEAST 5/6 GOOD HEADING SITUATIONS PER MATCH SO IF ONLY FOR HIS ABILITY TO
HEAD I PRAY THAT IDEYE GETS INTO THE FINAL 23MAN LIST EVEN AHEAD OF THE YAK.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Alex Song Vs John Mikel Obi by Nwogeneugo: 3:53pm On Apr 07, 2010
i think this guy chidichris is just being infantile, who is better mikel or song : take your pick and argue your points intelligently then shut up and listen to the next man.

song is better than mikel offensively, mikel has not taken his gameto the next level, he is great as a DM but he also is a great passer of the ball and he really knows how to pick out his team mate but he has not developed that part of his game and the modern game is all about offensive ability, the ability to score goals, compare the two of them and how many goals they have scored for their clubs and see what i am talking about. mikel has just stayed stuck where mourihno kept him, he needs to fulfil his full potential and that means his offensive abilities, shooting, heading and running forward with the ball.
he can tackle, really knows how to shield the ball between his feet and break up play but when he gets the ball he cannot start a fast counter attacking move or send in a pass from his own half on the run for his teammate (like obagoal or osaze) to finish.

he is good as a defender but needs to work on his offensive abilities.
Sports / Re: Uwa Echiejile And Taiye Taiwo: Who Is Better?. by Nwogeneugo: 3:34pm On Apr 07, 2010
Kgdavid:

the fact of the matter is that the super eagles do not play well together but these are all good individual players. an attacking fullback is the reality of the modern game. typical example would be evra. it is the job of the other players to cover him depending on the team strategy.
GBAM. the modern game is all about scoring goals and any player that can give his side an edge offensively is the real deal. just sitting back and defending is a no no.
when you are playing against a side with messi you can be sure that your ability to score is the key to victory. not stopping him from scoring because you may not be able to do that.
marutimon:

You guys do remember that Taiwo almost allowed Nigeria to score against Algeria through a free kick bullet, that he played out a ball to Kalu Uche in the EGypt game that should have made it 2:0 and that he was the only player actually trying (with some successes) to level up with Egypt in the second half?

Without Taiwo Nigeria has no idea what to do with freekicks,  Taiwo does not score a lot of goals, but all he needs to do is thrash it at the keeper and more often than not the keeper will spill and allow for a rebound.

very true this. you dey see road my broda.
marutimon:

Taye Taiwo. He gives so much more to his side. You just have to know how to use him. He is one of the few world class players Nigeria have at the moment.
true again
Sports / Re: Seven Players Who Should Not Be In Nigeria's Squad To S.A by Nwogeneugo: 3:19pm On Apr 07, 2010
bishoprccg:

A critical analysis of Nigeria's performance during the WC Qualifier towards S.A 2010 and ANC Angola 2010 has really exposed so called Super Eagles players as under performers, and definitely not qualified to be called World cup materials.
Coach Lars Lagerback and fellow forumites should please take note!

1. Joseph Yobo( He has not shown enough consistency and is also match rusty, as David Moyes have confined him to the bench.
     Also prone to injury)

2. Obinna Nwaneri(the most inconsistent player at Angola 2010. He does not deserve an invitation to the Eagles camp after
     gifting Ghana their 1-0 victory over Nigeria. He is presently rehabilitating at Heartland of owerri)

3. Seyi Olofinjana (He has never proved himself to be a true Super Eagles player with his colorless display. Perhaps age is
    catching up with him. He is also prone to injury and easily fades away during matches)

4. Chibuzor Okonkwo( This over-rated Bayelsa United player proved beyond every reasonable doubt that he was not yet ripe for the Super Eagles,
    his lethagic display against Congo during the Eagles Team B friendly and against Niger during the 2nd leg encounter at Kano.

5.Yakubu Aiyegbeni( He has nothing to offer the national team, with his sluggish and near miss blunders)

6.Sani Kaita( Lots of folks assume that kaita is filling the quota slot, but he has consistently shown he does not deserve to be at the world cup with
    his clumsy tackles and poor marksmanship)

7. Onyekachi Apam( Lets face the fact: Can Apam stop a rampaging Messi or a sleeky giorgio samaras. definitely No. so tell me: Why must lagerback
    take him to the WC. A close check at hi french ligue club( Nice) shows he has picked enough red/ yellow card to send a danger signal to any good
    coach to beware.

The country is blessed with good players who can easily fit into the shoes of the above players.
In concluding ill love us to hear what Lars Lagerback said when he traveled to see some of our foreign based players:
"The Swede coach disclosed that he has taken about three weeks since his appointment to travel to Europe and other parts of the world where Nigerian players are plying their skills and have found out that most of the present super Eagles players are not fit to make the national team as they do not only have a starting shirt in their clubs but are not even reckoned with in the teams they claim to be playing for".

www.grelohi.com

i do not agree with you on sani kaita. he is not filling any quota and is actually a better bet for DM position, he is also offensive in play and only needs to work on his marksmanship and shooting.

Apam also is prone to being too hard but is also a good bet for the defense.
Politics / Re: Sanusi's Dirty Deals As First Bank Md by Nwogeneugo: 2:23pm On Mar 31, 2010
all these propaganda, victor shodipo and newspaper advertorials to discredit sanusi are cowardly and self serving.
fact is that the nigerian banking industry is (not was) a sham and shame.
please poster tell me that you have evidence that all the pick pockets like akingbola and cecilia have used their positions to move the Nigerian economy forward or that sanusi,s actions are not in the best interest of the nigerian nation,
if you cannot do that, you can post one million things sanusi did wrong or get your guy victor shodipo to take out advert pages in all the newspapers to abuse sanusi and try to be clever via propaganda but you are all doomed to failure.
sanusi is not a saint, if you are looking for one in Nigeria please look in the mirror and tell me if the person you see is one.
Until then, any and every Nigerian who takes a step in the right direction gets my support and they should have yours if you truly want Nigeria to move forward.

Lukman is doing well at Monaco. I'd invite him ahead of Ibrahim. Ajilore is actually not suitable as an AM. Maybe CM or DM.

noway in Heaven you can pick haruna lukman over Rabiu Ibrahim, RI is by far the best CM we have now, ha can mark, play for the team and does not lose concentration, he plays for the duration of the match and not turning on and off like your haruna.

scored all goals frm DM position. And we don't need one hit wonders. Mikel is by far naija's best CM playing for a top class side like Chelsea. In fact he's our only player playing in a top class side so all them haters stop hating. He shone in Italy against Inter and has been a regular albeit due to the absence of Essien. Imagine, this same Ajilore guy used to left out of a team like NAC Breda in the dutch league
Let him keep it up over a few more games, then it'l be left to Lagerback to decide. BUT FOR ME, TOO MEDIOCRE.[

oga snakova compare this man to your world class mikel. i will take a player with offensive/ scoring abililty over a defensive player, that is why Taiye taiwo is still better that echiejile.
from the DM position he has scored 3 goals for his club, femi is definitely a sure  bet for the Super Eagles any day and should have been in the Nations cup. The guy has a high work rate, he can defend and also has an offensive edge over mikel and others. we are not talking about club status.
Sports / Re: Femi Ajilore On Fire by Nwogeneugo: 5:43pm On Mar 18, 2010
Femi Ajilore is a great midfielder and should have been in the Natiions Cup with Sani Kaita.

Watch our match against Mozambique during the qualifiers and see his defensive and offensive work rate with two great shots which the keeper did well to parry.

He is better than haruna lukman(more stable).
Rabiu Ibrahim is our best creative midfielder, stanley okoro does not seem to be able to finish a game well and emmanuel ekpo has so much promise but for me has not fulfiled that potential.

I go for Rabiu Ibrahim, Uche Kalu, Femi Ajilore and Osaze and/or Nsofor for our midfield just like Siasia in Beijin

Common sense should tell her to serve some drink to the visitors, and he can do the same

What you listed is not bad, but it the tone he uses that determines whether it submissive or not

my opinion matters but the final decison rests on his shoulders as the head of the house and what he says goes.  There can not be two heads, one person has to be responsible for those things, at least that is how i was raised and how i function now.  When the poo hits the fan he has to fix it too, so with that power comes responsibility and a real man wont buck under that presure but will welcome it.

I would never ever expect my husband to serve vistors that come into our home, i would feel embarrassed and would for sure chop off his head in private if he ever stepped into my terrorty to do that.

I would never feel comfortable with my husband serving me a plate of food, unless i was sick.

Does that make me a slave, I dont think so, i just know my place in my marriage and my worth in his heart.]

i want to commend the post by sistawoman.
i just had to say something once i read your post, you are a real woman.
i am married and my wife is not a slave because my sisters can never ever be a slave in any man's house
but i am the head of my home, not as in dictator idi amin but as in the buck stops with me, somebody must take responsibility as the head, it cannot be shared. the funny thing is that even in mediaval times and now, men are the titular heads while Women are the de facto heads of the home, women are the ones that really run the home. think of men as the president of the home while the woman is the secretary general, add to this the skill of backseat driving that our moms have perfected over centuries and you get the idea how important a woman really is.
any man who does not consult his wife when taking decisions is obviously not playing his best team.

you are not a slave because you submit to your husband.
Can you support you husband without a job withou a job withou complaining, so amny men are doing it with no noise, but women complain because in you heart you know that is not the natural order of things.
if you are equal make you propose to your fiance/boyfriend or toast am like for three months whether egree or not, infact any guy wey u see and you like am toast to show equality and no feel bad if e no gree, na so we men dey see am. Then i go gree say we really dey equal.

the comments by so many ignorant people shows that we are not yet and cannot ever be a Nation.
Let me ask you all Biafrans, Yorubas, North (core and non core) Niger Deltan, all and sundry, IS THIS THE NIGERIA YOU WANT, IS THIS THE NIGERIA YOU FOUGHT FOR, SHED YOUR BLOOD AND OTHER PEOPLES BLOOD FOR, THE PEOPLE YOU FOUGHT AGAINST AND THE PEOPLE YOU FOUGHT WITH, WHICH DO YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH?

as an aside i see some niger delta people here dissing Biafra and what it represents,well what caused Biafra some 40 odd years is what has prompted the militancy in the Niger delta now, so like Ojukwu told Saro Wiwa when he came to Ohanaeze meeting during abacha regime, "good morning in the evening"
To yorubas, well check out how many of you are getting killed like rams in the north.
To Ibos, THE WAR WAS JUSTIFIED ON ACCOUNT OF THE PROGROM CARRIED OUT IN THE NORTH, but you also contributed to the loss of the war with your internal treachery and love of money, we know those who ran away with money meant for the war effort, some of their families are still around now. there can be no revenge, move and rebuild Biafra, it is a Spirit that can never die. Ojukwu did what he had to do but he was not blameless and is only reverred because he epitomises the spirit of Biafra.
To all, please before you post anything think about this, do you want a strong united Nigeria that can fulfil 80% of its potential, please think about this and be strategic in your comments on issues like this.

If you people are not circumspect in you post, there will be no Nigeria when next the fire starts.

Amodu cannot change the direction of a game, his offensive abilities (tactical) are very suspect, against better organised sides, he does not stand a prayer.
our group is a wek group and still we struggled to qualify.
He is not a bad coach and has his place in Nigerian football history but he is not world cup coach.
