Babadee1900: Let me give you a tip on how to avoid getting blocked due to too many cancellations.
At the end of every working day, check your activity score before you close for the day. If you see that you have exceeded 48% of cancellations, do this: stay online, accept any trip that enters, turn off network for the phone number your rider will call, slide on arriving now and wait. Some riders will cancel but if the rider did not cancel wait for 5 minutes then cancel.
If you want it to be faster, increase your radar/coverage to 20km. Sometimes I will be on my bed in Ajah and accept requests from Ikorodu
The screenshot below is from this evening, my cancellation rate was at 56% when I closed. I have balanced it!
P.s Do this at your own discretion noted bro. Thanks |

xana101: Bolt/Taxify are mad!!! Took this lady from vi to freedom way. We went to eko hotel first and I waited for more than one hour. She begged me to wait cos her stuffs were inside my car. When she came I checked the price was N1,300. Got to her destination Price was N1,700 from eko hotel with toll gate fee to freedom way. Bolt wrote price was recalculated cos of poor route. She gave me 2k and ask me to keep the change. I do not expect the fare to be less than 2k. I think I will stop waiting for Bolt rider. Some will tell u wait for me after-all my money is reading. bro for your sanity, please stop checking price. Just end ride and take whatever you see in peace |

Brainbox0806: You sound too vain...so short d fuc up and go and enjoy ur job with ur posh car, you keeps over flogging this issue of lasdri , let it rest. people like you are the type that treat drivers like trash... unknown to you vain lots that some drivers are multi millionaire and people have different motives for driving, some people drive for funs.pretty bad you were once a driver but now believed you've grown a wing. Met some quite numbers of your type while fun driving , put them in check always. Guys, don't lose guard, don't be cowards, go out make money and quit panicking when you see vio or their likes, you got to be brave if you want to be rich and stop pointing fingers..that I'm not who I want to be .. because of this or that, cowards do that. Dress well, smell nice while in work, the way you dress prone the way you will be addressed. To drive or excel in lagos, you must possess the calm and crazy characters, apply the appropriate conducts when needed. Don't do sir sir or ma ma to enter grave, use your brain. Don't enter people compound except well known hotels, let your brain be on high frequency always. N Guys complaining about bolt cheating them in fare calculations or not giving you cancellation fee (it sucks n disheartening when you drive 3/4km to go pick a rider but end up canceling on you after a long wait), make sure you run the day always and don't let the day runs you, if a system try to fuc u ..then fuc them too. Nobody will teach you how to.. devise ur own way true talk bro I’ve found out that when you dress well and are composed, no rider will take you for granted Me personally I try to maintain my cool always but if you show me say you get craze then I go show you say I be Lagos boy and put you in your place especially all those mannerless and classless girls Again I find it funny that on a thread like this which is meant for Uber drivers to share their experiences, we would let some dimwit girl to decide how and what we do. Someone that has never contributed constructively on the thread nor have been of any use. It’s a shame Lastly yes angryigboman could go overboard sometimes but he really makes sense in most of his comments. God knows there’s no way I would have modified my post if I had posted that girl’s pictures |

mrjaydee: Lol bro no be so. We are all human, cos some riders are bad doesn't mean all the riders are bad. Ever wonder why things like this rarely happens on uber? I gave her that chance cos it's just 1600. I'm trying to save the next driver she might use and try this stunt. This will make her think again and also I'm sure she would tell her friends about this issue.
It's a Win situation here bro. true bro. Has she paid you? |

suco01: This is not an issue of pity for anyone. The reason why I said I won't believe a side of a story is I don't know the real story of this matter. send her your account number through SMS and lets see if she's really scam or not. Me am just not in support of posting riders number anyhow, there are better ways to go about it. I don call some riders here based on numbers drivers put here where riders will tell me that he/she will substitute the money to the insult other callers gave them. No be all of us wey dey here Sabi address issue maturely, some are ready to escalate things while some are just to achieve the riders pay their money. baba I commend you for the way you spoke to her but most of those girls are plainly rude, arrogant and lie a lot She must have lied to you to save face. She should post the message of the guy that asked for a fvck. Besides respect is earned. If she had wanted one she would have paid her debts No need supporting her but if you still believe what she told you then you can as well believe my grandma of 85yrs is still a virgin |

You read my story that I picked up riders the fare was due to surge, I lent her 1k to buy things on the way and at the end she paid 4000naira and told me she will pay the balance on monday.
What other info did i left out? What will i gain by putting up someone's number for us to call? Is it not so the person wont do this shit to another driver?
Make I rest here getting angry already baba nawa o... you of all people Me wey never even reach one year for this hustle no fit make this kind mistake surge or no surge Well shit happens. We move I just hope she pays |

nitigriti: Thank you for having a view different from mine, which you expressed.
All I've just be saying is e-hailing drivers cannot afford to pretend like the Lagos State Government factor is not there. It is there, it stares us in the face. For instance, the latest VIO is saying is that e-hailing vehicles drivers should have Hackney permit and LASDRI. No driver can afford to ignore these directives.
For instance, if VIO should stop me and is able to identify me as an e-hailing driver; then ask me for my Hackney permit and LASDRI, will I tell them Uber or Bolt have not notified me, so I don't have? Won't my vehicle be impounded?
One of our responsibilities on this thread is to guide people right so their investments in e-hailing can be protected. Anybody can come on this forum and say I'm not getting this and I'm not getting that; which will end up misleading so many people such that when it comes to time to face these officials on the road, they will be on there own and at the mercies of the officials. i get you bro. Nobody is denying the government factor. In fact as someone rightly pointed out the government would always win But what I’m saying is that there’s no way the government would implement an order without informing Uber. No official statements from government yet and we just carry am for head Just like the case of gokada ban, there was official statement from the government and the firm was also informed We are less than 2% of the entire Uber drivers in Lagos on this platform so tell me how drivers not on this thread will be aware if not from Uber coz apart from this thread I’ve not heard, seen or read about these permits(radio, tv, internet) Again I’m yet to see anybody whose car was impounded coz of those permits. It’s just hearsay and nothing more |

nitigriti: So in our collective reasoning, what Uber or Bolt or OCar or InDriver says is more important and should be taken more seriously than what Lagos State Government says?
Please what's the meaning of "denial" again? baba I’m surprised this is coming from you Uber/bolt/ocar/Indriver gave us a platform to come partner with them with the “claim” that they are registered with the government for the business hence the commission they charge. I don’t have any business with Lagos state government and if they feel that drivers need to get any permit, then they should communicate the firms that gave the drivers the platform and then the firms will communicate the partners(drivers) Till then I’m not paying shishi for any shit Modified:: Guys we can all agree to disagree on issues like this and others. No need for insults please We are a big family here and let’s not forget the purpose of this thread Peace |

waks1: Some of those toll attendants are thief. I passed admiralty toll plaza and I always like to pay with cash there so as to reserve my etag credit for the lekki-ikoyi link toll since that is strictly non-cash, so I gave this guy cash 1k and he balanced me my change after which he press a button and thank God I notice the electronic balance display which shows I have also been charged on my etag. I quickly challenged him and he came out of the cubicle and return my cash. I told him is this how you guys keep robbing unsuspecting users of their hard-earned money. When you get sacked now ur eye go clear. Guy be vigilant when using the toll so as to avoid double payment especially when u have etag. i think the best thing to do is stick with e tag if you have one and cash if you don’t. That way you avoid unnecessary arguments and save time It’s very easy to top up your e tag. You don’t have to go to their office as you can do it on your bank mobile app and on LCC app also |

AshiraWealthy: What's this one saying? Did you not see where I recommended an SPF for him? For you to even think of Otentika as broad spectrum SPF shows you know little to nothing about skincare! Who uses otentika these days? I'm talking about pure sun screen, you're mentioning otentika.... You're still very backwards in this field. Move with the times girl. The skincare Industry has gone beyond otentika and the likes of it. Stop sounding archaic.
For your info, Im a pro skincare therapist and cosmetic formulator. So go and ammas more info to up your game cos you're still far behind in matters of skincare.
Don't waste your time mentioning me cos I dont argue with skincare wannabes who dont understand the science behind how certain skincare formula work. Only to to make noise with halfbaked info they stumbled upon online.

brainwave: Hmm...well. my honest opinion may not be accurate as I'd very likely have a positive bias towards HSE cos that what I know and have the most passion for.
Nevertheless, if finance is not a deterrent and you have international career aspirations like the original guy (Eleniyan) who asked the question, I'd definitely recommend HSE because, you might be better placed competing for HSE jobs with Arabs, Europeans or Americans than if you were to compete with them for HR positions. It all boils down to your personal circumstance and future desires or plans.
As for the question of which to go for between HSE (I'm assuming by this you mean Nigeria-based programs from organisations like ISPON etc) and NEBOSH, of course if you've got the resources and have to choose one, NEBOSH is the way to go!
Hope this helps! thank you bro It did really help Cheers! |
Career › Re: Any HSE Professionals In The House? by NYCnextStop(m): 11:01am On Jan 30, 2020 |
brainwave: Well...HSE is quite different from HR or personnel management (CIPM) although both disciplines have in common, some form of people management function. I know a couple of people who decided to go the HR route after their first degrees in Sociology as well as there are people who chose to pursue the HSE route after a first degree in the social sciences.
You might need to do a comparative analysis of the number of opportunities potentially available in both fields (HSE vs HR) in the labor market post-NYSC because the truth is that irrespective of your interest in a certification or qualification, the end goal in investing time and other resources towards acquiring such is to move you forward towards your career goals and enhancing your job prospects.
In summary, I think you should compare both professions and determine which would serve your best interests in view of the resources available for you to work with (especially finances) and against the backdrop of your future plans and desires.
Cheers! sir in your honest opinion which offers more opportunities out there Please NEBOSH or hse which would you advise I go for? Thanks. |
