white mosquito: @ oaray. Obviously ur learner. Some details drag the storyline, and introduce too many leads/issues for the reader to consider. Its always advisable to let the reader form his own opinion/impression abt a xter.lol. Larry has not even defined the character he wrote about. Tell me, WHAT OPINION DID HE FORM FOR YOU? Not every detail in a novel is relevant to the main issues. I'm sure you know that. In fact, some details are meant to lead you towards a premature and ultimately wrong conclusion. In this case, he had to write both for the readers and subsequent writers. I feel that is why he added so much details. That said, every writer writes differently, so do not expect others to write exactly the way you like it. BTW, its true I'm a learner and do not have any published book like you do . However I do not see how that affects the fact that Larry did a good job with his intro. |

Ishilove: I noticed it too, but I felt he was giving us points to work on. Every detail must not be a waste. It usually should be a pointer for which direction the story should follow. It is now left for the next set of writers to take some of the 'unnecessary' details, develop it and incorporate it into the plot.my thoughts exactly. |
