@Kats That last info will also be needed on this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/1487566/obatala-oduduwa-ile-ife |
OP deactivated his account? but why? |
While we moderators strive to be fair and transparent it is also necessary that members stay within rules. We would have no need to ban anyone for long or short time if he/she didn't break any rule. Before now many will claim they dont know why they were banned; now we try to add the offensive post to the ban message most times, except in a case where the offense span many posts. Am glad no one is claiming he/she doesn't know why he/she was banned or that he/she is not guilty of breaking the rules. The arguments now is that the ban is too long. While we look into the long ban issue, may I also plead we stop all these personal/tribal/parental insults. We can have hot steamy and passionate robust debate without throwing personal insults. We will always need to disagree to agree, through that we share uncommon information and knowledge, but how to throw insults is not part of what we need to learn and if we are truly matured as we claim then we can do without breaking rules. Sometimes it can be annoying banning someone for same offense repeatedly. Cheers! |
Desola: Why must we make a case for them and not against them?Is this an indirect way of saying you miss me? I miss you too. Sorry what I actually mean is that we should focus on Kwara; the case can be made for or against. |
Sloan: Completely seconded! I don't know if Afam moved it here to hide the light under a bushel, so that more of some people can keep wallowing in their ignorance. Can he at least move it to Politics or Cultural section at least? Can OAM4J do something please? The original title of the thread suggests an ethnic discussion rather than making a case for Kwara in the event of the proposed National Conference taking place. I have modified the title of the thread to reflect the true discourse of the thread and now moved it back to Politics Section. Please lets focus as much as possible on making a case for Kwara State. Cheers. |
Happy Birthday Sweetheart! many many happy returns! https://stylegerms.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/263107xcitefun-happy-birthday-9.jpg |
lertee: I see, let's assume there is yoruba or oodua republic, who then rules or which state becomes the headquater?lol...that will be the least of all problems of Odua nation. We can easily agree on that on a round table. Besides there was a Western region before now with Ibadan as the capital, that didn't make Ibadan people more superior than others and Lagos as Nigerian capital didn't make Lagosians more superior than the rest of Yoruba people. |
Katsumoto: You should stop calling them a minority in the West. You don't need a census to know that there is no group with a majority in the West, so all groups individually are minorities. Don't create a schism where none exists.Thank you. I was going to ask her to tell me what will make Yorubas in kwara minority to Oyos, Ondos, Ijebus, Egbas, Ekitis, Ilajes, Aworis, Egun etc |
lertee: Let's say in politics, you allign with where you are wanted more. If they allign with the west, politically they will be powerless cos the core south western prts will dominate. What will make them powerless? Which core south will dominate them? Where have you seen or read in modern times of any Yoruba part dominating another? And you think they will be more honored and welcomed with their Yoruba language in the North? |
lertee: You may enlighten me more on the yoruba history of ilorin that makes them more “yoruba”That majority of Ilorin people embraced Islam has not turned them to Fulani. Emirship has a lot more to do with Islam than with Fulanis. The story of Ilorin has been shared by many on this thread with little variation and there is no part of the story that claim Ilorin is mostly Fulanis. That the Fulanis in Ilorin have mixed so well with the lots of Yorubas in Ilorin and the fact that they have an Emir has not turned majority of them to Fulanis. In the event of disintegration, let the people of each locality decide where they want to belong. If Ilorin town goes north, the rest of Kwara need not follow same route except majority of them so wish. |
smartchoice: If you call painting roofs and buildings renovation! And mind you do not post SUBEB projects...Na wa o! I couldn't help but post cos of you. I believe you are from Ekiti, at least appreciate "the little" he is doing even though you want more and believe the state deserves more. If only you know how many states who get 10 times what Ekiti is getting and have far less to show for such level of income you will "se ope tie". From what I have read and seen here and elsewhere, Fayemi deserves some commendations. |
