You can not be generating 4000MW for such a large population and hope there is / will be light for everybody. 4000MW for upto 170million people is close to nothing. What about industries, firms, where do they get their supply from? Everybody has to share the 4000MW

And what is even painful it's the fact that it takes quite a long time to build power stations. Anything between 3 and 6 years for a 4500MW station. Nigeria has got a lot of hard work to do. You need a lot more - seriously a lot.

Comparing with the South African situation:
Currently SA generates at 39150MW and soon will be about 48000MW with a population of 52million people.

Nigeria with a population of plus 165million should do with a generating capacity of around 168000MW. Currently sitting at 4000MW, there is a difference of 164000MW that must still be attained to - and with a generating capacity of up to 6000MW per station - at the most 27 more stations has to be built.

May the powers that be in that country find the courage to face this challenge head on assist the nation. It would be very good for the entire African continent if this could be done.

If previous administrations had invested in power, it wouldn't have been this bad, but whether u like it or not, GEJ has invested massively in the power sector and the dividend is gradually coming to fruition, u don't expect what was neglected for over 40years, to be fixed overnight. Turbines are not built overnight. The truth is that there is a conscious effort by the GEJ administration to address this power issue and once all the turbines are completed and fed to the national grid, that eureka moment will stare at us in the face. I don't need no mallam to come reverse the trend and the wheel of progress because that is what they are good at. God forbid Buhari be the president of Nigeria, God forbid. exactly what i told my friends, Most APC supporters are aggressive when they don't any meaningful thing to say, they either call u paid agent or abuse u for airing your opinion. I will let this slide because i am not like them. I argue based on issues and facts, i don't resort to name calling when someone has a contrary opinion. I have got more friends, i have been able to make most of them see through APC propaganda and lack of plan for Nigeria. I explained to them what my dad told me about Buhari as a religious extremist because he served as a military officer. I made them understand that Buhari clamour for power has no vision but to grab power from an "infidel" who should never rule over them. I told them that there is a blur line between islamic fundamentalism, fanaticism and extremism which is what Buhari represents. I also explained to them what my dad told me abt the Nigeria armed forces, that the army was never trained to fight insurgency nor gorilla warfare hence the setback in the war against insurgency coupled with some Generals benefiting from it and have refused to prosecute the war with efficiency, all these are been gradually nipped in the bud. I explained to them that no administration invested in power for over 30yrs both military and civilian, obasanjo attempted it, but when his third term bid failed, he started stealing monies meant for NIPP (viz $16billion USD), i also made them understand that it was as a result of the massive stealing by Obj, Yar adua was confused on where to start from and spent almost a year trying to investigate the scale of stealing hence, nothing happened that year in terms of investment in the power sector. I also went ahead to inform them that we have three stages in the power sector, Generation, transmission and distribution. I made them understand that Generation and Transmission is up to 65 percent and will move up to 80 percent when most of the power turbines been built come up in one - two year(s) time, distribution is the major problem because of obsolete transformers and other infrastructures required, which is why the private owners are still struggling.i made them understand power generation n distribution is a long term project and GEJ is getting it right. I also made them to understand that GEJ has revamped the Agric sector as can be attested to by various foreign organizations. i also explained to them that the Federal High ways are been refurbished as well as the rails which are cheaper means of transportation which the mallams destroyed so that their trailer (haulage) business will boom have been restored by GEJ. I further told them that we will creep, walk b4 we run. GEJ has taken us to the level of walking, when he stabilizes the power sector b4 2019, bullet trains will be introduced, then we can say we have started running. We normally have issue based arguments, i was able to make them understand that u don't have to be aggressive when airing ur views or arguing (like most APC supporters do), we discussed alot of issues on several GEJ policies that will stand the test of time. So i have been able to make more friends and have not lose any. GEJ till 2019.

The truth is that, no one can accurately predict Nigeria's economy. All economic theories has failed in Nigeria, even when recession was pummeling the world's economy, that of Nigeria didn't falter, so i am not surprised that despite the crash in crude oil price and subsequent devaluation of the naira, the economy is still resilient.
