@op don't allow anyone discourage you from reconciling with ur dad and getting him a gift. I had a very terrible experience with my dad that made me drop out of medical school at 300level, my brother got locked up in the cell bcus I reacted by seizing my dad's credentials as a way of protesting his neglect. He tot I conspired with my brother to seize his documents. Cut the long story short, the DPO mediated and asked us to go home and resolve the issue since it's a family issue. My dad threatened to shoot both of us if we step foot in his house (he has a gun). So we both went our different ways. I vowed never to have anything to do with him and for seven years we were not on talking terms. I started hustling and went back to school, did part time and graduated. Yes, I graduated with a 2:1, but those seven years were hell, nothing I did seems to work. Even after leaving school I was stagnant until someone told me to reconcile with my dad if I want doors to open.

Hell No! There is no way I will reconcile with that heartless man. I had all justifiable reasons not to reconcile with him. After a couple of months, I gave it a tot and called him. We reconciled and since then I have never known a better yesterday. Doors began to open. Today, I was able to reconcile him and my elder brother and also placed him on monthly allowance. There is a spiritual implication when you have issues with your parent. I witnessed it and I had no option than to bury the past. The truth is that they will never apologize to you no matter what, just eat the humble pie and make amends. Then things will start working again. We need their blessings b4 the leave earth.

How do you get people (ghost writers) to write for you and how do you ensure this ghostwriters don't go behind to use your material?
I have 3 unique fictional book idea. But I'm not much of a writer
The Best place to get professional ghostwriters in upwork.com. However, their service is quite pricy.

Certification is better but don't venture into it with all ur savings. Certifications won't put food on ur table immediately. Find something that will give you steady income. After graduating worked for a while with no good income. Naa so I carry laptop connected to the Internet and started book publishing. Today, I am free. I see between N900,000 - N1,000,000 monthly by God's Grace and have been doing this and taking care of a lot of financial obligations. Take advantage of the Internet legitimately and be financially free. No company in Nigeria will pay you what a dedicated and diligent work will give you on the Internet legitimately without defrauding anyone.

Spend 30 Minutes a Day Learning a Marketable Skill

Success doesn’t go to the smartest or strongest, but to the most skilled.

When you have something valuable to offer the marketplace, people will pay you for it.

Devote 30 minutes a day to learning new skills for fun and profit. The Youtube is my teacher and i will be most grateful to God for opening my eyes to skills there.

Whether it’s writing, coding, marketing, Facebook ads, a new language, sales or negotiation, don’t let a day go by where you don’t improve your skill set and abilities.

Work no dey Nigeria o, use ur tongue count ur teeth b4 hand meet u.

Peace!

Boss man, please I need an advice.
my first book was about 5000 word count. it was a book on how to make money with affiliate marketing. I was only able to sell one copy in the US.
I am writing my second book now, and I want to focus more on health and self improvement topics. what is the minimum word count, you can recommend for a book on Amazon?

This days for you to publish paperback version of your book, it is expected to be up to 100pages. And 10k words in 5.5" x 8.5" should do just that. In my opinion, minimum 10k words is okay. Except you are writing a short read. Some Americans complain when a book is too short.

Hello myjourneysofar.
i am also starting out on Kindle publishing.
do far I have published a book and still writing the second. Can we connect and share ideas on WhatsApp. I believe it will help us a lot.
Good decision. When i started out i told myself i won't quit this race no matter what. My first sale was celebrated. my first $20 took me to the moon. When i got to the $100 mark, i was glad. My first $300 was beautiful. Then i started slowing things down and sales dipped until i picked up my self to start writing like i am not earning.

There is a point you will get to and you will feel you have arrived, don't ever allow that time to come. Always write. The truth is that no matter how good a book you have written is, it has an expiry date, so keep writing like you have no books on your shelf. However, take out time to rest.

It is good you guys are forming a partnership to encourage each other which is lovely. As time goes on, i will give you guys some titles to write on.

The journey for me has been great and God has been faithful. I am rounding up October with an encouraging sales report. Don't give up and it is never a get rich quick scheme. You have to work hard and the result will come gradually. Above all, don't forget the place of Prayer. It is only God that can bring buyers to your books. The race is not for the swift. It is a marathon and not a hundred meters race. Goodluck and see you guys at the top.

Education / Henry Suubi: Viral Photo Changed Makerere University Student's Life In Uganda by obamartins(m): 11:12am On Oct 25, 2019
Have You Ever Witnessed Someone's Life Fully Change In One Instant? See This.

God can turn your mockers' attempt to ridicule you to a blessing. Don't allow people to put you down, no matter what. Now here is the Story.

Meet Henry Suubi. The boy who reported to university with only a empty metallic case and racksack.

August 2019 this poor boy reports for his first day at Makerere University, the main University in Uganda and one of the biggest in Africa. He arrives carrying his luggage to his attached hall of residence, while other kids are being dropped off.

Henry is not aware that his life is about to change dramatically. Coming from a poor background, deep down in the village, he is the third born in a family of eight children raised by a struggling single mother. Henry is lucky to have scored well in his high school exams and the government awarded him a scholarship to study Bachelor of Science in education. Upon Henry's uncool arrival at campus another cool kid takes his photo and then uploads it on social media to mock this village-belly to earn likes and comments. Well, the photo goes viral!

That's how Henry Suubi met God.

A Ugandan senior journalist employed at BBC commits to run a campaign on twitter to change Henry's life. From then up to now, Henry is still receiving gifts. Let me outline a few I have on my fingertips

First, he is invited to the chancellor's office and the chancellor promises him any parental help he will ever need while at university

- A private company has offered to pay for his dream course (Bachelor of science and mechanical engineering) for all the three years

- Restaurants and hotels have committed to give and deliver him lunch and dinner all his three years of the university.

- Several companies have promised and given him shopping

- Henry received over 10 laptops from individuals and companies including his first smartphone

- Designer boutiques have given him clothes and shoes and they promise to do this all through his campus life

- Did I mention that Henry has already got a job, oh engineering companies promised him jobs and internship even before his first university assignment

- The French embassy and ambassador have given him a fully paid trip to Paris whenever he is ready

Well, the list is endless, including getting free sponsorships for his young siblings at home.
I hope I have answered your question. He later met with the boy who took the photo.

For me, it is working from the comfort of my bedroom while the music play at the background

Having absolute control of my time

Not saying "Yes Sir" to anyone for peanut at the end of the month

Earning over N500,000 monthly from my passion (Self-publishing)

Seeing my books selling with positive reviews from Americans and Britons

Seeing my hard work turn to USD at the end of the month in my Dorm account.

Seeing people rush to work in the morning while i sleep

The list is endless. I love what i do and i can't substitute it for anything.

I give all the Glory to God and the Holy Spirit for divine wisdom. My tithe is gradually moving from 5 digits to 6 digits and the income is gradually moving from six digits to seven digits.

Once again, i love my job with passion and i can't stop thanking God for His wisdom.

Solution: Never short-change or undervalue your brand. When you sell at cheaper rates than the normal price range, you send the wrong signal to your customers (that your products / services isn't worth more than a penny. This is why psychologically they feel the need to keep bringing the price down). Choose your prices and STICK to it.

This so true, I recently increased the prices of my books on amazon and sales spiked. There are some people with the mind set of "the higher the price, the better the product."

Please, what type of book exactly should one write on this Kdp platform? Is it fiction, nonfiction, exposition or what please?
I will advice you stick to non-fiction. Write books that addresses people's problem. They will buy. Finally, u need a software called "Publisher's Rocket" formally known as "Kdp Rocket". It will guide u on the profitability or otherwise of any title u want to emback on. You can checkout how it works on youtube.

I first saw this kindle write up in 2014. I discussed with my Father about it but I wasn't serious then.

I know I have missed a lot but fear is always the element in us that prevent one from taking action.

In that 2014, I opened a KDP account but no book till date.

Constant reading of HeliosHay's testimonial success story has pricked my heart.

Needless to say I am late into this, I have decided to start.

I owe gratitude to God for making me see this thread and have constantly brought it to my path in the business section. I appreciate the originator of this thread in NL, mk8 and then HeliosHay for gingering people with his testimonials.

I know nothing is easy but with and God and determination, success is inevitable.

My Journey To Kindle.

I have contracted and got a written fiction book.

I have opened an ACX account in my name too and updated my payment details.

But

My laptop is dead and I am stuck right now.

No money for proof reading, copyscaping and cover design.
These are my challenges now but I will keep you posted when these are settled. God got my back.

This is the best decision you have ever made and if you are consistent, you will be financially free very soon. Started out in 2017 after i saw MK82's trend and i jumped into it. Made a lot of mistakes and got my account terminated. Started all over again, this time well informed and know things to do to avoid amazon's hammer. Today i see N400,000 every month. Don't ever be discourage with little beginning. With consistency, prayers and hard work, you will get there. No short cuts, just be diligent. I am still a working progress. Still writing like mad until i get the 7 digit figure. Below are some of my sales report to encourage you and to make you know you have chosen the right path to financial freedom when most Nigerian youths are still carrying files up and down looking for job, you can live your dream life from kdp income. Keep the faith, it will take you a lot of sleepless nights to get what you want, but trust me, in the long run, you will get there. The best thing about kdp is that you are not depending on the Nigerian economy to survive. All thanks to God, Mk82 and the rest of the kdp forebearers who showed us the path and light to financial freedom working from home.
