Consistency is the key, you can't do well if you jump from one endeavor to another. Get something doing and be good at it. It is about working and praying.

2019 was indeed my year of Dominion. Made over $14,000 from Writing. This 2020 which is my year of Breaking Limits and operating in the order of the Chinese Bamboo, it's going to be mad money.

Thank you JESUS for Wisdom, thank you Holy Spirit for Direction. Thank you God for helping me break the backbone of poverty in my life.

Nairaland / General / Re: What Were Your Goals For 2019? Did You Achieve Them? by obamartins(m): 12:57am On Dec 31, 2019
I set a goal to make N1,000,000 (1million naira) minimum in book sales and God helped me do it. Made over 1million for three consecutive months. I also moved in to a bigger apartment. 2020, by God's grace, I will visit three countries with my family, take my sales up to minimum $50,000 per month, start my building project and eventually jakpa to Germany.

To God alone be all the Glory. I started from the bottom, now I am here.

My suggestion.

Anybody that pays N20,000 and decides to default instead of humbling his or herself to learn what will give them financial freedom is not wise. So i am not expecting any defaulter.

Then please OP expand this current group to accommodate others. At least a group of 30 to 50 individuals will be ideal, knowing fully well that you helping Nigerians to improve their economic fortunes.
Thanks.
It will be too difficult to manage. Trust me. I can't give 50 persons topics to write. I know what i am doing. 20 or less is ideal. That is the capacity i can carry for now, else i won't have time to write my books.

Kindly reconsider your stand.
I don't think the idea of a second batch will be ideal. Once we take off, i wouldn't want anyone to draw us back. I want all trainee to be on the same page as we make progress together. Even if there will be a second batch, which i doubt, it will start around June 2020. When these present subscribers may have gotten to the six-digit sales level.

It is a Journey to beat N1,500,000.00 in sales of books. Most people surpass this amount monthly by serious work. I am grateful to God for where i am today and i have hope for the future. The target is to see six digits sales in USD before the end of 2020. If you are with me and want to know my secret, then let's take a ride.

Career / Re: Would You Be Kind Enough To Point Me In The Right Direction?? by obamartins(m): 11:21pm On Dec 16, 2019
SimDan95:
After much deliberation and confusion about the irony of life I've decided to seek the diverse and wise advice of my fellow travelers in this journey of the unfair life.

Lemme go back a little, you see life was good till it got to the point I lost both parents, that was before my secondary school leaving exam, I finished school on merit (scholarship) so did my younger brother.

I have a senior bro and sis, so after school with no money to further my education, I was advised and taken ( by big bro ) to serve an uncle for four years which ended up turning sour for me, if you are wondering why your guess is as good as mine I was kicked out when I asked for my money. They brought up numerous complains of me, saying I'm a thief, scoundrel and incompetent.

I picked myself and traveled back to my bro's (big) place now married with a wife ( no child then). We'll I started getting sick regularly I was sick most times, but no one cared as much as buying me a single tablet.*sigh* I started having problems with my brothers wife she didn't want me in the house, I'd go hungry and starve coupled with my sickness most days I couldn't even stand up.

Most days I'd wish for death with tears in my eyes and I finally considered suicide. My Bro started finding fault with me then he shipped me away like a piece of dirt to my grandma's place in the village when I was at the point of death, he never called me till today for more than four years now.

Well the good old woman took care of me and in no time I felt better. With the desire to work I moved in with my sister and lil bro and engaged in any menial job I can lay me hands on till I got a job to work at a gas plant. Well the pay was manageable and I gave my support to those who stood by me. But it doesn't stop me from wondering and asking questions why life chose to be cruel.

Have I done something wrong to deserve this?? What are your other wealthy people doing right that the wretched are doing wrong??. I have a resolve to never go into crime but my morality is thining away with each passing minute. I mean look at the world around you, you'll see lil kids going into fraud and cashing out big time but the ones with the mindset of hustling legit are struggling from hand to mouth. They say hard work pays, but I've worked my bones out, It just seems I'm walking on a treadmill my legs are walking but I ain't moving forward

CONCLUSION

I'm at the crossroads right now, but I need your honest reply and advice. I've gone through things that if written here could fill the encyclopedia of human sorrow and suffering so I'm asking you guys this question “I'VE GOT NO BASIC SKILL, I DIDN'T ATTEND AN HIGHER INSTITUTION, BUT I CAN WRITE I GOT A PASSION FOR IT. IF YOU WERE ME WHAT WOULD YOU DO?? HOW CAN I MAKE A LIVING WITH JUST WRITING.

Your contributions and advice would be very welcomed THANKS I'll sit in the comments section.

Lalasticlala it would be kind if you or any mod pushed this topic to front page, I need answers

Go through this trend and hop in if you are ready

Lol you obviously do not know obamartins.
Good work op.
I signed up training with someone else earlier, I could jumped in yours. I trust you to deliver.

Hopefully, my first book gets ready in next 10-15 days. I want to work in the cooking niche.

The cookbook niche is one very lucrative niche, but the competition is quite crazy. That's one niche we played with in those days. Talking about ketogenic diets, fat bombs, vegans, Atkins diets, deep fryers etc. People still make money there though, but getting visibility for ur books could be an herculean task. All the best though.

Jobs/Vacancies / Journey To Financial Freedom Before June 2020 by obamartins(m): 11:36am On Dec 16, 2019
It is no longer news that there are no jobs in Nigeria. Every year millions of Nigerians graduate from our universities and less than 5% get the jobs of their dream, others are grossly underemployed with no Job Security in sight.
I was among those who experienced this problem and searched for an alternative and by the Grace of God, I am where I am today. Although I am still a working progress and God has really been faithful. I moved from a N7,000 a month salary, to N60,000 a month salary (which was never paid on time), then back to N25,000 salary a month (although regular, but not enough) and finally to a minimum N1,000,000 ($2800 and above) every month.
Today, things are different in the digital world. Unfortunately, Nigerians are not taking advantage of the billions of legitimate dollars that are available online. Indians are raking in billions of dollars every year through freelancing and other digital skills they have developed over time from the comfort of their homes and it is paying off.
THE PLAN:
I want to train Just 20 persons that are ready to work hard and sacrifice sleep to attain financial freedom before June 2020. The goal is to ensure even the least amongst the 20 persons I will be training gets nothing less than $600 every month before June 2020. You don’t need to search for Jobs anymore, because nobody can pay you what you can get from book sales on Amazon
Mind you, it is not a get rich quick scheme but a gradual wealth-building program that will involve your input to get output. The more you input, the better your output.
Now, what is this training about? You may ask. It is self-publishing on Amazon. Amazon is the largest online store in the world and books are one major demand on the platform. What we will be doing is writing and publishing books from the comfort of our home while we get our royalties in United States Dollars (USD) here in Nigeria. I will be giving you all the secrets you need to know about successful book publishing and the right titles that are in high demand. This training promises to be different.
VENUE FOR TRAINING:
Whatsapp platform
AMOUNT:
N20,000 (twenty thousand naira for each participant)
DURATION:
Until you start seeing sales.
DATE OF COMMENCEMENT:
8pm, Saturday 21st December 2019
CLOSING DATE FOR REGISTRATION: As soon as I get the twenty persons or Friday 20th December 2019 (whichever comes first).
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS TRAINING:
This training is not for everybody. For you to qualify,
1. You must have good command of the English Language (both writing and speaking)
2. Ability to write and edit properly
3. Patient and hardworking
4. You must be intuitive
5. You must be creative
REQUIREMENT:
1. A Laptop
2. Internet Access
3. Laptop Powerbank (this is optional if the situation of power in your area is good enough)
OUR FOCUS:
We will be focusing strictly on NON-FICTION Writing. Well researched book titles will be given to each trainee to write on.
If you are interested SEND A MESSAGE TO martinsmaamam(at)yahoo(dot)com with the Subject INTERESTED plus your name and Whatsapp number. Training Outline and required tools will be sent to your mail.
Below is a screenshot of my dashboard so far for the month of December 2020.

Family / Re: Deadbeat Father: How A Nairanlander's Quote Ended My Family's Rift. (photos) by obamartins(m): 4:16am On Dec 14, 2019
Tunbolity:
Your comment struck me so hard. I was 9 in 1998 when dad stopped visiting us (mum, my sis and I) and by 2000, he stopped reaching out to us. Mum saw us through school with her meagre income, and to the glory of God today, my sibling and I are university graduates. Though my sis still talks to him, I am just too pained to reconcile with him knowing the hardship we went through and bitter experience of my mum in raising us. Though still struggling to find my feet in my profession and relatives have constantly pressured me to call him and check on him, I just can't find a space to forgive him in my heart. But your comment got me thinking that could my rigid stance on not forgiving and reaching out to him be responsible for my slow career progress even when I'm clearly not at fault? I find it hard to reconcile your point of view with the fact that God does not pay the good with evil, I never wronged him, he wronged me, he left me in the cold, he tormented me emotionally and psychologically by abandoning me, he made my family suffer, he killed my self esteem and why do I have to agree that it is only when I make peace with him that I can achieve desired progress? Anyways, I'd give it a thought and see if I would need to get his number and say hello

Please do reconcile with him. Trust me, he is not happy where ever he is. Don't be deceived by his arrogant stance or pride. He may apologize subtly when u guys reconcile, but don't ever expect him to say "I am sorry." If he does that, then he is strong. Most, will rather die than to say sorry for their wrong doing. Mind you, what I wrote down was a summary of what I went through. Trust me, I had every reason not to talk to him, his wickedness was there for all to see. People were shocked when we reconciled. They don't deserve it, but do it and genuinely clear all resentment towards him from your heart. I will plead with u to take that path, and see the difference in your life. I am a father today to my lovely boy and everyday I beg God to give me the grace to be there for all my children till I leave planet. Earth. I understand the trauma of an absentee father or mother on the children. It takes God's grace to heal them. Have a blessed day.
