Boss a few questions....

Do you write from scratch? Or you outsource the books?
How were you able to grow from $0 to 1600$ in such a short time frame?
How many books do you release per month?

This your dashboard is making me feel like I don't put in any effort while in reality I do.

Are you sure it is the same amazon that I am publishing mine is where you are publishing yours?
Abi na different amazon website I dey use?
Ayam not understanding again o...

My books will catch fire on uploading then fizzle out with time.
No bad reviews or anything and the niche is not yet saturated....
Just drop off in sales just like that.
50 - 70+ paged book for that matter o.

And the best seller in that niche is just 34 pages... Tho I saw an ads for it.

This is inspiring.
Please do you sort for reviews for your books manually?
And how do you usually rank your book so they keep selling?

Because my books usually sell for sometime and die off before I release a new one. It's like am starting afresh every time I release a new book. Thanks!!

Keywords are not static, u need to keep updating them whenever the book stops selling.

I write on non-fiction. Please can you recommend hot niche or topics for me. I want to start earning big like you.

Search for books that are selling on amazon and write a better versions. However, avoid trademarked titles.

Eliok and other bosses in the house.
I can't see my ebooks in Amazon.com, can only see the paperbacks.

Please how can I see it cos someone want to check it out?

Most information on Kindle are not revealed to Nigerians because Nigerians are not allowed to access Kindle books. A quick way to access everything on Amazon, especially for title research is to open your chrome browser in "New icognito Window" > type in www, amazon, com in the url > click on "Deliver to Nigeria" at the top left corner > in the dialogue box, type in "10004" as the zip code and click ok. It chages you zip to that of New York. You will then view everything on amazon as a New Yorker. There won't be any restricted views.

On a seperate note, everyone doing kdp should do everything within their power to be focused and not to be discourage by initial setbacks or slow pace of progress. This is one of the escape routes from poverty. The economy is not smiling in Nigeria and things will get worse. Do everything within your power to earn USD legitimately in order to survive the current economic realities.

Last month was not bad for madam's account, she got $1600 (find image attached). So, i won't be dropping money for her upkeep any time soon.

I have been given another account to replicate the same result. I will start that by October 2020. The account made about $52 last month. Let's see how it goes, maybe i will write the progress of this account in the diary section with some tips to help struggling indie authors.

Business / Re: How I Got A Content Writing Job With A European Company That Changed My Life by obamartins(m): 1:24pm On Aug 31, 2020
ladywriter:
I've always had the dream to work as a remote content writer (not freelance) with a company. I know two top content writers in Nigeria who have achieved this lofty goal. So I kept pushing to get there. Little did I know that I was already on the path that will lead me there. Below was how it happened:

I assume you know me already. I am Ladywriter. I created this thread "https://www.nairaland.com/4479900/how-make-decent-income-writing
", and "https://www.nairaland.com/1833989/how-make-1000-month-writing".

I stopped working on Freelancer.com to start my writing biz few years ago. It was tough, but I kept going. Two years ago, I sourced clients from LinkedIn. I got about 3 clients all from Europe. I worked with these companies for some time. The least period being six months and the longest - for about 2 years. While working with them, I tried as much as possible to satisfy the clients, but one of them was difficult to please. I eventually lost two of the clients. I kept faith with the remaining one. During this period, I brushed up my seo skill, took paid writing courses worth over $300 with Jon Morrow, bought copywriting books, read virtually all of Neil Patel’s content and followed Brian Dean bumper to bumper. I also bought grammar editing tools. I just kept on learning and improving myself.

Within a year, I became a pro at writing excellent business articles that ranked high on search engines. The articles I wrote for the company began to rank high in Google for our targeted keywords and the company sales soar. The company gives incentives from time to time. For example, they give Amazon Gift cards during Christmas.

Not too long ago, the company wanted to expand its staff strength. I got a call from the CEO asking me if I would like to work for the company full time. I was highly elated! I don’t think I need to tell you my answer (lol). Dreams come true after all. My basic salary for a start is four figures in dollars which translates to six figures in naira. I couldn’t believe my eyes. To cap it all, there are many benefits attached to the job. I will have the opportunity to travel annually to participate in the company’s camp meeting. There are other side benefits apart from my salary.

People, it is good to be hardworking. I can’t begin to tell you the number of hours I spend on my laptop daily including weekends or how much I pay for data monthly. It took me about 3-4 years to get to this point with a lot of learning curves. But it eventually paid off. And this is just the beginning for me.

The truth is, there is no shortcut to success online. There is a process to follow to achieve your dreams. There is no height too high to climb if you are ready to pay the price.

I am writing this piece to encourage someone out there on the path to achieving his or her dreams or someone with a similar dream as mine.

If you are a writer and you want to achieve a similar feat, follow the steps below:

1. Learn how to write business articles
2. Learn how to do SEO
3. Learn how to source clients from LinkedIn
4. Take free and paid writing courses
5. Follow the experts

May God reward your efforts!

Blessings!
I haven't told you this, but it was your post in 2016 that made me go into kdp. Today, i am glad i took that bold step. Thank you.

Dear sir,

How are you I hope you are good, extend my greetings to your madam and junior.

You have been the highest earner in this kdp business, your sale screenshot is some of us goal.
You have become a master to the extent that if you handle a new account at dawn, before it's dusk you would have earn more than all of us.

I know you value your time ( to the extent that you can't have a paid mentorship class again) and you have work hard to where you are now.
I know it is not luck, because someone said an I quote "until you work hard as those who you admire, don't explain away their success as luck".

The essence of writing this open letter to you, is that (it's a request) we will be glad if you can take out of your time and share with us little out of your strategies.
You can use it as a gift like legend do last year ( he gave out an ebook on how to craft tittle).

We will be waiting to hear from you. May the Gods keep on been With You.

Your's sincerely
Kdp newbies.

If only you took your time to go through my messages, you would realize i drop tips to help people get traction in the business. A point of correction, i am not in the first ten top earners in Kdp on Nairaland. I am not even in the top 20 earners in Nigeria. People are earning over $20,000 a month, in this country from kdp.

But the truth is that i can't start reeling out the name of my titles if that is what you want. Its a trade secret, if you get yours, you work around it. Like coca cola won't tell u their recipe, i can't also tell u my niche. But the truth is, don't reinvent what is working, give the market what it wants and not what you think it wants.

For my training, i would really love to teach, but the period is not conducive. I was glad when one of my trainees went past the threshold of N500,000 in July (image attached). This is what i want to see, more youths getting out of poverty. But these period has been really tight and scheduling any training will be difficult as i may not give it the needed attention. Like i said in my previous post, i may schedule one for the first quarter of 2021, God willing. Don't be angry with me, i am sincerely not disposed at the moment.

Please where can I get the new working license for publisher rocket, I paid someone 10k for it only for it to get blocked in one week.

Please Buy the licence. Its an investment. It was the rampant sharing of the licence key by mostly Nigerians and Indians that triggered the recent security update. It was so bad that some Nigerians were hawking publisher rocket Licence key on nairaland.

It is an investment, lets learn to do things right in this country for crying out loud. We mustn't destroy every opportunity. Please save up and purchase the Licence from their website and have peace of mind.

Thank you.

Ok sir.

But how do you do your keyword research? Are there tools or software you can't do without?
If you don't mind sir, what niche has worked for you most?

I use publisher rocket as well as the amazon search bar in incognito mode on Chrome browser. Title research takes time. I could search for a title for a week or two before getting a good one. So its not something you do within a few minutes or hours.

This is huge sir! I haven't made quarter of this in a month before, even after investing much resources.

Please sir, show us the way... Just a little guidance you can spare is fine with me...

A quick tip. Don't try to reinvent the wheel, look for titles already doing well and write your version, plus a proper keyword research and the result will come. Madam is happy the account is stabilizing gradually and it will soon be handed over to the owner while i focus on the other account to take it to $10,000 a month.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Writer Wanted by obamartins(m): 9:44am On Aug 21, 2020
I have always been of the opinion that you inform new writers you intend to hire, to submit their jobs one chapter after the other. once you find out the first and second chapters are crappy, you immediately tell them not to bother with the job. Because, once a writer submits the entire job whether it is crappy or not, he or she will demand full pay. I had the opportunity to recruit writers, out of 25 submissions, i was only able to hire two writers. The others did not meet my expectations.

Honestly, i have been using premium plagiarismcheckerx since inception and don't know of any free alternative. It safe guards ur account and anything from 88 percent and above uniques, will scale through if you are are using checkerx. in other words, keep plagiarism between 12percent and below.

Boss are you sure you did your copywriting well? Buying the email list directly is your best bet so you can offer promos for them after the first one.

i don't think its about copywriting. The site is straight forward, they have a huge reader base (writtenwordmedia, com) and you pay them to advertise your book on their webpage on a selected day(s). I did that and the the money spent didn't yield expected result. I have always been a firm believer of organic sales and having an email list. For me, AMS and other paid adverts/marketing requires indepth understanding, else one will just be throwing money away. Its 20th August and my wife's new account isn't doing badly. Considering the fact that its all pure organic sales. (image attached). If i must do ams or paid advert, i am willing to learn from people with better experience and indebt knowledge of how it works and i am ready to pay for the service.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Journey To Financial Freedom Before June 2020 by obamartins(m): 1:42pm On Jul 30, 2020
RESHARPENED:
Good afternoon Obamartins,

I have a question and I'd really appreciate your opinion.

Here's the question:

I just published a 10,000 words book on Amazon. That's about 89 MSWord pages, given the formatting I used.

The paperback resulted into 89 pages too.

But the Kindle format gives me a 52 pages book. That's NOT cool at all.

I tried reformating it but I still get the same abysmal result. Is there anyway to format it to get more pages?

I responded to a question like this some where on nairaland and here is it below:

120 pages work on A4 is huge. Yeah, publishing as a doc file, amazon will scale the pages down because they pay you $0.004 per page read, but the good thing about uploading in docx file is that all buyers can access all your books irrespective of what device they use. Alternatively, some writers use either 5.5" x 8.5" or 6" x 9" which is smaller than A4 and then covert it to PDF and later .kpf(print replica) using amazon's textbook creator to get more pages. The drawback, however, of using print replica is that buyers with Kindle paperwhite and Kindle Oasis won't be able to purchase your books. When i was using print replica, i got some negative reviews because of that. So i still encourage you upload a well formated docx file even if your book page count is squeezed. You can always depend on paperback sales to make up for the difference.

Sorry for the typos.

Yeah! The Audacity to succeed in life is the motivating factor. My little advice, in whatever you do, put in all effort to earn USD legitimately and when the lock is over, leave the country. $1 is N472 naira as we speak. Just think about that and put in effort to write books. It may be hard at first, but don't give up.

Hi. please indulge me to pick your brain a little bit. so I am writing a nonfiction beginner kind of book, I have written 10,000 words already. these are my questions:

Am I doing it right with the number of words that I have written? if not, what are your thoughts.

Should I write the headings in a clear fashion like; "how to do A or Advantages of B?" I read somewhere that the headings should be written in a way that persuades people to buy because that is what buyers look at using the look-through feature.

Thanks. please reply whenever you can. Regards!

10k word and above is good. One thing u need understand is dont try to invent the wheel. Stick to what is working. How do i mean? Check how others selling similar title on amazon coined theirs, and do something similar without copying theirs verbatim.
