Literature / Re: In Search Of A Good And Working Platform To Monetize My Writing Skills by obamartins(m): 12:52pm On Mar 12, 2022
damo2014:
This is an appeal to anyone who has achieved something reasonable through writing, to please help me.

It is not that I have not tried anything in the past. In fact, I have written as a guest columnist for a number of online websites. Most of them looked attractive and worthwhile at the beginning, but later turned out to be discouraging along the line. Lack of inconsistency, I suspect. I have therefore noticed that this is prevalent among writers who desire making money remotely.

Writing prowess is not a challenge to me. I possess a great deal of passion in it because of the ease and joy I get in it.

I would really appreciate if I can get help from people who are making something from writing, not just passively. I want to own it as a profession too. If it is time constraint that you may see as a hindrance, I now have time at my disposal. I can write on a varying topics _ politics, football, philosophy, socio-economic, fiction, non-fiction, historical fiction. I can equally write to pass updated information on products (i.e goods and services) of even commercial blogs. And I will meet deadlines and expectations.

All I want is a workable platform or template that can provide opportunities for growth and earning potential, be it local or international.

Thanks

If you are good and can work non-stop. Holla me for a chat. I have paid over N2,000,000 in cash to Nigeria writers in my team.

My rent is less than 20% of my monthly income and it is a three-bedroom flat. But e far from the main road well well grin. Some people will visit me and be like, "the house is far from the major road." I tell them in my mind not to visit me, I no invite una. I can't afford to be working for the Landlord every year.

I live in a city where the closer the building is to a tarred road or a major road, the higher the rent. As if naa the Landlords build the road. Mtheew.

I don't have much interest in coding. I don't wanna do coding just because of the money cos i might get fed up along the learning process.

Now pls can you recommend a a skill i can learn and work with REMOTELY? Like staying here in Nigeria and work for an organization in Europe or America

I did some research and found some like......

1)System Admin
2)Customer service specialist
3)IT deskhelp/support

I don't know maybe i can learn any of these skills and use them to work remotely.

If not, pls recommend a good, non coding skill i can learn within 6 months and work remotely with it

I am very fast at learning. So 6 months timeframe is not an issue

Thanks

Video Editing. A friend of mine works remotely for a UK based company where he edits their training videos. He is paid $1000 a month. Although small when compared to what they pay editors from other countries, but men! #500,000 a month when converted no bad.

Good afternoon Nairalanders.

I believe I'm speaking to learned and sophisticated people.

I'm 18, done with high school, I wrote JAMB once last year and applied for Law in one of our universities. I studied very well for it, albeit, I scored 249 and I've not been given admission. To me, my score was a not so pleasing score as I studied thoroughly and vigorously for the exams and I didn't deserve the score.

In my bid to enter school as a law student or nothing, as I've much passion for law, I decided to register for a Diploma-in-Law program in another university, admission is sure with a good O'level.

Howbeit, few days pass by, I had a rethink, I'll say I'm from an average family and with the way the economy is, I'm not financially ready for school.

You might ask why I didn't register for JAMB again this year, I'm working in a POS point, and work 12hours a day for a meagre pay as low as 10k, no time for studies, as such, I couldn't register for JAMB, coupled with my plans for Diploma-in-Law, after that direct entry to degree or write JAMB next year while I'm in school, ditch the program for Degree without completing it.

Today, while discussing with mum, she tried coaxing me to wait and write JAMB again next year, and ditch the Diploma program as it's baseless and they've no money for it this year, that I'll go to school without any financial stress if I wait and write again next year.

With the aforementioned, I decided I'll buy a laptop and start blogging and freelancing as I'm a writer, this thing is a God given talent and I didn't learn from anybody, when I pen down articles, people ask where I learnt the skill from and that I'm close to perfect.

I decided to get a UK used laptop for 30k and develop myself while also making money via my writing career.

I've taken a good decision ditching school and trying to get a skill?

How can I also make money from my writes, I've heard of amazon, the only reliable and most popular, what can you recommend also?

How about a blog?

OP, enter my DM make i tell you something.

Did you graduate in 2016? How have you been coping?

After all these years all I can point at is a teaching job I Engaged in Fetching 15k a month. I quit tho after innumerable nonsense and pathetic experiences.

I feel like I am not doing enough. I feel like I am not trying enough. When I look at my dad and see his Grey hair, I feel like I have failed him because I am still eating his food bought with monthly pension. I am still sleeping and waking up under his roof at over 30years old.

As a child, I remembered the week when I was to enter Jss1, dad took me to a boutique and bought me a very fine white canvass. Now over the years I can't even afford to buy him a shoe. The last time I bought him anything was 2017 during my NYSC.

I feel I have failed not only him but a lot of people that hoped in me to become something reasonable. Laundry sef no work, always in the shop regretting my entire journey. Maybe I should have waited and studied another course or maybe I should have just chosen and engaged in a trade with with my 100 level tuition embarassed

I just regret everything. Under the hot sun, People will see me walking from one company to another establishment with my credentials. Most times i have to Beg for money just to move from one place to another online. The situation is that terrible

I have asked myself what I am doing wrong but I apply to jobs everyday. Or maybe I am afraid of starting a family on 15k salary just like most of my colleagues back in university. We do meet and they tell me how I am delaying in starting a family, and then goes ahead to tell me how poor their teaching salaries are and how they have had to depend on friends and family. But me I have no one to fall on.

A times I feel really sad and end up praying for those unemployed graduates going through the same phase I am phase I am passing through. Even though you don't know me, I pray for you

@OP, If you are ready to work hard to change the story, get a good laptop and send me a mail, i will mentor u free of charge. I used the word "work hard" because i realized some of u that cry like this are mentally lazy, but want things to change.
