Family / Re: My Experience With Ritualists/kidnappers At Lekki This Morning by obamasbabe(f): 5:31am On Apr 19, 2013
deife: I'll be as brief as possible, Nairalanders. To tell you that kidnappers & ritualists exist & are on rampage is an understatement. What you need to be aware of is that they adopt different strategies to capture their victims. I'm going to share with you one approach so as not to become a prey.

I was at Law School busstop at about 6.30am today when I saw a cab & told the driver my destination. He told me to board. I noticed that there was a 'passenger' beside him & another one at the back. So I sat at the back.
Within 30 seconds of our journey, the young man beside me offered the driver #100 as transport fare. Immediately, the driver started shouting. The dialogue ensued between both of them:

Driver: How dare you offer me a hundred naira as transport fare? Aren't you the one that put that bag in the trunk? In fact you have a case to answer. Where did you get that huge amount of money from?

Passenger: (sobbing & genuflecting) please don't expose me. My boss died this morning. He was a Hausa man who ran a Bureau de Change business. He died after a brief illness. As soon as he died, my colleague made away with one of his vehicles. Because I don't know how to drive, I decided to make away with this money.

Passenger at the Front: How much is in the bag?

Passenger: 1.1 million dollars

Passenger at the Front: Oga driver, you know what? Let's strike a deal with the man. (Facing the Passenger at the back who at this point is already shaking like a jellyfish) Are you ready to share this money with the rest of us on this car?

Passenger: Yes sir!

All along I was quiet.

Passengersadthe one who 'stole' the money) We need a herbalist or witch doctor to help us make the charms ineffective because the last time I tried to touch the money, I fell down.

Driver: (Cuts in) that's no problem. We will get a pastor or a herbalist to destroy the charms.

At this point, the passenger asked for my views. To be candid, so many things were on my mind. I felt this could be the 'major break' I had been trusting God for. On the other hand, I wasn't comfortable because if what the passenger said was anything to go by, & I partook in spending the money, I would have murdered Peace & Sleep.

Me: No true pastor will agree to be a part of this.

Before you could say Jack Robinson, the Passenger at the Front quickly offered to phone a herbalist that he claimed to know. Meanwhile the driver had taken the alternative route instead of going through the Toll Plaza. As soon as we got to a point, I told the driver to stop, I told him I wasn't interested, & immediately got out of the car & took a long walk.

To cut a long story short, when I got to work, I just hinted my colleague about my experience without going into details & guess what she said! She told me their modus operandi which tallied with what I experienced today.

So Nairalanders, I urge you to always take time to pray before you go out & be close to God. Put God first in all you do & be security conscious. May you not die untimely in Jesus' name & may God's grace be constantly available to you & your loved ones.
@op thank God for u. But in my opinion d topic is misleading cos those guys are not ritualists they are 419ers. Thank God u didn't continue with them. I will like to let those who haven't heard about this old method of scam know how the whole story would have ended if u had continued with them.
After calling the herbalist, they would have driven u to a remote area where a 'herbalist' will be waiting in a 'shrine'. When u get there d 'herbalist' will 'consult' the 'oracle' and then tell u guys that except a 'sacrifice' is carried out to appease the 'evil spirit' behind the 'moni'(cos that 'moni' in the boot is of course face dollars) anybody that spends from the moni will die! So u guys that brought the moni will be asked to contribute a huge amount for 'cleansing' of the moni. Now d oda parties will claim to have theer own moni which dey will promise to go and bring immediately and u will either go and steal or borrow if u don't have d amount reqiured.
At this point some people claim they are under a spell but in my opinion they play along simply because of GREED!
So wen u get d moni u maybe asked to pay cash or into an account(my friend that share her expericed paid into an account and she was asked to tear d teller for some reasons I can't remember and she did). From this point they may either stop picking or calls or stop calling and if u still persist more moni will still be demanded and if u are lucky d charm may fade and u recover ur senses but then it will be too late cos d deed has been done.
So my advise is dis,if u know u board taxi or cab or bus pls in d name of God always mind ur business cos such things usually happen to busy body people. If d other passengers bring up any issue never u contribute or ask questions or if u don't feel comfortable u ask d driver to drop u. Datz all.
Pls shine ur eyes not after falling prey u start screaming 'na juju them use for me'
NB; some times they may not use moni they may use other things that may catch ur interest.

Roland17: Who says Marriage is a bed of roses physically, Financially and emotionally?

Who says married people don't fall out and back in love with each other.

Your husband is very uncomfortable about something he is not willing to speak to you about maybe because he expects u to figure it out yourself (u are no magician thus u can't) except ur communication lines (verbal and non verbal) are very strong, it might have to do with your new weight which u have already noticed, it could also be about the financial burden/ stress he is shouldering.

Communication and Patience!!! these factors are inevitable in any friendship, irrespective of his coldness, approach and speak to him about how u feel rather than making assumptions, find out what the problem is, u might be surprised it has nothing to do with you, it might have to do with other aspects of his life but it could also be YOU.

Loose some weight and work very hard to get a job, it does not have to be a million dollar job, something that keeps u busy and out of the house.

P.S: 100 years of dating can never be compared to 1 day of marriage.

You would be fine

Thanks Roland

i don't like excess fat too - blubber, grease and loads of wheezing can turn the most virile man on the planet into a monk. get your shape back to the time you first met your hubby and go out more(get a job or start a small business).
Thanks. I am really trying to shed weight. When we met I was a size 8 and now am a size 12 and am still nursing my baby. Not like am so fat.
Family / Re: Is My Marriage At The Brink Of Collapse? by obamasbabe(f): 12:54am On Apr 05, 2013
acidtalk: You guessed right madam.

Yes! It is because you are JOBLESS.
Yes! It is because you are now FAT.

This are two very serious issues you are taking in such a light manner.

Do yourself and family a huge favour and get a job. It doesn't have to be so high paying. A N60,000 salary from you will go a long way to ease the financial burden you have placed your husband into.

Also no man who got attracted to a well shaped and average size lady will now start seeing a YOKOZUNA by his side and be happy. Part of the reasons he probably got attracted to you was your stature, so why add so much weight?

By the way, what you you mean other men appreciate your cooking? Who are the other men you are cooking for? Or dressing to impress so you can get their aTtention.

Are you sure you have never cheated on your husband?
Thanks for ur contribution. We dated for 10 years and I never cheated on him and I will never cheat on my man. NEVER!
Each time I go out with my hubby his friends and colleagues will always complement what I wear and whenever they visit I always have something from the kitchen to give them.
I love my man and will never cheat on him come what may.

Hello friends. Please I created this thread out of frustration and I will need contructive contributions.
My marriage is barely 2years and I have this fear that its at the brink of collapse. My hubby who used to be my best friend has suddenly changed. There is no friendship between us. The only time we are together is when we are discussing other people or getting intimate. And we only get intimate after so much persuasion from me.
For over a year I have never heard any sweet word from him but I hear him complementing other ladies.
He never complements my dressing yet other men do. He never complement my food and kind gestures yet other men do. All I hear is condemnation.
The most painful part is that he has more female friends. And he keeps lying to me about these girls.
All the love and affection he once had for me he has transfered to our dauther.
He is making the marriage uninteresting for me.
Is it because am jobless? Or I because I added some weight(cos he keeps complaining about my weight).
Or is this how men act as soon as they get married?
Each night we sleep in the same bed like total strangers.
Honestly am frustrated.

Sports / Two Nigerian Journalists Brutalised By South African Police by obamasbabe(f): 11:28pm On Feb 13, 2013

Two Nigerian journalist brutalised by South African police

Two Nigerian journalists covering the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) were kicked, dragged on the ground, threatened with cocked guns and forcibly detained for two hours by officers of the South African police in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon.

Debo Oshudun, Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for Central and Southern Africa and John Joshua Akanji, a Deputy Editor of The Sun Newspapers were onboard a taxi on their way to cover the departure of the AFCON winners Super Eagles when shortly after they both alighted, they were surrounded by no less than 20 fully armed South African police officers who threatened to shoot them after they insisted they were Journalists.

The duo, who narrated their story to SportingLife, were grateful to God for sparing their lives.
“I thank God we are still alive because we could have been shot, knowing the type of (extra-) judicial killings in South Africa. I have never been in that situation in my life. I was dragged on the floor, kicked and brutalised. I and John Joshua-Akanji were disposed of our phones, my keys and we couldn’t contact anybody. We were detained for two hours and I was really traumatised throughout the time the police dealt with us and still imagining it up till now.
“The police claimed that they stopped our car because the taxi we were in had a number plate with two different characters. Immediately they stopped us they removed the number plate. They lied that they had been trailing us,” Oshundun told SportingLife in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon.
Joshua-Akanji had to miss his South African Airways flight due to the torture he received from the South African Police.

The Sun Newspaper Deputy Editor also narrated his ordeal to SportingLife in Johannesburg yesterday.
“I was in a trance. I thought I was acting out a movie. I never thought it was for real. I have never seen a thing like this in all my life. But I am happy to be alive to tell the story”, the visibly shaken journalist disclosed. 20 policemen, who had already cocked their guns and pointed them to my head and my colleague Oshundun’s, were shouting ‘I will shoot you, I will shoot you. Who are you? Do you think you are special? I will blast your brains off’”, Joshua-Akanji revealed.

Lieutenant Colonel M. F. Tshabalala station commander, Sandringham Command South African Police Service, SAPS, later apologised for the treatment meted out on the Nigeria Journalists.
It took the intervention of the Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg to secure the release of both men. There are no indications yet, if the Journalists will press charges against the South African Police.

The two journalists however commended Hope, the South African taxi driver for daring his country’s police by rising to the defence of the Nigerians. “These men are responsible journalists that have come here to cover the AFCON. They are like brothers to me. I ate and dinned with them. They have been wonderful to me as a South African. Why are you treating them this way? It’s not fair! it’s not fair!”, Hope is said to have cried out while the policemen were brutalising the Nigerians.

Crime / Widow Killed By Lover For Money Rituals by obamasbabe(f): 10:31pm On Feb 13, 2013
Kafilat Lateef was a young woman of 36 years. Widowed five years ago and left with three children, she must have felt the absence of a companion which made her yield to the love overtures of Gbenga Taiwo, then a plank seller at Bodija market, Ibadan. Their paths had crossed over two years ago, as she was also a trader in foodstuffs at the same market.

Happy that she had found love again, Kafilat put in all she had into the relationship. Her family members were also happy that she was looking bright again. Putting her trust in the man she had had intimacy with several times since their relationship started, Kafilat did not think twice when Taiwo called her on January 19 , inviting her to Oyo town, where he had relocated since 2012. She returned to Ibadan on January 20 and went back to Oyo on January 21. He reportedly told her to come for the N50,000 he promised her.

Happy that she would be seeing her lover again, she went to Oyo, and when her sister called her later, she told her that she was with Taiwo at Idi Ope area of Oyo. She was given food and drinks, which she took with happiness, not knowing that she was drinking to her own death. Unknown to her, her drink had been laced with drug, which sent her to sleep, from where she slipped to death.

Information gathered from her lover, Taiwo, who had been arrested along with four others in connection with Kafilat’s death, revealed that immediately she became unconscious, the loverboy and his friends, Afeez Kareem and Lukman Ganiyu, who had already planned her death, clubbed her on the head with a dagger, after which they put a kolanut in her mouth and buried her in a shallow grave already dug for the purpose.

The act was carried out in a house where Ganiyu was working as a security guard.

Source learnt that Taiwo was hellbent on becoming wealthy, not minding the means through which that would be achieved. He had reportedly approached an Islamic cleric, Mohammed Saheed, that he was interested in money ritual. Saheed claimed that he told Gbenga that he could not do such but gave him an alternative which could also yield money if done.

Saheed reportedly told him to put a kolanut in the mouth of the corpse of an elderly man or woman and bring it the following day after the kolanut must have dropped from the corpse’s mouth. To quicken the process, Gbenga decided to employ the services of prostitutes which he would kill to achieve his aim.

“However, when I approached prostitutes, I could not afford what they said I would pay if they should sleep in my house overnight. That was why I decided to make use of one of my numerous female friends,” Taiwo said. He further confessed that he tried two other lovers. He gave the names of his other lovers as Mama Iroko who came to him from Iroko, a surburb of Oyo town, and Mama Dada, a trader at Gbagi market whom he invited from Ibadan.

He disclosed that while Mama Iroko did not sleep after her drink was laced with drug, Mama Dada suspected his motive, especially when she noticed the shallow grave that was dug. According to him, “she did not sleep throughout the night and when it was daytime, she asked me whether it was good for me to think evil towards her. She left thereafter.”

Unfortunately, Kafilat became the victim, as she fell asleep after her drink was laced with drug. The following morning after she was buried, her suspected killers went to the graveside to take the kolanut as expected but to their consternation, there was none. They scrapped the earth off the remains and saw the kolanut still in the mouth of the corpse.

When the trio saw that their plan had not worked, they reportedly decided to dismember her remains after severing the head. They allegedly burnt the pieces and buried them in another shallow grave by a dumpsite behind the house where the dastardly act was committed. Taiwo confessed to the police that he took the head to a herbalist, one Adeyemi Adedokun a.k.a. Baba Agbadu to use it for money ritual for him.

Adedokun, however, denied being given the head, though he admitted that Taiwo brought the head to his house.

Also, Mohammed Saheed from Ilesa-Baruba in Kwara State, whom Taiwo alleged to have asked him to bring kolanut, denied telling him to kill someone, saying he was only tring to help. Saheed, who said he was a Quranic teacher, told Source , that Taiwo came to him for money ritual but claimed that he told him he was not into such things.

Saheed added that Taiwo also brought his friends Afeez and Lukman, who also wanted to do charms for authority and favour respectively.

According to Saheed, “I told him what our forefathers used to do with kolanut from the mouth of an elderly dead person, saying that if this is done, it would be found by the graveside by the following day.

“ I also told him that the deceased’s spirit would try to resist the kolanut being taken but if it could be forcefully taken, it would be used for a charm that would be bringing any fortune from wherever one may want.

“Three days after, he came back with the kolanut but told me that he did not find the kolanut by the graveside, so he had to exhume the corpse to take it.

“I sent him away that I would not be involved in such a thing because I had already told him that the kolanut should not be used on exhumed corpse, an accident victim or someone deliberately murdered.”

Sunday Tribune further gathered that Taiwo was a wanted suspect in Oyo State Police Command in relation with cases of robbery in which he was involved. He was said to have abandoned his wife and only child, relocating to Oyo from Ibadan immediately he knew there was a manhunt for him.

Police sources also told Tribune that Taiwo’s father had already disowned him as a result of the robbery cases he was allegedly involved in, unknown to him that he would still commit another crime. The father, Mr Joseph Taiwo, is said to be the pastor of God’s Foundation Church at Jakan area of Agbowo, Ibadan.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku who is currently investigating the case, Mrs Janet Agbede, told Sunday Tribune that policemen comprising of Oyo SARS operatives, detectives from CID and Durbar Division set to work when Kafilat’s family reported the case of their missing relation, after efforts to locate Kafilat proved abortive. The family members had told the police that two days after Kafilat left for her lover’s place in Oyo, her line was not going through.

They added that they later received a call from Kafilat’s line telling them that she had an accident in Lagos and was hospitalised in a general hospital but was disappointed when all efforts to locate Kafilat in any Lagos hospital proved abortive.

Describing the act of the suspects as callous and despicable, Mrs Agbede, advised women to be wary of men they regard as lovers so that they would not fall victim to evil-minded persons. Tribune gathered that a pathologist has told police that the charred remains of the deceased would have to be taken abroad for autopsy and DNA. The cost was put at N1 million.

Please before south korea reacts with a nuclear bomb they should be reminded that Nigeria is made up of 2 nations. Biafra and Nigeria. Or rather nigeria is divided into 4 parts, north, east south and west and the doctors were killed in the north where the leaders and security agencies only arrest BH members on TV and radio.
So please d their anger or reactions should be directed to the North.
